Alright show of hands, who was expecting to see a Triumph in the top spot? I guess I just haven't spent enough time with our giveaway Street Triple R... If you want to win it head over to yammienoob.co and sign up!
Why does everyone hate the Gladius?
Number one should have been a turbo B-king! 😄
Yammie Noob bandit 600 had a massive impact on the naked scene before the Sv don’t know where I’d put it on my list but it would have to be in there for sure
Gotta tell you Yam, this was one of the best videos you made so far. Excellent clips, choices and commentary! And also the song for some reason. Dramatic but effective.
Honestly surprised the Street Triple didn't win top spot. MCN voted it bike of the decade, after all. I've test ridden one and they really are impeccable. Docile enough to commute on, that turns into a grin inducing animal when you give it some beans. And the howl from the airbox is quite unique.
Anyone who titles their video as "soundcheck of x bike" but just idles the thing belongs in hell.
Yep acceleration vids only please.... otherwise, great video
I know like wtf is the point? You gotta rev that shit
@@abayasugen8446 u gotta warm it up a little before u start revving that sheit boys. jus saying-
Ducati Monster is so pretty. I remember when it came out in the 90s and I still think it's one of the best looking bikes
check out Moto Guzzi's Griso: truly a work of art
I was down to 4 bikes: Monster, ZRX, 919, Buell. I got the 919. I always wanted to see how the 919 compared to the Monster in terms of handling the twisties and the 919 needs a bit of suspension work to be great, but otherwise, very happy with the 919 and they seem to be value priced.
Definitely a timeless bike
I've owned a 620 Dark, but my next bike will be an SV650.
The Monster is, for me, the best looking bike ever, but the Ducatis are so damn unreliable... 🥺
I love the monster as well but to afford to buy it or maintain it you have to be financially strong not the average paid guy.
1 as an SV650 owner I came specifically for the thumbnail
2 Bikes are like a good woman, they look good dressed but are better naked and we happily spend all our money on them
3 God I love a naked Streetfighter look
Streetfighter FTW
Jesus dude. Misogyny much...
I agree. I have an 09 sfv650 gladius and is my first bike. I’d love to get a Ducati monster 821 or streetfighter 848.
my first bike, which i got in august is an 03 sv650s and completely agree with yammies thoughts on the sv650
it can do no wrong
Good choices!! MT07/09 are both great bikes but SV650 deserves the win. Held its game for a long time, had its Brittany Spears moment with the gladius and came back stronger with the 3rd gen! Plus I've a got a 2017 so that helps my opinion!
As soon as you said that the Ducati monster is second, because of accessibility, I knew the No.1 will be the SV650. Similar mechanics, but way more common everywhere.
Exactly
Suzuki bandit, the bike that made me want a bike.
totally true...
the bandit 600 naked, was my first bike.
Haha love to see this, the bandit is my first bike
Had 1200 Bandit put 35000 miles on it. Was one of the best bikes I ever owned.
I still daily my b12, exceptional all around bike
Hey Slamie Boobs, Thanks to you, I just bought my first bike last week! Its an MT09 and I am so in love with it
I love the cb900f. They’re beautiful bikes and have a timeless look. Fun to ride as well, they’re so simple and reliable
Before the B-King and the BMW K1200R, there was the naked Blackbird, also known as the Honda X11. The X11 has been my daily ride for the last 13 years
I think everyone was expecting a triumph, we’re all still waiting for that sponsorship
Already have a contact at Triumph, already doing cool stuff. They flew me out to Morocco in Feb lol
@@yammienoob You luckieeeee luckieeee luckieeeee, baaaaaaarrrrstarrrrrdddd!
@@yammienoob did they fly you back?
Thanks for putting the great 919 on the list! MUCH LOVE!
My first naked was a Bandit 600, second naked was a Triumph Speed Triple and now I own a 2019 SV650. Love them.
Yamaha MT10 is my all time naked favorite ❤
Glad someone mentioned the MT10...
MT10 all the way
Had to be the SV at the top spot, loved mine, was such a fun bike, thinking a getting another one for around town ...... 🤘
Surprised not to see any bandits on this list :(
James 1984 Agreed. The Bandit 600/1200 came out in the mid 90’s. The 1200 was a performer too
I know right?
But who tf wants a suzuki 🦦
mickeknah Many people actually.
I have a 1999 suzuki bandit 600, gsf x, love it
I think you nailed the final two choices, noice!
I have just sold my 2001 sv650n yesterday. Best starter bike you could ever want. Lots of fun, really low maintenance and it handles like a dream. Finally bought myself an MT07 👍
Sold my black 2001 back in 2014. Will always have a place in my heart. My first ride.
Yammie, How about a future presentation on the best street bikes to sport a kick starter? Yes, there are so many riders that don't know that street motorcycles once had these mechanisms, but it could serve as an educational vehicle ( pun intended ) for presenting a part of motorcyclings glorious past.
