It's awesome that you have found a mop that works for you. Stick with that. Having confidence in your equipment will boost your confidence in the job you do. :-)
The problem I have with a lot of these mops is that the heads get dirty in the middle of cleaning a room, no matter what the head is. The stick-on kind need to be changed, don't they? Or, they need to be removed and soaked in some water to clean them. Otherwise, you are just moving dirt across the floor. And the one you showed where the mop is twisted just puts the dirty water back into the clean water.

I have a ton of experience cleaning (RVs, houses, yards, everything.) And the worst part is that I have to buy all the cleaning stuff that isn't here, and won't leave them when I move.
Hi, I'm a little confused. So what is the solution to the bucket problem you mention at 2:33 and reusing the dirty water when you wring out the mop. Just use two buckets?
Love the flat microfiber Rubbermaid Hygen mop system. The bucket holds all of the flat mop clothes. Just place water and detergent. Cover and shake if solution is not premixed. Comes in different colors to prevent cross contamination. New mop system release mop cloth without touching
Thanks for the tour. What I really want is the expensive roll around heavy duty mop bucket system on wheels with the Giant mop heads that you swing around and detach to dry at night. Change the water off enough and use good Solutions with burning hot water. What you would use to clean up Hospital kitchen floor with but I don't have room for the storage of the system. Next best thing is and I need cellulose squeeze head on the long handle, in my opinion.
Kudos to you! You love what you do and it shows. You have given me good advice on the simplest of things, the basics that make big differences. I LOVE the "big red" Rubbermaid duster you recommended on another video. It makes my life much easier.
I used regular string mops for as long as I remember. I just recently changed to flat microfiber mops and I find it wonderful for hardwood floors but kind of tricky to use on tiles, I don’t have a streamer so I have to do it by hand on my knees to get the results I want. Is there any technique to use the flat microfiber mops without a steamer or should I just get a regular mop for that purpose? Thank you.
I switched to a steamer for the bathroom floors for this exact reason. We might just be slobs but in our bathrooms there is far more gunk on the floors than on our hardwoods.
@@AskAngelaBrown I have hardwood flooring in my bathroom 😳 I have two bath mat/rugs which are washable down at all times to help protect the floor but what system would you recommend for that? Is steamer safe for hardwood?
Hi Ramsha, I would suggest the Turbo Microfiber Mop, which you can find here: www.amazon.com/Microfiber-Mop-Hardwood-Floor-Cleaning/dp/B01CFIHGLA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?dchild=1&keywords=floor+cleaning+system&qid=1591890011&s=home-garden&sr=1-4&linkCode=sl1&tag=savvyc03-20&linkId=8b6be9fb88be1ac4959af009f2232481&language=en_US It's great for both wooden and tiled floors, and you can reuse the pads.
My full home is tile and bathroom is ceramic tile I have an old steamer I plan on using on the bathroom floor after seeing this video. But how do you feel about the E-Cloth? I like the mop bucket that spins but don't like to push around dirty water. I love swifter but don't love the chemicals. And I am currently using the Boca mop. I like it it's very easy to rip off and wash but I don't feel it's really doing the best with cleaning my floors. But I do love the concept and this is why I'm concerned about E-Cloth.
Using a steamer on your bathroom floor is a great idea! The E-Cloth can be a fantastic chemical-free option for cleaning. It's made with high-quality microfiber that captures dirt and bacteria effectively with just water. To address the concern of pushing around dirty water, consider using a separate rinsing bucket. Many people find E-Cloths effective. Alternatively, explore other microfiber mop systems or reusable mop pads. Find a method that suits your preferences and achieves the desired cleanliness. Happy cleaning! 🧹🚿
I don't like that a lot of these mop buckets empty the dirty water back into the clean water. Is there a system that uses say, the spin method for the mop head, and empties into a different segment of the bucket so as not to contaminate the clean water? Thanks.
When you find one let me know. The one's I've seen on the market empty into the same bucket. And the ones I've used don't wring the water out well. They leave WAY TOO MUCH standing water on the floor which is why we use them as dry mops.
have you ever used a straight squeegee and a cloth (cuban mop, I think they call it)? Every housekeeper in Atlanta I had used this and the floors were always so clean. I finally learned how to do it and it's a game-changer (for me) plus the small surface area (the blade of the squeegee) puts a ton of pressure naturally, so I don't have to generate as much with my body. I can also constantly switch to a clean area of the cloth. But is there a negative about them? Why don't I see more about them, for example, on this video?? I squirt each area of the floor with my odoban water and squeegee/scrub it up! Anything harder to remove, you step on a corner of the towel and go at it with your foot - I love mopping now!! But is there a downside?
