That is special because trials makes it so rewarding when you finally platinum something you couldn't. Hours and hours of trying. I could t finish extremes on the 1st 3 games but now I can gold and even platinum some.
Hey doughnut - I became dead serious about trials 5 months ago, and finding your channel was an outright godsend. You’re become my guru, love you man !
Please consider making instructional videos where a fan (of your's) tries to complete a track and you help him/her by explaining what he/she does wrong. Also please consider using slow motion in your videos - That's how I learned to bunny hop: I recorded a hop performed by another and played the recording in slow motion. I learned I need a fairly long lean to left, followed by a very quick (as quick as you can) lean to right and immediately back to left.
Dude. Im stoked right now. Ps app claims ive put 12k hours on fusion. I think maybe a third of that ive spent on rising. But i had no idea there was a way to let people test out your unfinished tracks. Thats awesome
Your 10th point is spot on to what I’ve already been doing. Pretty quickly I learned to have multiple pieces of paper with notes and goals. It keeps me from getting bored cause if I get stuck on something such as speed running easy tracks, I might move on to contracts and plug away on those or start working on extremes etc.. anything to keep me from doing ninja lol. It’s procrastination really, cause once I start seriously working on the ninja tracks I know I’m gonna be spending a lot of time with it. But this video sums up why I love this game. I havnt put this game down since I gave it a shot in Nov 2020 and I’m already in the top 1% (4400-ish) and although my goal is to be the best, as you said aim high, I’m starting to envision where I’ll more realistically land. Top 2000s shouldn’t be too hard for me, but who knows. Also it helped when I first started to bounce between Fusion and Rising every 2 months. When I’d switch over to the other game, I’d find my old times laughable after 2 months of practice with the other title. Cheers!
This is a great video. I'll share a few observations: 1. Yes, extended breaks are great, and you won't lose much. I hadn't played in at least 4 years, and picked up Evolution and Rising. I felt like I was back to where I was within just a few hours. 2. When trying to improve, you have to decide just how good you really want to be. To your point you need to set shorter-term goals, but for me in my life, I don't have the time to be one of the top riders. I can accept that, and make that trade-off. 3. In my experience, the best way to set faster times on easy/beginner tracks is to progress further into the harder difficulty tracks. That's where you really learn how to control your bike, and you can feel the physics. That's what will allow you to make the very subtle adjustments to the way you tackle the easier tracks, and really zip through them.
I bought my dad trials rising just for the "University" portion of it because fusions were meh in my opinion. I'm so proud of him, he was able to beat the "GigaTrack" earlier today and it literally made me feel warm inside. Thanks for all of the help in this amazing game!

I’ll need to check out that Ninja University track. I am a veteran of the Trials series and has played all of them (Legends, 2: SE, HD, Evolution, Fusion, Rising), but the reason I can’t do the higher level Ninjas is because the core game doesn’t actually teach you the skills that are needed for Ninja Tracks. Most Ninja skills are for Ninja tracks. I will need a break from Ninjas, though, because I practiced a lot on the hill climb section of Rise of the Dragon so much that my index finger got screwed up. I’m focusing on getting the rest of the achievements.
Great video! A few things that I always try to remember: The biggest difference between a low/mid/top tier player in mindset. The better you get and further you push you think differently. You'll watch old replays and constantly say "why tf did I do that/what was I thinking?" (at least for speedrunning). Essentially work smarter not harder Mimicry without context only gets you so far, and the mental game is a big boy to deal with. Understand when you need a break because going too hard hurts you in the long run
Take breaks was important for me. I stopped playing for like 4 weeks cuz of pc Problems. Yesterday i recogniced that i get better flow and an deeper understanding about how to ride fast and effective those typse of obsticales. I Managed to ride 2 Extreme tracks with the time of 10% fast riders for those tracks. Crazy :) better and deeper understanding for leaning, hops, front wheel height control. I tend to take long breaks and can agree with what you stated about coming back and being able to pass things I previously had trouble with. I can't explain why that is, but it might have to do with being more relaxed and even more excited about getting back into the game. Before Rising was released, I had taken about a year off from Fusion. As soon as I got wind that Rising was a thing, which was in late November of 2018, I hit Fusion hard and just worked at all the extremes I failed to finish. After the release of Rising I spent a solid 8 months from launch to the end of October just playing this game, and had improved far more in that time than I had in the last three years of playing Fusion. I think the key take away, for me at least, is that excitement and enthusiasm for the game pushed me to better myself and try harder tracks that I would have passed up all together on Fusion. I'm not great at the game by any means, but I am able to pass low level ninjas and do things I once thought I would never be able to simply because I never tried them until Rising. Edit: Also, I chase your ghosts in TC tracks when available. It's helped a lot with my speed running.
