Incredible for La Jolla not just in size, because there are double-overhead days even at La Jolla Sores, but for how long the waves are holding up in this footage. Unusually long rides.
Yeah when it place breaks it definitely has that Sunset Beach style of wave. The guys that usually paddle out here get some really good rides. I've been doing photo & video here for about 20 years and seen it really good, but it is very fickle spot. Thank you for watching, taking the time to comment, any shares with friends, and I hope you subscribed to SLAW.
I love a lot of those La Jolla/Bird Rock reefs. Nice a slow and soft at size. I appreciate that more and more as I get older. I'd imagine Black's was serious this day.
yeah especially the reefs closer to PB have that forgiving roll in, but definitely still sucks getting caught inside. 10-15 ft of white water still sucks. Oh yeah, Im sure Blacks was epic this day as well.
Ohh yeah. When it turns on it is such a great wave. I have always thought while filming it, that it breaks so much like Sunset. The shape of the wave and the rides. The bigger it gets the further out it breaks. Same it only turns on 1-2 times a year. If that. Thanks for watching, appreciate it, and hope you subscribed to the channel.
yeah the guys usually have a blast when this spots breaks. and the beach afterwards near sunset everyone is pretty pumped. thanks for watching Mohammed.

La Jolla Shores was firing! What a privilege to surf such a dynamic wave.
Haha. Yeah those guys paddled so far out from the south end bathroom. Were in the middle of the ocean. Thanks for watching.

yeah he almost had it... the white water and bumps just got him. wouldve been a good ride it looked like. thanks for watching Julen.
What part of the La Jolla coastline are the "outer reefs" located?
Ahhh. Only the Shadow knows... lol.
Best guess , Simmons. Maybe Hot Dogs. Possibly the point.
@@SLAWTVvideos I like that program (on the satellite radio).
Nice conditions! Water temp.?
Typically in Jan in Socal the water temp ranges from 55F to 60F.
yeah usually you are still good with a 3:2 and if you are going for a longer session maybe throw a 4:3 on.
Alta vala
absolutely. that deep water comes up and hits that outer reef. all that energy
That’s average size for us in PNW
and a lot colder up there too. haha.
Nah, that would be clean sizable surf for the PNW too! You are not surfing this on average in Oregon, Washington, or BC🤣
