🤍🥲
Do you have the track list from the Japanese City Pop video that got removed and also started with Kumiko Hara's Paradise?
As a Japanese DJ, I never thought one day old Japanese pop music becomes popular in overseas.
I wouldn't be suprised. It's fire, it's in the pocket, and production quality is usually top notch.
Trust me Sir, I am hooked. And I’m listening all the way from Accra,Ghana in West Africa. Quality music is timeless, lasts forever and travels far in todays social media age.
Who's gonna tell him it's been popular since 2016
I am mainlining this stuff on a daily basis 💜
In Brazil you can listen to citypop songs in some japanese restaurants.
Me at every transition: "Nice."
Japanese City pop is back on the menu boys and girls!
I waited so long T___T
Hello Shaqdi. Greetings from Japan✋
I am happy that Japanese pop music is loved all over the world. You chose a very nice song.
Toshiki Kadomatsu, who worked on Anri's albums "Heaven Beach", "Bi・Ki・Ni", "Timely!!", and "COOOL" is also good.
Especially from his second album to 1986's "Touch and Go".
Please keep digging for good songs👍
Thank you Shaqdi and MY ANALOG JOURNAL.
….sorry for my bad english😁
英語は上手です
Thank you for being such a Japanese music loving person. :) Analogue journal is a huge inspiration.
Thank you for the recommendations!
No reason to be sorry. Your English is better than some others' I've heard and who _should_ know better.
touch and go - sugoi!😍
the best thing about these vids is watching the dj's enjoying the hell out of themselves! this mix is absolute bliss.
I live in Tokyo. I miss old Japanese popular songs very much. Thanks for the nice mix.
I think your City Pop and J.Jazz sets is whats really made your channel, I think at the time they were quite ground breaking and I don’t detract from your other sets. Both genres especially the former don’t get the appreciation they deserve in the U.K, theres lots of special tunes to be unearthed in Japan, 70s/80s were special music times there.
It's what brought me here and has me coming back and re-watching them over and over again.
My first introduction to it was New Year's Eve 2020. Zag did a YT livestream of Japanese City Pop for a few hours. I rang in 2021 going down the JCP rabbit hole. Now JCP is ringing in another perfect Sunday morning.
I have to agree with this assessment Simon. It is how I found this channel and I have purchase quite a few vinyl albums of citypop and jazz after hearing some of their songs on this channel. Kumiko Hara "No Smoking" for example being the first one I can think of off the top of my head. My Analog Journal is Consistently excellent for finding new music to soothe the soul and lift the mood. I have found soviet jazz, brazillian pop from the 80s and even some Turkish music from the 70s that I loved hearing on her.
Well city pop has been on a rising in popularity a lot in youtube for the past years now, not that new or under appreciated
@@dariosaenz940 its true...but just not in the U.K...yet !
This kind of music brings so much peace to the heart while working on stressful matters.
That opener is one of the songs that hooked me to this channel in a long Lost mix. Cheers
Right? Same. In fact, I thought this ep was a re-air when I heard it.
PARIDISE! PARIDISE!
Oh man I've waited for a City Pop mix so bad! Absolutely loved the previous ones and absolutely loving this one as well! Thank you guys
I can't be the only one that noticed the playboi carti sample at 12:00 ! Love being a fan of multiple genres and connecting dots
Not me searching the comments for where I knew that from
kid cudi 😪
You know Carti loves city pop
i was like no way they boutta mix in a carti vynil. stopped me in my tracks
She wanna meet carti
really loved your setlist and your place with all that plants is awesome!
This set is 🔥 one of the best city pop ones I’ve heard. Keep crushing the game, Shaqdi!
I got into Citypop because of your legendary sets when I stumbled on this channel years ago. This was a welcome return to form as I recognized a lot fo the tracks on here. Thank you MAJ for all you and the guest DJs have done. I love all the new genres and music you exposed me to, but my heart and soul will always appreciate Citypop since this was the first of your sets that got me to follow you. Nostalgia was strong on this set, much love and respect to all of you!
Beautiful tracklist, I really appreciate it! You guys from Japan have a good taste to make music. Greetings from Brazil!
Thx Shaqdi and My Analog Journal!
Love these videos, always so chill with great vibes.
So happy to hear those lovely music choices 😍
great set. really enjoyed listening this morning 😊
Thanks for this awesome mix. Some of my favourites are here. Mai Yamame's Ta So Ga Re is so unctuous
finally! thanks for the cool mixes
The songs are faaaabulous. Thank you!
Thnak you so much for this. I'm truly amazed on how music can break barriers between cultures and countries that are really far away. I dream of mixing japanese city pop like you Shaqdi! Keep up your great work. Also thanks My Analog Joournal for this amazing content.
Greetings from Colombia
LOVE this! And great to see how the house plants have come on...and this channel
found out about japanese city pop and funk/jazz due to this channel and i'm forever in love with it^^ trying to get more people to listen to it more...makes everyday stuff much easier to get by...riding trains, shopping, cleaning, cooking, etc.... most of the time i'm dancing more than i walk ;) thank you for making life better
Despite not understanding Japanese other than some few words, I like the songs from there as they transmit some sort of peace feelings due to the way they are sang. Also this reminds me that the Japanese jazz set was my first incursion in this channel.