Thanks for another great video! I loved your recent track "stockpiled". I felt it was in that perfect "goldylocks zone" for me. Wound up getting about 200 faults. :]
Just working through Ninja University. I 0 zero all standard extremes in about an hour depending on difficulty but I just get totally stuck on green belt. Real life uni is finished for me now so it’s time to hit the ninja gym
For some reason I cant access the website where you can search for certain tracks. It says that the website is not safe. Is there maybe an alternative or do you have tips how to search for some tracks?
Tip #9 - am i the only One who feels Like sometimes, when i Come back from a very long break, (weeks to months sometimes), as soon as i restart playing im even better than i was before leaving ? Like, a track i was stuck on suddenly feels almost easy without training much more on it ! 😂
Thanks so much for trying to help so many , I know what you mean in lacking in an area , I am a keyboard player and can’t vertical clime for my life I can usually manage to get the 3 to last checkpoint in rise of the dragon with only around 20 faults and only every passes it once (with 200 faults) and finished the rest of the track adding only 5 more faults , any recommendations for me train hill climbs on?
There are a couple of great climb tracks CavemanDave made near the beginning of rising: Mount,Rising [EZ] and Peak Performance [EZ]. Also, if you check Ninja-central.com and filter ninja lvl 1-2 stuff you should be able to find some tracks with solid climbing skills. In the description for many tracks I have put "climb track." Let me know if you want any more recommendations.
I've been playing Trials Frontier on Android since it came out, about 5yrs ago, and this version of Trials has always had Bike Specific Leaderboards which is why I was shocked to see that Trials Rising didn't have this feature from day-one as well !! So I would ask the Devs to add the LeaderBoards into Rising for us on every RedLynx Live Stream I could catch (with Shogun and Badger after Rising's release) so when we got the update which finally gave us the Bike Specific LeaderBoards I couldn't help but think that I played some small part in getting them added into the game when we did (even though I probably didn't have any influence at-all, because who am I other than an avid player lol) Anyway, the LeaderBoards alone give us so much more incentive to play with ALL the bikes and help us to expand our skills all-round imo.....Many Thanks RedLynx !! Also, Thanks for this Video Doughnut3000, it's sure to help a lot of new and some seasoned players as well, Nice one !! Keep Up the Great Work & Keep On Riding.....Cheers !! (Edited to spell your name right Doughnut)
Everyone can play a part in the development of updates. Thanks for talking to them about it so consistently. I had no idea it was like that for Frontier, I only played about a couple hours of that game and didn't go too in depth with it.
Hey, I actually struggle with your tip #7: watching replays, from a user interface standpoint. As far as I can tell, I can only navigate the leaderboard list by skipping to myself or to the #1. What I want to watch is probably 1-2 thousand players in front of me (the next medal up). Is there a way to skip to the top or bottom of a medal? Otherwise I have to hit the "next 10" button 100 times, which I am not doing.
You should try to add players to your friends list that are at the next medal above you so you don’t have to spam the next 10 button. I wish there was a way to skip immediately to the next medal, it would be a very convenient feature.
@@Doughnut_3000 i realise this is months old but its a good tip to add friends. I 0 fault platinum everything in trials rising except ninjas and its so satisfying and one big help for medium and hard tracks was having a friend who was faster than me whos ghost i could see to track my progress. if you 0 fault extreme you will likely hit the time unless you are really concentrating obstacle to obstacle. im now looking at getting into ninjas but i dunno if ive got the skill
You can do ninjas if you have the passion and drive for it. They’re a much different experience from speedrunning, but worth it in the long run. It’s an Infinite amount of replayability since new ninjas are constantly coming out each week. Pushing yourself past what you thought was impossible is the ninja way, that’s how I got so hooked on playing them!
@@Doughnut_3000 green belt is still a stumbling block for me. I assume the belts aren't even hard ninjas. I'll have to have a look on t.central to see if theres any low levels to try out
@@hustler666100 Green belt is a difficult ninja for sure, it would be a great idea to look up some ninja central tracks to help push you past it. I think it’s a huge jump to go from orange-green belt, but it’s an even bigger gap from blue-black belt. On ninja central I would look up ninja lvl 3 stuff, and try to find tracks that feel really awkward for you and make you learn new techniques.
Great video and I think I will be able to use many of these tips to improve! Currently I am stuck on green belt (first CP). I've finished white, yellow and orange all on the helium. I've been thinking trying them on the mantis, would you feel this would help me improve on green belt?
Definitely go back through the first three belts with the mantis. Also, you should try out many ninja tracks on track central. This will undoubtedly make you better and allows you to have near infinite content!