Z900 has every bells and whistles for a no nonsense naked bike ! Its powerful, torqy, light, and comfortable with grayish handling with basic electronics and that sweet snarl from 4 cylinder 900cc engine !
I got my Z900RS last year, it's a fabulous machine. I know it's geared differently from the non retro version but both are fantastic naked bikes.
@@RevertiveDeath Hell yea... kawasaki never compromise on performance! Best in class for the price we pay , only thing that goes down is that fancy rider electronics and traction control , crap !!! I can enjoy riding it all day long !
I totally agree. I have a sv650 from '99. It's absolutely the most fun you can have on a medium naked bike and you can find good ones for 2000$ sometimes!
Got a 2016 Triumph Street Triple as my first bike yesterday and properly rode it for the first time today. I absolutely love it. Awesome bike
Hey hey yammie glad my bike made the list ,number 5 👍great video man keep them coming
You just had to cut the video right when the Aprilia Tuono started revving!
Nevermind, I'll go rev my own bike 😁
"Looking back in hindsight with 20-20 vision... Get it? Get it? "
Dat dad joke tho. Priceless.
The Aprilia:listen to my badass akropoplastic exhaust...
My Buell xb : Hold My Beer...
Finally... Great content
Great video! Perfect list and get like original yammi with current production value. Didn’t hurt that I thought your ranking was spot on. I do have a soft spot for my FZ07 tho...
Thanks, this video made my day. my first bike was a VTR250. From then on, I only wanted naked bikes. My 2nd bike was a Triumph Street Triple R, i did my first mono on that bike. After that I had a 2010 FZ1n, and that bike was modified and scare the poop out of me. I'm now on an SV650. I got it over a lot of recommendations by friends, and I love it. It just sounds so good. and it's just great to ride.
I understand the concept, and I’ve owned and ridden some of the bikes that made your list, but I’d like to register that the best naked sport bike I’ve ridden is the MV Agusta Brutale 1090 RR back in 2013. It was an espiritual experience 🙂
Yammie!!! U forgot to mention the sv1000 naked in your #1 spot, my bike feels slighted and doesnt want to run now, see what ur doing to your fans? Love your content, keep it up yams, i need more podcasts 😅😅😎😎
I love that the sv650 made top spot. I knew it would be on this list tho. I have never owned one personally, but it's like one of my dream bikes.
Honorable Mention: Kawasaki (ZR250) Balius. Not a large engine, not super fast, but it's an inline 4-cyl with a redline of 19k. We'll never get a naked screamer like this again :(
All the Japanese manufacturers had a version of the same idea of an over-engineered naked four-cylinder 250 in the 1990s: the Hornet 250 for Honda, the Balius for Kawasaki, the Bandit 250 for Suzuki, and the Zeal for Yamaha. All were great fun.
@@jacksonallan954 An ex-girlfriend was a naked screamer, too. I might miss her sometimes but the neighbours probably don't.
Edit: but seriously: I'm keeping an eye on my local sales for all of these. But not the ex.
My current motorcycle is a 2021 Street Triple R, but my previous was a 2007 SV650S. It definitely deserved the number 1 spot. The power wasn't insane but the torque and the lovely exhaust note was amazing.
I’ve got an 06’ k1200R. Glad to see it here. Blast to ride. Very intuitive handling
Damn, I appreciate the fact that you include exhaust sound bytes. I know, aftermarket systems [insert excuse here], but I appreciate it. 🤙
Love your vids
no Honda within top 10... That explains the extra 11 at the begining.
This channel is a bad joke..
The SV650 came at the right time to be successful. Sporting V-twins were really taking off thanks to Ducati pushing Honda and Suzuki to develop racing bikes to compete against them on the track, which provided exposure and an alternative to 15 years of 4-cylinder sport bike convention. Prior V-twin street bikes like the Hawk 650 and VX800 were objectively great bikes, but came at a time when people were only interested in the screaming inlines that came about in the late 80's and early 90's. My personal favorite naked is a bike closely connected to several of the bikes on this list despite not being on it, nor being very remember able at all. The Bandit 400 is nearly a match for the 1st gen SV in every respect and has a 14K rpm inline GSX-R engine despite being pushed as an "entry level" bike. It also looks a hell of a lot like a Ducati Monster despite being released several years prior. The GSF400 Bandit had all the character and fun that the GS500E sorely lacked, even though the 500E sold well and lasted for decades as a more pedestrian, but near rival for the SV650. The later air-cooled Bandit 600/1200 did OK, but in my opinion never had the slick look and racer-naked feel of the original, now forgotten Bandit.
The B-king handled like a barge which went completely against the grain for hypernakeds.
The BMW K1200R is damn rapid, really nice to ride too.
The gen1 aprilia tuono is the original hypernaked streetfighter hooligan and should of definitely been on the list. That bike is what started it all.