Wonderful set Shaqdi, love the Tatsuro Yamashita track, haven’t heard that before. ❤
such a cool playlist! Thank you for sharing!
Excellent playlist. Thank you!
I've never listened to this genre of music before and I'm in love.
This is SO good!!
Yes. I love it when you do a Japanese related session! More like this please :)
Best Japanese City Pop mix on RUclips for 10 years 👌👌
Lovely set!
Congrats and love from Peru!
Very smooth set. Enjoyed this from start to finish. And heard some new to me tracks. ❤.
Amazing !!!! Very nice set !!!
Oh, Paradise is so smooth! Great mix anyway, it made my day!
I’m so fascinated and I really didn’t know about the Japanese and their love and appreciation and affection for jazz or funky kind of American music I didn’t know about this till this year or actually the past few months on RUclips so thank you very much for sharing this I also discovered Tokyo groove some young girls that play funky jazz music they’re really good and very impressed with how much they love this type of music and the instruments they play so well .
Very smooth transition between tracks. GJ.
thoroughly enjoyed these sweet selections
Audio track sounds fantastic on my system. Thank you for your work.
City Pop is the best! Thank you for this!
Brilliant set!!
Nice mix!, Love it!
Mai Yamane's Ta So Ga Re is the song that got me into City Pop. It's such a great tune, her voice is amazing!
I had never heard of her before but I instantly recognized her voice. She was the singer for a bunch of Cowboy Bebop songs, all of which I adore. Awesome to come across some more of her work!
FIRE, this helped me edit a bunch of photos today. thanks :) :) :)
One of the best, so many gems!
Appreciated this playlist, keeping it for an intimate get together!
One of the best on this channel, can't stop returning to it so has given me hours of listening to some great music! Many examples throughout, but this mix got me turned onto Tatsuro Yamashita's Pocket Music album which is a total gem.
Woo new MAJ video to study & chill to!
This is a great and tasteful set, congrats. It contains one of my all-time favorites, Mai Yamane-Ta So Ga Re, a masterpiece. While the genre of "city pop" spans a wide spectrum and is a bit of a mixed bag, this set focuses on the good stuff which for me are jazz and funk elements combined with top notch musicianship, making pop for me bearable (I am into jazz primarily). Japan is an endless source of music, the postman brings me quite frequently those square-shaped boxes from Tokyo 🙂
Wonderful selection.
この年代の曲達が大好きになりました。ありがとうございます感謝
always down for a city pop upload!
BRAVISSIMA. Bellissima selezione musicale. Grazie.
Oooooh looove the set and the gear 👀👀
Really love Citypop and really enjoyed this 43 minutes with shaqdi
Totally in love with Shaqdi ever since...
Fantastic mix! New follower and sub. :D
Great set! friends and I are listening in discord RIGHT NOW.
the bass is SO GOOD !
i love it ! 😍
Wow! That's amazing! Greetings from Brazil.
This playlist is so perfect...
A NEW CITYPOP PLAYLIST AT LAST !!
Passez un bon dimanche 🫂💚
the tempo change at around 5:00 was sooooo clean
Thanks!
Love this. Don't understand the language but love the r&b neo soul vibes.
great set
Transitions were BUTTER. Need this one downloaded in HQ.
Thank you from Poland!
The two ads between every song is the real dealbreaker here
ublock origin
brave browser
Everybody start vibin when Ta So Ga Re comes on lol
I dont understand japanese at all, but citypop has been my go-to genre of music since 4 years
This is 🔥🔥🔥
La mejor que he visto en esta clase de videos. Genial todo.
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good tracks!
Mai Yamane (12:00) is the singer that performed The Real Folk Blues for The Seatbelts (known from Cowboy Bebop)
so beautiful people, well dressed, with excellent gear and rich, but normal people are very grateful to let us enjoy part of your collection in those mixes
Good set, Shaqdi! Your first video got me to subscribe to this channel so it's nice to see another one.
If anyone likes Mariya Takeuchi's "Oh No, Oh Yes," and maybe wants two versions, I'd also like to recommend you listen to the original version that she wrote for Akina Nakamori. It's got a slower R&B vibe, but my God does it hit the soul. Both are good.
The late Hong Kong superstar Anita Mui recorded it as well (searchable on YT in several places) but there is a superior live performance of it (search YT for " Anita Mui Fantasy Gig 2002 [HD]" timestamp 31:28) must see!
OMG thank you
Hitting the workout real good 💪
Perfect!
Thanks for Sharing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sweet, nice one for this week. :D
that opening is gold
beautiful💖
This is the Masterpiece! ❤
Genial la musica!!! Hace un tiempo ya que me converti en fanatico de Tatsuro Yamashita pero en Argentina es muy dificil conseguir sus discos.
PERFECTION :)
Thanks ~
amazing
On the theme: "find new and distinct musics for yours Sunset session to don't let the crowd boring, I listen Analog journal".
Thank the staff.
Japanese City Pop never misses, and neither does Shaqdi !
Mai Yamane - Taso Gare has such a wonderful voice. I think I am gonna get that one on vinyl. Also to see Hitomi Toi on here. Her music is also top notch.
This set has really been everything I love it here
Damn this is gooood
Need another French Orchestral Funk vid! Watched the other one too many times by now
uffff i love this in the morning