@@Doughnut_3000 Thanks a lot! Have not had much time last few days but managed to finish white belt and came close on yellow. Will surely check out track central as well! Cheers!
Thanks for the video man. Very good tips overall! I can pretty much plat all career track in the game (except some weirdass microtracks that are plain aweful lol) but diamond, I don t think I can ever reach that level... (Started trial last year tho) This top 0.01% ridders in the world will remain out of my reach, no clue how the hell I could ever get there 🤷♂️
Thanks Random, you'd be surprised how far you can go with this game. I never thought I'd pass ninja lvl 5's, 6's, and definitely not 7's, but here we are now. Diamonds seemed like a foreign language for me since I was not that into speedrunning. Slowly I started grinding career tracks I liked, and now I'm hooked on getting every diamond. Your perception of the game changes significantly the more you play it. Keep at it and you'll be mining diamonds.
@@Doughnut_3000 Well maybe one day yes, I can't really seem to get bored of that game yet. For Fusion I managed to plat really easily (less than 2 month ago when I tried after my first runs) in roughly 3 to 10 run by tracks. I think I may have some extreme still to check out! Also there's 2 10euros DLC that I do not own on fusion, unfortunately it's locking me from many track central runs. But still tons of awesome ones. I find plat on fusion way easier than on rising tbh; to me rising plat were mostly like perfect cuts runs without the most optimal speedrun skills. But fusion really feels like just a few cut, decent speed overall and this is enough. Do you have some track suggestions may they be on fusion/rising and track central or not to practice the speedruns skills ? (Around orange belt atm in ninja but didn't try for several months; didn't try that much either yet as I feel I may hard block for now on green, also really loving the speedrunning feels)
I've been playing trials since I was 5 in 2011 with Trials HD and I still remember waiting for Trials Evolution to download when it first came out but yet I still can't do what Doughnut is doing in the video lol.
1. If you are getting no where and feel you're worse, put the game down for a couple of days and come back to it. Somehow, I play better after a couple of days and can complete CPS and tracks that I couldn't before. 2. Play the utter fuck out of hard tracks, ones you know you will struggle with, don't worry about faulting. 3. Play easier speedrun tracks, you learn quite a lot. 4. Try and complete the contracts, I know they are tedious, but you learn to control the bike doing wheelies and flips and shit. 5. Don't try and just pass a CP, if you fall over the CP line by accident, go back and do it again and master it.
What i did is that i stayed at one checkpoint for a long time even though i managed it by even luck or skill. And just replayed that checkpoint untill i made it all the time. Then i put it all behind me and did other tracks. Next time i played that track i did that checkpoint first try without struggle and wondered where i struggled XD
Right now, I'm to the point where I have Gold at least on every track except the 2 Extremes from the Route 66 DLC and I have passed White Belt. I think I made it to CP 2 or 3 of Yellow and could not pass it, I'm kind of stuck and don't know how to make the push to progress any further
I would check out more ninja tracks on the website ninja-central. I think I put the link in the description. Myself and a few others helped put hundreds of low level ninjas on there to help push riders to the next level. You should definitely give that a shot and find tracks that are in that Goldilocks zone, where you’re getting hundreds of faults but are still able to progress through a track. Learning how to do new techniques can help improve your gameplay drastically, and to do that you need to play stuff that’s outside your comfort. Hope this helps👍
trials is all about the faults and the constant retrying while grinding the same level for what seems like 30 minutes but then you check the time and 4 hours have gone by. Personally i have always liked the hard difficulty tracks.
I agree, but it can be really off-putting if someone who's just starting the game and don't think they can deal with that type of commitment or failure.
Hey no problem, you can find the info in my discord or the trials discord. I also posted it on Trials Facebook group and reddit, but it’s probably tough to find in those at this point
You said you have over 1 million faults, is this just a guess or is there a way to see what your total faults are? I checked my Ubisoft account and found some stats but not faults. I'm just morbidly curious how many I have.
It was a stat you can look at on trials fusion. It was something like “clones used” and it was over 1 million at the time of making this. That’s not even counting how many I probably had on rising. I wish there was a stat for rising showing how many times you faulted or restarted a specific track.
@@Doughnut_3000 Thanks, yeah that's what I was wondering, the stats for Rising. I've only just picked up Fusion so I haven't really gotten into that game yet but for Rising my faults are probably insane. Especially since I played it mostly on Switch with the Joycons. Getting through Inferno without a trigger for the gas was a nightmare but I finally got gold.