This show is primarily about house cleaning, rather than commercial cleaning. We don't talk floor burnishers, rug cleaners, or any of that stuff here because it doesn't apply to most homeowners or maid services.
I want to get the eazy squeeze mop for my kitchen floors, but after this video idk what to do, I have that ceramic tile in my kitchen and my bathroom, should I purchase this mop?
It all depends on your lifestyle and how much use your kitchen gets. If it seems to suit your needs then go for it. Keep me posted I'd love to hear how it works for you. Thanks for watching. :-)
@@AskAngelaBrown I have a lot of pets, so pet messes and pet food spills are very common, and my toddler aged nieces come by often as well, so the floors are always very messy and need a deep clean.. I was also thinking about getting an O-cedar mop.... thank you for your help!
I am mad at mopping because I hate the dirty water so I dump it 2 to 3x and its annoying maybe I have ocd I feel like an electric mop won't cut it either I feel like I'm going insane is there any mop system like to keep fresh clean water separate from dirty water I do like the idea of a washable mop head so I will be researching that right now and see what I find thank u
Hey Jennifer, if you are willing to empty the robot vacuums daily they will pick up a lot of hair. It's not going to be a cure-all since dog hair doesn't land just on the floor and that is primarily where the robot vacuum will be.
First time watching ur channel I have a query we are running a fitness center with half section of vinyl flooring and the rest is of rubber flooring but I am now frustrated with dust settling on walls on machines and on floors obviously we tried vacuum cleaner but not effective for deep cleaning will u suggest something I just want to know about microfiber mops is it effective
Hi Sunder, thanks for joining us here and welcome to the show. Rubber flooring is awesome because it is easy to clean, durable and resists stains, mold and mildew. Here is a step-by-step tutorial of how to clean rubber floor mats from a company that specializes in flooring www.flooringinc.com/blog/how-to-clean-rubber-gym-flooring/
Hi Peter, Great question. It depends on which mop you get, and how you use it. The spin mop I use most is for dry dusting so there is no water at all. If you are using a bucket that dumps your clean water back into the same bucket then yes, you would be recycling that dirty water which is not very effective.
So I have ceramic tiles in the kitchen, they go into the hallway and into the bathroom. I have hardwood floors (they're light brown) in the living room and my bedroom. I've used a string mop since that's what I brought up on and I currently have a spin mop. What mop would you recommend that I should use for my floors? Whenevr I mop and they finish drying, my floors will be slippery and I don't know why. Thank you in advance.
Imani, Check out this video on mopping hardwood floors: ruclips.net/video/9nx43IzLyhA/видео.html I think this type of mop might work for your floors. 👍
Hi Angela- I really enjoy your videos. They have been so helpful as I'm building my cleaning business. Could you tell me what kind of steam mop you're using in this video? Thank you!
Yes I can, the mops are listed under the video description. Here's the link - Shark Steam Pocket Mop Hard Floor Cleaner with Swivel Steering XL Water Tank - amzn.to/2AWRQEM
If it's ceramic tile, you should be able to use the Bissell steamer to get out the ground in dust. I love it because it's got a handheld attachment that separates from the floor part. This allows you to use the steamer for showers, grout, ovens, stainless steel and more.
I bought a steamer floor cleaner last year. My arthritic hands are not strong enough to really use it. However, my tenant is a big strong guy. I’ll leave it to him to do the floors here.
@@AskAngelaBrown thank you. I have trouble pushing it. My biggest problem cleaning is getting down on the floor to scrub stuff (like tub, shower, low placed microwave), and getting back up again. What a pain!
There are lots of great units on the market that do the same or similar things. The key is to find one that feels good in your hand that is comfortable to use, and works well on the surface types in your home and is in line with your budget. Vacuums, mops and steamers are like shoes - there really isn't a one size fits all.
Hello good morning Angela Brown!! My name is Hawanatu mansaray I am in Spain and I'm a new house cleaner I want to ask you a question, I want to know if I'm the who suppose to buy the product before started doing the job.
