Your reaction was really interesting as you clearly have a deep understanding of music and how it works. Thanks for providing some useful insights, keep it up! :) Are you also going to react to their whole album?
I somehow hope that this could be the start of a cultural "movement". Not in a political way, but in a "spiritual" one, that more and more people really value this kind of at, of deep thinking, and may just abandon all that crappy fast-earned-money-mainstream-pop. It reminds me to the film "Dead poets society" - the same discovery of incredible depth in poetry - and actual impact to the real lives.
this is a review (fan page Maneskin) of Coraline (the Maneskin fable about adolescence), and its meaning told by the Maneskin singer himself in the Rockol interview, "Coraline" is a song born almost by chance "in a hotel room. It was me and Thomas. He put the guitar on it, I the idea of the chorus, which we then developed together with the others ". "Coraline" is one of the most streamed singles three days after the release of the new album "Teatro d'ira Vol.I", a fairy tale that the band wanted to tell in its project, a fairy tale without a happy ending. The protagonist of the story "Coraline", a little girl who does not find her place in the world, in a hopeful path towards the light, studded with dark moments . The rock ballad of the Roman group finds its connotations already in the first verse of the song, where the frontman Damiano sings: "If you hear bells singing you will see Coraline crying, taking the pain of others, and then carrying it inside her". The song also tries to address the growing up period of the young woman, in which no trust is placed, a feeling that traumatizes Coraline in her evolutionary process: "She is a child, however, she feels, like a weight and sooner or later she will break, people will say, "It's worth nothing. She can't even get out of a poor door, but one day, one time she will." The arrival of a knight, who tries to help Coraline in her difficulties, does not change the direction of the story, with the same one who seems to remain helpless to the young woman's pain: "Your every little tear is an ocean above my face, and in I don't ask for anything. Just a little time, I'll be banner, shield or your silver sword ". The last verse describes the withering of Coraline, who frightened decides to withdraw into herself, without the possibility of showing herself and her love: "She has lost the fruit of her womb, she has not known love, but a father that a father is nothing, they told her in the city there is a castle with walls so powerful, that if you go and live inside it, nothing can hit you anymore ". summing up, The protagonist of the song is Coraline, a little girl who cannot find her place in the world, even if she undertakes a path that points to the light, despite being faced with difficult and dark moments. The little girl goes through an evolutionary process, in which there is no happy ending, but only a sense of distrust that distresses her and causes her a trauma on the path that leads from adolescence to adulthood. Even the arrival of a man will not change things, as - even if he wants to help her overcome her frailties - she remains impassive to her pain. Thus, the young woman withdraws into herself, precluding herself from the possibility of showing her love, shutting herself in a "castle with such powerful walls" from which she can no longer hit her.
Ciao 😃😘
If I weren't Italian I'd like to be British, I always loved your accent and obviously I'm in love with Maneskin too, and nothing I just found a British girl talking about them :)
Let me tell you that Damian wrote this song for his girlfriend. When she was young .. she was raped by her father and lose the baby in her womb.. She is suffering from various pathologies and this song described everything so clear. So sad but very significant..
First for the energy of 'Shut up and good' and then for 'Coraline', the poignant ballad that Damiano refers to that sets anorexia to music ("And I told Coraline that she can grow up / Take her things and then leave / But Coraline doesn't want to eat no / Yes Coraline would like to disappear "). A song, as revealed by the singer himself, written thanks to his partner Giorgia Soleri. Ciao.
A lil update: this song is about his Girlfriend "Giorgia Soleri" (you can find her on IG and she has the name Coraline tatooed on her arm/shoulder) and this song talks about her disease, a disease she fought for years, a difficult disease called Endometriosis and Vulvodynia... She fought for years before having the diagnose and now she was operated and feels better. After the Sanremo 2022 exhibition Damiano on his IG thanked everybody for Coraline and he wrote "and thank you Giorgia for letting me write it and live it". So the final verse about the castle etc is indeed talking about suicide, but not referred to Giorgia, but referred to the fact that many people with this diseases would not be heard/diagnosed... So that's why many people commit for desperation!
