Pispers. King of political satire. So sad he retired, but I'm glad to see people reacting to him still today.

Oh yeah, Volker Pispers. This spot is at least twenty years old. Many things have developed since then. Just a flashlight: we now have a Ministry of Agriculture that has a turkish family background. And all are okay with him, even the farmers. We have people "with migration background" in every party: left, right, conservatives, even the neo-facists. And in all parliaments and local governments and military and police... you name it. Still there are problems, of course, but at least as much with the new Identity Trap resp. PC matter.

A friend of mine is from a part of Saxony (Erzgebirge) and we went there for a festival. It is a trip of two hours by car ... i did not understand what they said and some of their habits were let´s say strange to me :D .

My personal perception is that at least these days, the meaning of being German shifted back towards what it originally was. Shared language, shared culture, or (most important to us rule-lovers and compulsive categorisers) whatever nationality is on your ID (that one would be a newer definition, though).
Originally, being German meant speaking German (and thus sharing a culture). Originally meaning well over 1000 years ago. Germans were those who spoke the language of the people (that's literally what the word deutsch meant, originally; of the people) as opposed to the ruling class who spoke Latin and later French.
It's not like we ever were one people of one ethnic origin. Even from the get go, we've had Celts, Slavs and Germans (no, not the modern Germans. The German language differentiates between Deutsche and Germanen, English sadly does not) and other smaller groups in the area. We were never homogenous, that's just romantic fancy.
And if you want to think about it genetically, most Europeans come from the same 3 founding populations, just mixed differently, so it's all the same anyways (I'm talking pre-history here).
That being said, I can only speak for myself and my erm peers (educated Millennials, I guess).

This is one of weakest of Pispers in my opinion, in other gigs he talks the truth by connecting historical facts logically, in this one it is pure framing. Of course there is a common german culture, mindset and value system, of course there are regional culural differences esp. the language (like in evey country). The difference between the japanese and german people is much smaller, esp. the values, than with islamic cultures. It shows he never read the Qur'an. It was very recent after the war, when the U.S. still had much power over Germany (and they still have) that the U.S. made a deal with technologically very backwards Turkey to bring guest-workers to Germany to earn good money and study in exchange for military presence of the U.S. near the middle east. German politicians (from the Social Democratic Party) who opposed the plan of turkish guest-workers due to too different cultures and value systems, changed their standpoint within a day, after secret talks with the U.S.. Many Germans feared that the guest workers would never return to their country, but politician lied to the people and promised they would. That's why there is a big antipathy against migrants from islamic countries, and it is in fact the opposite, many germans find islamic patriarchy to be the problem and not being jealous of it.
