    You got such a smiling face...in a very cheerful way you played all those shots...very good explaination and a lively personality you got...keep up the good work..:)
    And how near to the table can we do the loop successfully? As where i play, i get like maximum 5 feet from the table.

    The coach hits really nice! But I have difficulty in keeping the bat angle uniform from backswing to forward swing, and another is, although every coach says you should be relaxed, I don't really understand how I can relax when the ball runs fast in my direction.

      Thank you. It's crucial to keep your muscles relaxed when you play table tennis because it’s a quick sport, and the more relaxed your muscles are the quicker you can move, hit the ball, and the more accuracy you have. Focus on your breathing (holding your breath makes you tight so don't hold your breath, breath, the exhalation releases the tension), moving around between points, and encouraging yourself to help you be more relaxed. Relax your shoulders, arms, and wrist by focusing on your breathing and trusting in your shots. I hope it helps.

    Dora, what are the approximate BAT ANGLES and ARM MOVEMENT ANGLES that you use for your OPENING FOREHAND LOOP against HEAVY BACKSPIN? And how do these same angles compare to the BAT ANGLES and ARM MOVEMENT ANGLES you use for your FOREHAND COUNTER-LOOPS against HEAVY TOPSPIN? From your video, it appears to me that against BACKSPIN, your FOREHAND LOOP BAT ANGLE of about 60° and your ARM ANGLE is about 45°; and against TOPSPIN, your FOREHAND COUNTER-LOOP BAT ANGLE is about 45° and your ARM ANGLE is about 30°. Is this correct?

      Approximately, yes, it's correct.

    Pls suggest me how play against short balls, basically under spin, and side spin going towards my back hand...pls..

    • @DoraKurimay
      @DoraKurimay  3 года назад +1

      It's important to stay low, bend your knees. It helps you handle short balls. When the ball is short, always step in with your right foot (if you are right-handed) and keep your elbow in front. If it's short underspin you should push the ball back, and if it's short sidespin you should flick (flip) the ball.

      Thanks. I've just tried the new Joola Dynaryz ACC rubber. It’s half medium soft. It’s bouncy and very spinny. It provides great spin, speed and control.

    great video! thanks. Question. On **heavy** backspin (like a chop)...i keep hitting the ball into the net (and i feel like i'm brushing the back of the ball pretty fast). Do you have a set of steps to diagnose what's wrong? i really want to counter chops w/ forehand loops...and want to get more consistent w/ this. e.g., how much friction vs forward movement? does the forward movement come just from turning the hips? should i keep bat angle consistent angle (as it appears you do in this video) or do you need to open up the bat a bit? or is this simply a matter of driving more up and forward velocity (same bat angle) thru even stronger hip movement?

    • @DoraKurimay
      @DoraKurimay  3 года назад +2

      Hi Steve,
      It’s very important what angle you hold your paddle when you contact the ball from underspin. You have to open your racket angle more when you loop from underspin because you want to contact the back of the ball (topspin you have to close more your paddle angle since you want to contact the top of the ball). When you decide about the angle of your paddle based on the how heavy is underspin you don’t change it throughout your forehand loop. Ideally you generate spin and power from your legs, hips, arm, forarm and wrist. Your whole body has to be synthesized and move together. It’s like imagine you want to toss a medicine ball from your right leg to forward (if you are rightly). If you send me your video I would be happy to give you feedback.

      @@DoraKurimay your advice was good! thanks. this week, when i played, i focused on opening the bat angle just a touch and keeping the angle consistent...all the while still doing proper weight transfer and a bit of a "whipping" action w/ the bat arm (keeping it more relaxed, except for tension to accelerate the forearm). keeping the wrist pretty static tho.
      i got way more conversions/opening shots to work! seems like i still need to work on brushing the ball more tho...to get more pop on it when it hits the other side.

      @@DoraKurimay i do have one other technique question. I have a problem getting good spin on my pendulum serves. i cant figure it out. i'm turning the body, trying to snap the wrist, come under the ball...but not that great of spin. i see some others (usually a lot higher ranked than me) with an even smaller service motion in pendulum getting crazy spin. wtf? do you have a video on this? plus one on backspin, topspin, and disguise for pendulum.