We use a pH neutral floor cleaner designed for the type of flooring we are cleaning. If you are cleaning ceramic tile, you can use water and a steam mop and you don't need any chemicals at all. At Savvy Cleaner we are house cleaners, we are not chemists. So we do not mix chemicals or make home made solutions. We leave that to the chemists who have had lab training and manufacturers who have safety data sheets that are logged with OSHA and the Globally Harmonized System. This way we can guarantee our cleaners are using consistent chemicals on their customer's floor and not experimenting with homemade concoctions.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. Distilled water for mopping? No. We use regular water for mopping unless there is something wrong with the water that will harm the flooring. And the vinegar - how do you mean?
For cleaning LVT (luxury vinyl tile) floors, it is recommended to use a pH-neutral cleaner specifically formulated for vinyl flooring. These cleaners are designed to effectively remove dirt, grime, and stains without damaging the floor's surface. Additionally, it's important to avoid abrasive cleaners or those containing harsh chemicals, as they can cause discoloration or deterioration of the LVT. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific cleaner you choose. Regular sweeping or vacuuming to remove loose dirt and debris, followed by damp mopping with the appropriate cleaner, is usually sufficient for maintaining the cleanliness of LVT floors.
This is the stem mop I was using: Shark Steam Pocket Mop Hard Floor Cleaner with Swivel Steering XL Water Tank - amzn.to/2AWRQEM You can also check out the other mops, they are listed in the video description.

If you click on that, there are mops listed and the links (paid) for where you can purchase them. I hope this helps! 😊 Thank you so much🤗 for watching!
@@AskAngelaBrown thanks. I do not have hardwood floors.....just for kitchen, hallway, and marble in bathroom. Have been using just spin mop with dawn detergent and water. But bit worrisome cleaning floor then putting mop back in water then using again. Do you do this or after every use dump water and refill? Would seem laborious. Considering Shark stream mop....just do not know if would clean well and if safe. Thanks!
It depends on the type of flooring. For most floors I prefer a dust mop. OCedar has a pretty good one with a washable head amzn.to/3p7C26Y and refills. It's great for homes and can be used on ceramic tile or hardwoods.
How do you feel bout the Bissell cross wave, Hoover floor mate or any other types of automated mops that vacuum and scrub? Just curious. I have spent so much money on all kinds of fancy mops and yet still I feel like I’m missing something. The steam mops don’t work on our tiles. Can you address this? Thanks.
When you say the steam mops don't work on your tiles what does that mean? And what type of tiles are they? Slate? Ceramic? Porcelain? Marble? Laminate?
@@AskAngelaBrown they are ceramic and for some reason the steam mop never makes them feel clean so I bought a bissel spin wave which is ok but still not great.
Bissell cross wave works well in the kitchen for quick light floor cleaning. Does not scrub out shoe scuffs or heavier dirt on hard floors. Emptying the dirty water is easy... but really cleaning up the unit & filter after a couple of uses is a pain.
My wife and son have a lot of health problems so I do the tidying up. I'm 6'1 and hate the mop my wife uses think it's called Vileda it's too small and too light. Are there any big heavy mops you could recommend? Thanks!
Hi Shaun, You might benefit from an adjustable professional mop. amzn.to/3cEL730 They are easy to use and you just wet the mop head and stick it on. BAM! It's quick, easy, and super durable. If you try this, let me know how you like it and if it met your expectations.
Hi. Angela, after seeing this video, I think our kitchen and bathroom have Travertine tile! We moved into this house where the tile was just laid. Five years later, the white grout is dark tan. The white tile has become tan, especially in traffic areas. No shine. We depended on house cleaners, but we don’t know the cleaner they used. One scrubbed floors on her hands and knees. Another used a damp mop. I’m the senior that bought the Hommitt after seeing your review on that. I’m hoping the Hommitt can help clean that. Any help would be really appreciated. We can’t afford a professional Travertine tile service. One video said this kind of tile needs a least yearly service
Judy, I have travertine tlle floors also. I hope your question is answered. I have received quotes from $300 -800.00. The later included "me" (75 yrs) remove all furniture. Inaddition be out of my home for 2 days due to the chemicals used. Laughable or insulting!!. 🤔 It's been suggested to use a steam cleaner; however, I have been told my light grout will be darken forever. I am so disheartened that I am ready to replace with laminate flooring. Best of luck. Please let me know if you receive a reply or learn something helpful from somewhere else. I will do the same. Thank you and Stay Safe.
