Epic. Finally we're getting into some Reacher. This man is LITERALLY the character. All props to Cruise for his performance, but Alan Ritchson was born to play this role as you will see.
He's the sexiest Gary Sue ever existed ahah
been reading reacher books for years and when cruise did those 2 movies it was okay but he was not reacher. Alan just Nailed it just good lord.
@@Mama-Dee1969 Yeah......when it was announced that Tom Cruise would play Reacher, I had to scratch my head. He was NOT what I pictured in my head (Ritchson, yes....Cruise, not so much).
The guy that stuck out in my mind (there's an EXTREMELY talented casting director that lives up there😁) was the actor that FIRST played The Punisher. No pretty boys.....just plain manly men doing manly things (can I say that without getting cancelled?).

My parents are die hard Lee Child fans and I grew up reading the Reacher books (not super appropriate for a kid but sure look). I loved this series so much because it was so accurate to the book and Ritchson not only looked the part but played the part of Reacher so perfectly.

Reacher is one of those shows where I didn't know much going into it and it blew me away. Can't wait for season 2.
I've read all the JR books and watched Tom Cruise doing an okay job in the movies, and I was still blown away by how good the series was!! 😍

I'm so happy the actor who plays Reacher, Alan RItchson got the help he needed, he told a story where he tried to delete himself but thought about his kids and sought out professional help

Alan Ritchson is a legend, been following him since Blue Mountain State. When I found out he was diagnosed Bipolar it just made what he's accomplished even more impressive. Love to see him getting the praise he deserves.

Alan Ritchson encapsulates Reacher pretty much perfectly from the books.
This show is one of those rare gems that could have easily gone wrong but went so right.
Lee Childs the author of the Reacher series was directly involved in production which is probably why it's so good and true to the source material. Look at almost every successful adaptation and if the author is still around, they normally are directly involved. The one's where the author gets hands off is usually where it goes badly just look at GoT once they got past the book material it went into a death spiral.

He actually played in a show called Blue Mountain State about a college football team. He was also Raphael from the TMNT movies in 2014 & 2016
Loved him in Blue Mountain. He was hilarious.

I'm so glad you guys are reacting to this show. My husband and I loved it. We can't wait for season 2. I'm hoping for many more seasons because each season is a book, and I love the books. In case anybody is curious, they are the Jack Reacher Novels by Lee Child, and this season is based on The book The Killing Floor.

They seem to have captured the tone of the books perfectly. Reacher is always the smartest guy in the room and far more dangerous than anyone realizes until far too late. He's always amused by the posturing and scheming of his opponents until he's ready to pounce.
This is one of my favorite action series in the past 5-10 years. Alan Ritchson is such a badass as Reacher. HYPED for season 2
I had a Banshee sized hole to fill for a while until Reacher came along.
And he actually measures up to the book Jack Reacher. Tom Cruise's film is great if you have no knowledge of the books, but Alan literally IS Jack Reacher.

This is Jack Reacher from the novels. After watching this last year I could never take the Tom Cruise movie seriously. So good, and this guy is totally believable as a badass.Cannot wait for season 2.

Many fans of the Lee Child, Reacher novels were dissapointed by the movie role being given to Cruise also. 😞

Reading the book and seing tom play reacher, he is a good actor, but does not meet the description of reacher, but this guy, absolutely does.
@@xl081 Tom Cruise had the charisma but it was insane that he was cast in a role like Jack Reacher. Great actor but didn't fit the role. Alan Ritchson has the charisma and physique so yes the show is better (imo).

If you read the books you'd understand what I'm saying about physique. Reacher's height is an important part of the books; most people take him to be a dumb brute which he plays to. In reality, he's very observant, calculated and has a sense of honour and loyalty. Along with the ability to best most in a fight with hard-earned skills and using his brain if outmatched. All well shown in the show whereas in the movies they weren't able to capture that. Just an aspect that was missing, an integral part of who Reacher is.
You probably don't care about what I'm writing and you're most likely just looking to bait people but it was worth a shot. To each their own but if you're going to comment stuff like that, maybe think about the reasons. Saying "lies" and then insinuating I'm homosexual (I'm not, but I'm also not juvenile enough to have an issue with it) in response to someone's opinion is just downright goofy.

@@jordanpeterson5140 Yup. Filming ended in February 2023. So, editing and technical adjustments will take a couple months. Hopefully by October we will be watching Season 2.

Reacher is hands down one of my favorite shows, I'm so excited to see these reactions!
This has to be one of the very few series that hit the ground running right off the bat, and kept the pace and intensity the whole way without any real flaws popping up to disappoint you. In fact, it was probably one of the few series I've seen in the last 10 years that INSTANTLY hooked me in and can't wait for the next season to start up JUST to see how they do with a new story but same main character to work with.
I've read almost all the Reacher books, watched the two Reacher movies starring Tom Cruise and binge watched this series four times now. This series has everything I like, humor, fantastically choreographed fight scenes, great character interactions and dialogue. I am eagerly waiting for season 2, hopefully this summer.

I am a former Military Policeman, and the Jack Reacher books are HUGE amongst us MPs. When the Tom Cruise movies came out, the MP community was pissed, THAT wasn't Reacher. THIS IS.

I'm a huge Reacher book fan and while I liked the movies with Cruise, I was super interested in the tv show coming out last year. The first episode blew me away, I was totally hooked and binged the whole show in 2 days. Love to see people reacting and enjoying this show!

Yeah, you guys are really going to like this show. Great cast, great chemistry, and a great story. Alan Ritchson gained a ton of mass for this role and even more for season 2 from what I read, almost 20 to 30 pounds more mass. He's like a modern day Sherlock Holmes.
2 facts:
- There are two Reacher movies featuring Mr Tom Cruise. Similar but very different vibe, worth a watch if you haven't seen them.
- Alan Ritchson (portraying Mr Reacher himself) has stated that he actually put on even more weight for season 2... Can't wait to see it.

Nice! I enjoyed this series and newer take on Reacher. I hope they make more with Alan Ritchson. The Jack Reacher book series is extensive and I'm a fan of the books.
Edit: although Alan is a good Reacher (better than Cruise imo), Reacher is supposed to be very tall and kinda lanky with a not THAT handsome face. The fighting ability is on point though!

Funny that they say he looks like a football player and a linebacker as Nicki said specifically. He played Thad Castle, linebacker and Captain of the Mountain Goats in “Blue Mountain State” and he was the funniest character in the show.
