There are sheets floating around discord channels prior to each special event which gives you an idea of top split cut offs. Good to have in your pocket so you dont get the surprise you did. This one had 8.3k avg cut off for top split.

Was this the highest LMP2 cutoff ever? I assume a lot of people who would usually be driving GTP went LMP2 out of concerns about the rain.
@@exediron188 Since the GTP's were introduced, yes definitely the highest cut off. But it's mostly down to iRating inflation and also the best teams differentiating their approach so they have more cars in varying classes of the top split.

@@WaskiLP PGZ mostly, although it's typically the same 2 or 3 people who do them
LMP2 class was stacked so getting split #1 probably was very difficult. We won LMP2 and overall in split 23 where we still had 2.6k average for LMP2 while we had some 0.9k GTP missiles to avoid on the track. GT3 was still 3k average in split 23 and we had Jimmy and Steve to look out for on the track. Didn't want to get in any accident highlights :D
i think we were in the same split as you driving the GT3 class. we were talking about how big the difference was. also the GTP's commited mass murder that race.

you'll probably need an average in the high 8k to be guaranteed top split in every event

I have a question regarding wheel weight in GT 3 cars ... How heavy are they in real life
I play alot of ACC and wondered how much force is required to turn the wheel or does modern steering make it easier besides the dynamic force into the corners at high speed
Trying to get that balance of more gain in wheel settings or not
The GT3's I've driven have power steering, so it wasn't crazy difficult to turn the wheel when driving. It wasn't 'easy' either tho.
I have my wheel profiler at 100%, then in-game it's at 28% gain. I use a Simucube Ultimate.🙂

whats up with the 80% limit/deadzone on your brake?
in iracing 100% is not always best 80% is optimal so he just limits his brake to it to be more consistent a lot of people dont do it so just preference on if you set the limit or not but to be faster only braking to around 80% is optimal ;)
@@bryant.p1215What about if you're going into a compression braking zone in iRacing? Is going over 80% not going to improve lap time..?

I see. It makes sense that it would be better for James, coming from ACC where you smash 100% and hold it there. I would love to see a comparison of iRacing vs ACC braking - is ACC braking truly as unrealistic as Daniel Morad says?
When you talked about the iR grind I didnt think about 6.7k. Dont get me wrong. Its a lot of rating and definitely not your personal max you can achieve....but its way too low for TopSplit nowadays. Was pretty clear there wasnt a possibility to get in there like you thought. Put another 1.5k on top and we can think about it. Its crazy nowadays 😅
My teammates were both at 8.4k, so our average was around 7.8k. We thought that would be enough, usually it would be, but this event had the highest LMP2 sof ever lol
does anyone know why you spam 1st and 2nd coming into the pit lane? i dont see the point in it and would like to know why
pit limiter is a bit below the actual speed limit in the pits, swapping gears allows a slight bump in speed without exceeding the pit speed limit. I'd like to have shifting into second turn off the pit limiter so this practice stops.

its quite annoying for esports competition maybe for fun its okay but besides that no
I find it's harder to be fast when you get motion involved. It's more enjoyable for sure if you get the right motion system, but for my 'job' it's not necessary.

I'd assume it's for fuel saving
very very slightly faster
allows the car to be slightly closer to the true pit speed because iracing pit limiter is usually 1 or 2 below the stated pit speed
To try and be as close to the max speed as possible (like Vince said). But if you take the limiter off and modulate throttle so you stay at 60/61k’s for example then you will gain probably a tenth in the pits.

Stewarding is after the race. There’s nothing puzzling about it. What’s truly puzzling is how he is just now getting into iRacing.
@@dunnock343 Just because it's normal doesn't mean it's right. iRacing could absolutely hire live stewards for these events.
@@BigFatCock0 There's no way they could hire stewards for every split of every special event. You're talking potentially 40-70 splits throughout the entire weekend depending on the special event, of which depending on length all of them would overlap. Would need a whole team for each one as well. I'd imagine at minimum 3 people per event but even then that doesn't feel like enough to make good decisions. There's no way iRacing could ever cover every split. Sure you could do maybe the top 5 splits, but I don't think that's fair to allow a couple splits live stewarding but not the rest of the platform.

need to have your teammates being able to be heard, makes for very boring content tbh. there's no prizes for special events to my knowledge so hiding their voices for strategic purposes is a bit dumb imo