Grout needs to be sealed. Otherwise it will change colors due to dirt, grime, mopping etc. And it may be possible to get your grout clean. Some of the strong chemicals that will actually clean your grout - will also etch the finish right off your tile so I don't recommend experimenting. It's possible that the grout needs to be refreshed or replaced, and then resealed. I am not 100% sure without seeing it. And if the tile is discoloring - that is a concern. Were chemicals used on it?
Angela Brown hi Angela, I have no idea what was done when the tile was laid. A neighbor said they gutted the house and fixed it up to sell in a week. So I fought anything was done I don’t know what cleaning people have done. But I got really upset and used grout cleaner with a Magic Eraser awhile back. It helped, but made my arthritis flare. The worst of it is in traffic patterns.
I'm not a house cleaner, I'm just asking for myself. We have natural slate flooring, so many of the tiles are very textured. I vacuum about twice a day because our dog sheds so much. I had a steam mop, but it died. I would use it first, then go over the floor with Mop & Glow and a flat microfiber mop. Now I'm just using the microfiber mop, first with an all purpose cleaner, then with Mop & Glow. I feel like the highly textured tiles don't get as clean as I would like them to. Is scrubbing them with a brush on my hands & knees the only way to make sure they are clean?
I probably still recommend a steam mop with a scrubby head. You didn't mention if your slate is coated or sealed, but you said natural so I'm assuming it is not. I would avoid chemical products on stone if the slate is not sealed. And if you can use a steamer to get the slate clean, it's less wear and tear on your body than scrubbing on your hands and knees. :-)
That’s the bad thing about mopping, though….the dirty water or the dirty mop head. No matter what you’re still mopping with dirt. With the Swiffer Wet Mop towels or the Wet Jet, you’re still using a once clean mop and then mopping the rest of the floor with a dirty cleaning towel. That’s what’s so strange about mopping. Unless you change out the wet cleaning pads every few feet, that’s the only way to get a clean floor, but then, is that cost effective. That’s my problem with mopping. I like mopping, actually, one of the few things I like housework-wise, but i would mop, take the mop to the sink or tub and rinse the mop and then go back to mopping and that took HOURS in my old house. Now, I’m living in a small rental house and mopping with a Swiffer wet pad takes all of two minutes in the kitchen. I don’t have to deal with the living room mopping since there’s carpet.
I know right? Changing the air filter often, keeping doors and windows closed are minimizing tactics, but you'll still get dust - just not as much of it.
My favorite spin mop did the worst thing ever they are using a new manufacturer and the mop attachment is horrible. I’m desperate to find a new mop. I can no longer scrub floors on my hands and knees, my preferred method
Mops are terrible, once you clean with it and even halfway, tons of crap and dust gunk gets stuck in them and its impossible to rinse em off, next time you sue them, you basically paint the floor with crass :/ kinda need several mop heads that are machine washable, because after doing even a small area its full of dirt and dust.
Check out this playlist of similar videos we made on hardwood floors. More great info.

There are dual compartment bucket systems like this one: amzn.to/47um63g (affiliate*) that work better than using 2 buckets
Love the flat microfiber Rubbermaid Hygen mop system. The bucket holds all of the flat mop clothes. Just place water and detergent. Cover and shake if solution is not premixed. Comes in different colors to prevent cross contamination. New mop system release mop cloth without touching
That's awesome! Thank you for your feedback and thanks for watching. 🙂
I appreciate your comment, Mai. I am researching mops now. I am a homeowner with MILES of TILES! LOL
Yes, a cellulose squeeze mop with a long handle could be a practical alternative to the heavy-duty mop bucket system
Kudos to you! You love what you do and it shows. You have given me good advice on the simplest of things, the basics that make big differences. I LOVE the "big red" Rubbermaid duster you recommended on another video. It makes my life much easier.
Thank you so much! Glad to be helpful
My wife and I run a cleaning business. Do you have any videos or recommendations on what shoes for cleaners?