How's it possible a music lover instead of let himself/herself get immersed and carried away by the music and the profound lyrics keeps commenting on top of the song missing many things in the process (like this girl's enormous drama that's based in a real story)? At the very least, my dear and very sympathetic girl if you don't want to comment after the song, rewind pause forward. The viewer will understand better what you're saying as well.
Perhaps someone has already written it to you: the walls of the castle in the city, where it will no longer be affected by anything, are the truly imposing walls of Verano, a large cemetery in Rome.
This song is about incest on the part of the father. The monster that keeps her in the cage is him. This is the truth that holds within her ... she has not known love has lost the fruit of her womb (a son) many have not understood this. The only thing I didn't understand was Coralline In the end he dies or finds the courage to escape ... I don't think the ending ends well
Girl, your reviews are really insightful, I love them!! I am from Rome and I have listened to Måneskin since they started local and enjoyed their development so far. I am really happy that also people abroad are starting to value their music and their unique style. Wish you all the best for the channel, bye ✌🏻
Ciao, Rachel, I m italian. This song was inspired by Damiano's girlfriend. Giorgia suffers from some diseases that affect the female sexual organs which are vulvodynia and endometriosis. Rare diseases that are often not recognized immediately Giorgia Soleri had the merit of raising awareness of these diseases, is an example for many women Damiano wanted to dedicate this song to all women who suffer from rare diseases that are often not recognized and all women who suffer from them are treated like crazy.
Appreciate that you reacted to this. Ask you please to listen to that again, you focused a lot on the music construction and my opinion maybe not enough on the lyrics .. sensitive as you are I was probably expecting some tear coming down. Thx anyway you are great
Not everyone has to tear up when listening to a sad song; I'm quite sensitive myself and as nice as Coraline is it didn't move me to tears, it just made me feel sadness. I think she read all the lyrics well enough, the only part when she looked away was when they repeated at the beginning so she didn't lose anything. And honestly I'm very interested in her musical commentary, which is something other reaction channels don't give you. I didn't hear anyone else analyzing the time signatures in Coraline for example.
@@ThePeaceAround i like a lot your comments too I had just the feeling that for that specific song you had missed something and I was looking forward to see your most emotional part
Guys, a person I’ll never stop thanking has put the docufilm of thanking has put online the docufilm of Maneskin with English. You are looking for "this is Maneskin" docufilm with translations in english.
You missed completely the point here: THE LYRICS. It's the story of a girl who had lots of unluck in her life. She "lost the fruit of her womb", she struggled with depression and/or mental issues and apparently she ended in an asylum or a tomb (the "castle")
Ti consiglierei di guardare l'esecuzione di Coreline di ieri 1/2/22 al Festival di Sanremo. Sebbene l'audio e il testo non siano ben comprensibili, colpisce la passione e il sentimento espressi. E' arrivato al cuore.
I am a bit concerned about lyrics, I guess there is a lost in translation. The specific words Damian sings are not from an everyday Italian, those words give power to the lyrics through the song: vessillo scuro, spada d’argento, mura potenti. I was asking myself, why mura potenti? It is not an adjective for wall, maybe tall should be used, but he used mighty walls because they keep the same taste of the other expressions in the song. Vessillo is the flag used during war to reunite knights, carried by them to identify themselves. So at the end mura potenti makes sense because it connects to the previous spoken register. Then we have to interpret what is the story of coralline, so we know that she lost the fruit of her womb, but she never met love. Is that the cause of her anxiety that make her fear to go out? And the father that has nothing of a father told her the story of the castle with the mighty wall that I interpreted as an asylum, so that he describes the fable of the castle to her to close her in the walls where nothing will touch her again. What I like it is that the song is an open to interpretation poetry written in a chivalrous Italian (chivalrous linguistic register).
I'm italian and i can Say One thing. If you love a thing of Italy and you don't eat pinapples on pizza, you Will be lover from everybody in Italy. You're welcome in our world!

Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline

Warrior with a zealous heart
Hair like red roses
Those precious copper-like wires, my love, take them to me

She takes in the others’ pain and then carries it within her
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline
But she knows the truth
Not everyone can go on with their heart split in two
It’s already cold
She’s just a child but she feels like a burden and sooner or later she’ll break
People will say: “she’s worth nothing
She can’t even get out a miserable door”
But one day, at least once, she’ll manage
And I told Coraline that she can grow up
Fetch her things and then leave
But she detects a monster that keeps her in a cage, that covers her way with explosive mines
And I told Coraline that she can grow up
Fetch her things and then leave
But Coraline doesn’t want to eat, no... yes, Coraline would like to disappear.
And Coraline cries
Coraline is anxious
Coraline wants the sea but she’s afraid of the water
And maybe sea is inside her
And every word is an axe, a wound on the back
Like a raft sailing on a swollen river
And maybe the river is inside her, inside her
I’ll be fire, I’ll be coldness
A repair during the winter
Whatever you breath
I’ll understand what’s inside you
I’ll be drinking water
The meaning of goodness
I’ll also be a soldier
Or a light in the evening
And I don’t ask for anything in return
Just a smile
Every little tear of yours is an ocean on my face
And I don’t ask for anything in return
Just some time
I’ll be a banner, a shield, or your silver sword, and...
And Coraline cries
Coraline is anxious
Coraline wants the sea but she’s afraid of the water
And maybe sea is inside her
And every word is an axe, a wound on the back
Like a raft sailing on a swollen river
And maybe the river is inside her, inside her

But a father that isn’t father-like at all
Told her : “in the city there’s a castle with walls so strong that if you go live inside it nothing will ever hurt you again
Nothing will ever hurt you again
The lyrics are just so delicate :)
Personally I still don't understand the meaning of the last part about the castle. What's the father's aim to say such a thing?
@@ajeje9498 Her father abused her and she got pregnant, then she lost the baby and committed suicide. The castle where no one can harm her anymore is a cemetery. It's true story of a Damiano's friend

Thank for your technical analysis. As Italian speaker I go focused on the emotional of lyrics and melody so I couldn’t get the aspects you pointed out.
Btw have a look to the lyrics more deeply. They run in the vein as blood
Thank you! Such a lovely reaction video. I am not a musician. STILL you make it to have the infos come accross
You analize the song in a very interested way. Well done. Definitely this is an amazing band.
You are sooo Romantic!
I'm sure Damiano would write an equally beautiful lyric if he could get to know you. Ciao from Italy!
That is probably every girls dream right now haha. I couldn’t imagine him writing anything cool about me haha, but mind you I’m sure Damiano could write a song about a pigeon in trafalgar square and make it sound cool.
Hi Rachel, yours are probably the best reaction videos I've ever seen, you seem really emotionally involved and sincere, the observations are accurate and appropriate. Last but non least, the style is relaxed and relaxing, "ThePeaceAround" is the right name for your channel: You now have a new subscriber !!!
they are so young and yet their lyrics are so mature.
Your reaction was really interesting as you clearly have a deep understanding of music and how it works. Thanks for providing some useful insights, keep it up! :) Are you also going to react to their whole album?
I think I might do it old school and buy a Cd, play it out loud and react :)
Thanks for this video, I like so much this song. Saluti from Italy 👋🏻🇮🇹
Listening! And close your mouth when Damiano sings!!
I can feel your emotions, very nice, thank you🌹
they are our Italian pride ... great band!
I really liked your musical analysis comments. Happy to be subscribed
this is a review (fan page Maneskin) of Coraline
(the Maneskin fable about adolescence), and its meaning
told by the Maneskin singer himself in the Rockol interview, "Coraline" is a song born almost by chance "in a hotel room.
The protagonist of the story "Coraline", a little girl who does not find her place in the world, in a hopeful path towards the light, studded with dark moments
The last verse describes the withering of Coraline, who frightened decides to withdraw into herself, without the possibility of showing herself and her love: "She has lost the fruit of her womb, she has not known love, but a father that a father is nothing, they told her in the city there is a castle with walls so powerful, that if you go and live inside it, nothing can hit you anymore ".
summing up,
The protagonist of the song is Coraline, a little girl who cannot find her place in the world,
even if she undertakes a path that points to the light, despite being faced with difficult and dark moments.
