Bro that purple Audi scene about choked me to death on Frosted Mini Wheats. I had a mouthful right as I see him "HONK!" and then I see him clip the Audi and I hear the Purple Audi driver BITCHING for a split second as he's headed for the outfield as he said "I HIT HIM TOO?!?". Dude my back hurts from laughing.😅😅😅
Judge Jimmer would say he was guilty - he's the overtaking car, it's his reasonability to execute the pass safely. As for why the other guy braked, well he gets to do that although I don't understand why.
@JaredR1996 right, and this happened a few times. I'm guessing you mean with the Audi 2 cars up, and the guy he hit lifted into oblivion? Just saying, Jimmer had like 5 mini wrecks that were 95% his fault. I guess that one was the biggest "incident", but they all were "incidents"
By the way Jimmy, sounds like IndyCar is coming back to iracing again. I can't wait to watch you race IndyCar again especially after your emotional 500 win a few years ago
8:20 "It's on the faster driver to pass safely" applies to both of the GTPs. The other GTP made an attempt to pass with care, albeit more care than was likely necessary, and you did not. Banished to LMP3s for all eternity.
The only thing I might have done to prevent the punterino would be to have braked a bit more before just because the closing speed is quite high and you can see that it’s quite busy up ahead but otherwise I’d just say it’s a bit of an unfortunate racing incident.
@@hebisty4163 it isn't about there being no space, there was clear room for the ahead car to accelerate passed the Audi in time for the next corner, instead he braked on the straight right before it, right on the previous turn lol Dude pretty much brake checked Jimmy, intentionally or not, all because he reacted to the Audi
@@ghostprincess. All that said, we all know as jim mentioned in his racing steward series, its the overtaking cars responsibility to over take safely. He had time to react but chose not to. human reaction time is roughly 0.2seconds he had more than enough time to hit the brakes but chose not too.
Incident with #6: Yeahhh let's be real. On a Sim Racing Stewards video, the consensus wouldve been "you've just driven into the back of him." A classic example of the overtaking car's duty to do it cleanly. Intentions and expectations explain your inputs but you'd still be getting a penalty.
It's a great mix of seeing what happened incident wise immediatly in an action replay kinda style, doesn't interupt the flow of watching the race and far better than some incident reel post race.
incident at 8:20 was your fault imo. what you said about that guy not needing to brake that late in the corner is true, however the margin was so small and the closing speed between classes is so large in high speed corners that his instinct to avoid a collision is entirely justified. Had he taken the corner like you were expecting, your closing speed would have still left you only inches from hitting him and possibly in netcode range, but I wouldn’t expect perfection and confidence with these classes in high speed corners. On a side note, when I raced these cars for the first time using the Nissan in RA 500, I took out a few GTOs in practice at turn 11 despite years of multiclass experience. The closing speed in high speed corners with these classes makes it more difficult than any other multiclass Ive raced. Great video though, the old GTP is my favorite car on iRacing and was fun to see you hustle it.
Jimmer love your videos and stewarding videos. But like you had said many times, the car in front exists you can't just drive through. Also the whole no malaice doesn't change anything. I sentence you to 50 lashes.
Whilst I can understand you being so aggressive as it wasn’t a particularly long race I think at points you were maybe overdriving a little and possibly even driving outside your setups ability, it seemed like you were running a much higher downforce setup than the people around you, hence why you felt like you were being held up slightly through the sweeping S’s A few times and getting absolutely dropped on the straights, all in all though I would agree with the ones you thought yourself were your fault, but would love to see more of this and see you improve your understanding of the cars setup to catch those pesky front runners
Sorry, Jimmer. In my opinion i´d call you guilty. Like you said, you are the one behind. Its easier to watch the stuff before you then your mirror, especially when you´re fighting for a somewhat clean overtake in multiclass racing. Yes, you committed to the inner line, but the guy in front of you had a little more speed then the Audi. Where should he go? To the right, where the Audi is going to? Or using the freed up space on the inside to keep his speed and position? I´d say he was somewhat predictable, and you just got a little to much into the fighting mentality. But it was so fast you had no time to think, so its more of a racing incident after all.
@@Jimmy_Broadbent okay, i tried the last fiew hours to put my mind into the right words. I fail at it right now, but i dont want to leave you hanging. Far too many things i would want to tell and also ask. I wrote the last couple of hours about it, but it makes no sense drifting that far off... so long story short, i think its somewhat predictable that it comes to complications if in a multiclass race a faster car wants to overtake a slower car while being chased in a close fight. I think the guy in front thought the Audi would take the inside, letting him by on the outside. But as he saw his misjudgement on this, he just reacted by taking the line the Audi gave free as soon as he saw it. Thats where you already committed to the inside. I believe its part of a drivers job to expect such trouble as well, and i do think so because i nearly died in an motocycle accident i caused by myself by going a little too aggressive. But all that aside, what should the guy in front have done to be somewhat predictable in this situation, wit the Audi in front? I ask, because i don't know. I lack the experience especially in multiclass and want to learn.
9:40 - I think the incident is on you I'm afraid bro. You said it yourself, he's committed to the Audi being held up. You anticipated him doing something he didn't, it might have been a reasonable assumption at the time but it was wrong and the incident responsibility is squarely yours imo. Edit: Jimmer doing his very own Harold Shipman impersonation. 🤣
The fact that you've had the same incident twice on the same corner in the same scenario... you probably need to be a little bit more careful when you see traffic around there lol.
Yeah both incidents where you weren’t sure are both on you. The first time, the #6 car was on the brakes because he probably didn’t have enough room to get past and was going too quickly, and you just hoped to be able to get through. Second one was also your fault because the Audi was already turning into the corner and you were nowhere near alongside. Rest in peace safety rating
To be blunt I reckon that incident with the #6 was your fault: neither he nor the Audi can disappear, and ultimately you hit him from behind. I appreciate they you were expecting him to do something different and that the #30 car is a complicating factor, but I think that braking was also a predictable action from the #6 car, and probably should have been anticipated because he has the obligation to pass lapped traffic safely, and is likely to have all his attention on the Audi. It happens, and I can see the argument that it's a racing incident, but I lean towards a small penalty for causing a collision.
that's is simple, in case of an incident between a normal iRacer and and a streamer/youtuber, it's always the fault of the said streamer/youtuber, that's the law.
Virginia International Raceway, my only experience with this track is from Forza Motorsport 6, 7 and Forza Motorsport 2023. This is probably going to upset a few people, but words can't describe just how much I absolutely hate racing at this track.
Awesome! Camel GT was great back it the day, and VIR is the best track in America IMHO. it’s also my home track, so I’m quite biased. And yes, for low downforce cars like that #17 Audi, you do have to turn in very late going into turn 1. Pretty neat work, Jimmers on a track that’ll eat your lunch if you’re not careful.
Seems like sharing the track with the Audis guaranteed incidents... IDK If you could've slowed down fast enough to avoid that 2nd punt without locking up yourself.