I do, here is my recommendation ruclips.net/video/i8yJql8tDoM/видео.html Great question.
can’t imagine how much easier it is for housecleaners now
Pre-engineered floors changed the game for house cleaners. The old fashioned wood floors that we had to wax - not fun.
Well done! This helps a lot.. and has got me thinking about the various tasks that my new mop will need to accomplish.
Glad it was helpful. Thank you for sharing your feedback. You got this Tom! 🙂
I would have thought you have hired help Sir
Can you suggest the best mop which is cost effective too for wooden/ tiled floors ? i want a micro fibre one which is machine washable.
Hi Ramsha, I would suggest the Turbo Microfiber Mop, which you can find here: www.amazon.com/Microfiber-Mop-Hardwood-Floor-Cleaning/dp/B01CFIHGLA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?dchild=1&keywords=floor+cleaning+system&qid=1591890011&s=home-garden&sr=1-4&linkCode=sl1&tag=savvyc03-20&linkId=8b6be9fb88be1ac4959af009f2232481&language=en_US
It's great for both wooden and tiled floors, and you can reuse the pads.
I love love love your energy! ❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words!! And thanks for watching. Sending hugs. 🤗
Spin buckets…. Nice idea in theory, but in practice is a bit wanting. Going to try the Vileda Flip Mop for a while.
Keep me posted and let me know how you like it. Are you a homeowner or house cleaner when you speak of mopping floors?
@@AskAngelaBrown residential cleaner. Building the business slowly.
@@AskAngelaBrown LOL ok. will do.
Spontex Aqua Revolution System
have you ever used a straight squeegee and a cloth (cuban mop, I think they call it)?
Yay! I'm glad that this method works well for you! It might be not as common, because it may not be suitable for all types of floors
Yes definitely can’t use on slate. Bumpy. But that’s about it. Have you tried it?
Never covered adjusting a commercial mop handle or did I somehow miss it? 🤔

Asking for my own home. We have to dogs . What do you think about these robot vacuums. Thanks Angela Jennifer 🤩
Hey Jennifer, if you are willing to empty the robot vacuums daily they will pick up a lot of hair. It's not going to be a cure-all since dog hair doesn't land just on the floor and that is primarily where the robot vacuum will be.
@@AskAngelaBrown thanks I use regular vac. On couch. Thanks Jennifer 🤩
For the spin mop aren’t you just reusing the dirty waters after each spin????

Does the Bissell power steamer clean the grout on the tile floor in the bathroom
If it's ceramic tile, you should be able to use the Bissell steamer to get out the ground in dust. I love it because it's got a handheld attachment that separates from the floor part. This allows you to use the steamer for showers, grout, ovens, stainless steel and more.

Are you a professional house cleaner or a homeowner?
The Bissell in the description box is the best one to use for tile and grout?? I can’t find a video on solely tile.
There are lots of great units on the market that do the same or similar things. The key is to find one that feels good in your hand that is comfortable to use, and works well on the surface types in your home and is in line with your budget. Vacuums, mops and steamers are like shoes - there really isn't a one size fits all.

What homemade cleaning solution do u like to make for all floors?
THIS VIDEO JUST CONFUSED ME SOME MORE.
Sorry about that. Is there a specific mop you are interested in?
Do you use distilled water? Ever use vinegar to release mineral build up if tap water is used?
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. Distilled water for mopping? No. We use regular water for mopping unless there is something wrong with the water that will harm the flooring. And the vinegar - how do you mean?
Angela, what cleaner do you recommend for LVT floors?

It's been suggested to use a steam cleaner; however, I have been told my light grout will be darken forever.
So I fought anything was done
I don’t know what cleaning people have done.
And there my friend is the dilemma of mopping. You nailed it. Thanks for that response and your Swiffer tips. 👏👏👏
I love the idea for those flat mop heads but I hate how you have to wring them out with your hands and after a while that hurts your wrists. Ouch
Thanks so much for watching the show and leaving a comment. 👍
With the spin mop it looks like you're still putting the mop back into dirty water.
Many spin mops only have one bucket. If that is the case, you are correct. Spin mops (when dry, make the best baseboard or stair dusters.)
Let me know how you avoid dust into your home? I hate it.
I know right? Changing the air filter often, keeping doors and windows closed are minimizing tactics, but you'll still get dust - just not as much of it.