I was one of the trials fusion masters not the greatest but I was top 10 on just about every track uploaded by players. Not game core maps those maps I was 1000s down the list but on the ninja stuff only 5 people passed I could hit 1st. Just grind it out. BMX I was always 1st on the board ide make the BMX float. I loved the red wheel blue wheel stuff most. If I could finish it. IF.... But now I'm trying trials rising and what a F mess. The simplicity of fusion sold it. You can pick up and play basic screens and I don't even see a top 10 board yet. I haven't seen anywhere people upload tracks to but I'm sure its there I'm still grinding for the bike stuck on the 4 stroke 450cc atm. The biggest HUGE POS wrong with the new game is the bs ghosts loading times are insane and I'm on ps5 it makes no sense.
The thing about Trials is,you plateau at your own max skill level and it's almost impossible to progress. I've been playing since day 1,trials hd. I cant balance constantly consistently on 1 wheel...after over 10 years. I can barely land on an uphill without bouncing off. Ninja wall climbs on 1 wheel are impossible,I have no idea how u can feather the gas just right to creep off without gassing off. I have no idea how u can put that tiny input into the trigger,me and my friend have tried for over a decade. Cover that
I mean, I’ve played since 2021 and have 1.5k hours on rising, landing on vertical walls was something I learned quite early when I first unlocked white belt. Atm on rising I’m on blue belt and I’m at around ninja lvl 2 - 3 On fusion im lvl 1 lol and I have 200 hours on that If you really have been trying for 10 years to do something I’d consider a “basic” ninja technique then to be quite honest … I don’t really know what to say ahhhh Although wall climbing on fusion is a completely new level of challenging for me at least
Been playing these games for years now from hd to rising ,, dont have a clue how to maintain a wheelie, jumping on the spot, endos , going up vertical walls,, tried practising spending time ,, all that happens is my body and head becomes hot lol... you should do private tuition, ill pay you hourly to train me,, like how I was predicted a E grade in math and then I got private tuition and I ended up with a B in my exams
I would love to do private lessons on trials. I actually did that awhile back on Fusion, but I've learned so much more since then. Are you on discord at all? That's one of the best ways to reach me if you want to talk about it. I have the links for my discord and the Trials Community in the description.
omg i have now met someone who loves trials more than me.. when XRP becomes $250 lets meet up .. i will pay you just for being a dedicated trails person... if youre truly dedicated you will know 'Lestrope' he was No1 on trials HD... He was my arch enemy in 2008/9 i wish i knew who he was

Tip #9 - am i the only One who feels Like sometimes, when i Come back from a very long break, (weeks to months sometimes), as soon as i restart playing im even better than i was before leaving ? Like, a track i was stuck on suddenly feels almost easy without training much more on it ! 😂
Really good video doughnut! ;)
"Tip 2: Master throttle control" yikes when playing kb haha
Thanks for the tips anyway, your videos helped me a lot !
Haha yeah it's a lot tougher mastering throttle on keyboard, just need to get the rhythm down with your taps.
Great helpfull video! 👌 nice channel also. ✌
Thankyou, Sensai!
I've been playing trials since I was 5 in 2011 with Trials HD and I still remember waiting for Trials Evolution to download when it first came out but yet I still can't do what Doughnut is doing in the video lol.
Keep at it and always be pushing yourself, you will exceed the doughnut one day I guarantee it
Really nice video man, you made some great points. Good stuff :)
@@Doughnut_3000 thanks for taking the time man especially on an older video. Love the content
@@WhydTheyChangeOurNames did ya finish yellow?
@@jason6171 I have not still
realest shit i ever heard. subscribed.
Does he mention switch throttle ccontrol?
The trigger button is better for direct speed
Right stick is better for more precise movements, like climbing
trials is all about the faults and the constant retrying while grinding the same level for what seems like 30 minutes but then you check the time and 4 hours have gone by.
Personally i have always liked the hard difficulty tracks.
A high total fault count should be something you are proud off
I agree, but it can be really off-putting if someone who's just starting the game and don't think they can deal with that type of commitment or failure.
Sorry to ask, but where do I find the info for the lastest track building contest?
Hey no problem, you can find the info in my discord or the trials discord. I also posted it on Trials Facebook group and reddit, but it’s probably tough to find in those at this point
Thank you!!
666 subs, HELL Yeah xD ... Nice Video :)
lol thanks big D
I remember when I discovered there is a max amount of faults
Atm on rising I’m on blue belt and I’m at around ninja lvl 2 - 3
On fusion im lvl 1 lol and I have 200 hours on that
If you really have been trying for 10 years to do something I’d consider a “basic” ninja technique then to be quite honest … I don’t really know what to say ahhhh
Although wall climbing on fusion is a completely new level of challenging for me at least
As for keeping your front wheel off the walls that’s literally throttle control think of it like throttle control + small throttle boost and repeat
How about when you do this on real life.