I'm gonna go with racing incident. There was no reason to brake, and while it's on the car behind to follow and pass in a safe way, you can't just hit the brakes in a flatout section and not expect the people behind you to zip into you.
I think the accident with the No. 6, was on the 6. He was following the right line, but did something unpredictable which caused the accident. If he'd stayed predictable, the accident wouldn't have happened.

Blimey, those Audis are scarily slow in the fast corners! It reminds me of a certain Porsche in your first season in the Praga, in the Britcar Cup series. (At least, I think that's what it was called.)
I see what you did there, you're playing the long game. Building up a reputation which sends chills down the spines of every opponent in your vicinity so they'll let you through voluntarily to save their own race. Smart!
The whole series is underrated. The audi is just hard to drive since it requires clutching to be quick. I feel like if they had more variety for cars in the series, it would gain traction. 100% agree on the nissan being underrated. I've been on the service 15 years, and it's still the coolest to come along imo.
It's such a shame the historic cars aren't popular in iRacing because they're so awesome! The upshot of that is that the people that do race them tend to be VERY good in them as Jimmy found out...
Combo of both in the case of the crash with the number 6. He slowed down more than he should've, and some more awareness on your part for seeing the number 6 being slowed down through the S curves behind the Audi.
The incident with the 6 car seemed to be just a lack of patience overall and I would place on you Jimmy. I know this isn’t an endurance race but when you have that multi class you have to be so on top of the traffic ahead and that just seemed like a lack of awareness and tunnel vision on the 6. This is probably a terrible take but that is just what i see from my experience with multi class and being in the faster class
I would call your first incident a racing incident. Yeah the driver shouldn't have hit the brakes when the line was open, yeah you could've been a bit more careful coming up on another driver, but that series of events happened so fast no one could've predicted it
Guess the GTO assumed Jimmer was going round the outside, and braked to avoid being there - they're a lot slower in a straight line and have significantly less downforce than the GTPs and since they're 4-wheel drive they're understeery on throttle (but it does make it a lot easier to get them out of slow corners compared to GTPs!).
@MopMaster1809 Yeah, entirely possible. Initially, it looked to me like a 'I'm gonna brake on the racing line', but if the driver was hesitant of understeering to the outside I can see that
I only ever see you drive the top class in multi-class racing. We need to see you in the lower classes - it's far more fun and it will give you an idea of what's required of a slower car. You don't seem to understand the lines or... anything at all about them.
Regarding your incident, I think the guy in front found the brakes instead of the throttle. You hate to see it. And I don't think you had any time to react honestly.
Great vid, but yes the blame is on you for that shunt imo. Yes he should have been on the throttle to pass the slower car in front but you can't just punt him off for being cautious with it

Great vid, but yes the blame is on you for that shunt imo. Yes he should have been on the throttle to pass the slower car in front but you can't just punt him off for being cautious with it
i think you shouldve been more aware, but i dont think it was your fault either, the car in front shouldnt be braking.

This car has a dog box. You do not use the clutch with a dog box.

Jimmy was feeling like a Grinch and stealing people's races 🤣
Merry Christmas to everyone!