Whatever comment you want to make, when Damiano sings in Italian, is magical.
Amazing analysis. Subscribed
The song talks about a girl who gets abused by her father, sorry for my bad english (in italian this lyrics are incredible). Ciao with love!
Words coming from th soul💖
wow you are very talented! and so is maneskin haha! feels exciting to have a young rock band with a major audience
Coralin sembra uscita da un film . Troppo bella! Grazie ragazzi per il vostro supporto. ❤🤘🇮🇹😗
Imagine commenting on a video while there is loud music playing in the background. (love you
You miss some great lyrics by talking, I kept say "no! Go back!" 🥺🤣
Ciao 😃😘
You could either pause for the comments or rewind after them, because I think you miss some things (sometimes important) in the song otherwise.
I'd love to have your reaction to my fav song of maneskin "la paura del buio" one day
If I weren't Italian I'd like to be British, I always loved your accent and obviously I'm in love with Maneskin too, and nothing I just found a British girl talking about them :)
This album ( teatro d ira ) Is a master piece!!!!!! Invite to Buy the material CD
Let me tell you that Damian wrote this song for his girlfriend. When she was young .. she was raped by her father and lose the baby in her womb.. She is suffering from various pathologies and this song described everything so clear. So sad but very significant..
I love seeing you
talking about maneskin
your fantastic
First for the energy of 'Shut up and good' and then for 'Coraline', the poignant ballad that Damiano refers to that sets anorexia to music ("And I told Coraline that she can grow up / Take her things and then leave / But Coraline doesn't want to eat no / Yes Coraline would like to disappear ").
A song, as revealed by the singer himself, written thanks to his partner Giorgia Soleri. Ciao.
Beautiful song! Very innovative
The viewer will understand better what you're saying as well.
we're not just pizza, pasta and mandolino...finally... so glad u like them
In Rome there's a cemetery that people of the city called "the castle". This castle has strong and protective walls...
Love from Italy! I definitely love your sensitivity...
Perhaps someone has already written it to you: the walls of the castle in the city, where it will no longer be affected by anything, are the truly imposing walls of Verano, a large cemetery in Rome.
Ma solo io mi sono innamorato di questa ragazza?
siamo in tanti a quanto pare....ma si sa niente se è su IG o FB?????? :)
Thank you so much
You have to read the lyrics then you'll understand the different stages of the song... It is a movie passing in your mind.
Brava Silvia
This song is about incest on the part of the father. The monster that keeps her in the cage is him. This is the truth that holds within her ... she has not known love has lost the fruit of her womb (a son) many have not understood this. The only thing I didn't understand was Coralline In the end he dies or finds the courage to escape ... I don't think the ending ends well
Damiano said it's not a happy ending , maybe the castle is a psychiatric hospital where nobody can hurt her anymore
@@elly2394 I think instead that the "castle" is the cemetery 😔
The meaning is left open to interpretation

Girl, your reviews are really insightful, I love them!!
I am from Rome and I have listened to Måneskin since they started local and enjoyed their development so far. I am really happy that also people abroad are starting to value their music and their unique style.
Wish you all the best for the channel, bye ✌🏻
Ciao, Rachel, I m italian.
This song was inspired by Damiano's girlfriend.
Giorgia suffers from some diseases that affect the female sexual organs which are vulvodynia and endometriosis.
Rare diseases that are often not recognized immediately
Giorgia Soleri had the merit of raising awareness of these diseases, is an example for many women
Damiano wanted to dedicate this song to all women who suffer from rare diseases that are often not recognized and all women who suffer from them are treated like crazy.
Appreciate that you reacted to this. Ask you please to listen to that again, you focused a lot on the music construction and my opinion maybe not enough on the lyrics .. sensitive as you are I was probably expecting some tear coming down. Thx anyway you are great
I had a second listen and the lyrics really are so beautiful. very delicately written
Thank you! I really appreciate that people like my musical analysis comments :)
Saluti dall'italia 🤟viva i Maneskin 🖤