Papa yam just knows what content his squidlets crave
Ha! That's awesome! My first bike was a '82 CB750SC. And my second is(soon to be was) the Honda 919(Hornet) . I've been up and down and across the nation on that thing. Such a sweet, effortless, powerful ride. Meanwhile the 750SC was a black and chrome BEAST with 4 into 4 exhaust that I still haven't heard anything like again. Loved that thing. So glad to see them both here.
As sv650s and gs500 owner I feel appretiation towards this chanel.
Totally concur on the #1 spot; the SV has been a legend since day 1🤘
OMG i love your videos
Passed my bike test in 99 and the SV was my first bike, absolutely loved it
Agree with the Speed Triple. I remember watching Mission Impossible 2 in TV and there's a scene where Tom Cruise is riding a Speed Triple - man that was so cool :D
That was the point in my life where I started thinking about motorcycles - especially triumph motorcycles..
Triples are still sexy - but the round headlights were awesome.
You put the duke just a few spots too low for my liking. It is the ultimate embodiment of what a naked should be.
Yah, nakeds shouldn't just be racers with no fairings, higher bars, and detuned motors. No, they should be fun, torquey hoon machines and SD1290 is if you took that concept to 11. Though as a 1290 owner I might be biased..
If he did not introduce "The King : Superduke" , , , I would hunt him down and kill him very slowly :) :) :)
Thanks for throwing the EFF ZED ONE in there. I am 60 years old, and I never had this much fun in my life. I been on one for just less than a year, and it hasn't killed me 😆
How did the Suzuki 1250 Bandit not make this list? Very popular in the US and Europe.
Totally agree, all bandits, esp 600 & 1200 are worthy of this list...
Just bought 1200 and selling old 600 so totally agree
I rode a sv650 fir the first time about a month ago , I heard a lot of hype but thought it's guna be some boring beginer bike and people only say its good because it's a first bike and it gets the job done . Boy was I wrong , I loved it, it feels easy to ride yes but gas a proper muscular feel, with a can on it sounded awesome, like a muscle car on 2 wheels and has plenty of usable fun power. Even a beginer can pin the throttle and learn to launch that thing and it will beat pretty much anything to 60, I had so much fun on it, I think ite awesome, and I ride litre bikes normally, I rode a z650 and the sv650 is much better , the cbr650 is awesome too, but I feel the sv650 has more character the way it rides. Too look at the sv650 looks a little boring but when I rode it my mind was changed, its a deceiving bike, but awesome.
As an longtime (old) rider, I love the top choice of the SV650. I have ridden naked bikes almost always. The lighter (under900cc/400lbs) would always be my choice. Wear your gear & keep it under a 100. Currently riding a 1200GS. this one isn't naked but has close to the same HP/weight as a KTM super duke
I agree with your assessment thanks for putting this video together.
2014 street triple. Sweet bike. Awesome sound (with aftermarket slip on) no regrets.
"and rider aids amounted to the manual telling you not to yeet yourself off a cliff!" - Beauty, Sir Yam!
I have a Suzuki sv650 2017 and i put a exhaust pipe competition werques and the sound is brutal, good video bro
Nailed it for Number one. I bought my first bike in 1999 and I drooled over the SV650. Ended up buying a used Honda VTR Firestorm which was one heck of a bike. But I think I may finally have to get that SV or maybe the CB650R decisions decisions.
Totally surprised to see the #1 but very glad!! I've had two both S models 2nd generation. One of each size! Looking at another one this time 2019/2020X model cafe style! I absolutely enjoyed the video and it's finale!
Thanks for sharing your opinion. It's a fun watch.
We all know triumphs are the best
~Yammie Noob
I own a 1st gen SV650 with full exhaust and can confirm it sounds beautiful. It is like if a sport bike and a Harley had a baby and sold it for $2k lol.
Bought Suzuki GSR 600(baby B-king) last week and I'm already in love
I was super thrilled to see the BMW K1300R on that list. I used to love that bike. :-)
Were you trying to stop my heart with that MT-09 SOUNDCHECK?
You are so right about the Super Duke & FZ1. Not so about the small Suzuki but hey ho, we cant all agree. Good vid.
Love my 06' SV650! My first street bike.
Hey Yammie ever thought of doing twitch
My dad has owned like 6 SV650s over the years. He currently has two, one he has liveried up in Suzuki Ecstar GP colours and the other is a yellow gold streetfighter he spent half a year building. Both gorgeous and smooth riding
Im an owner of an sv 650s 2001 (the carbed one)i am doing pretty good on my career, got some money for another motorcycle and i start looking what to pick for.EVERY TIME i do a research around 3-4 hours before i go to sleep, and i go to the bed with the thought that i got the best bike for all my needs!
I love my 2003 Sv 650 .
Sounds amazing and pretty quick
After this vid, I wanted to click the subscribe button so bad. But I'm already subbed!!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
And you had my bike and my favourite demo'ed bike in the top three!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will you marry me dude! I'll shave my beard off! Well, some of it at least. 🤪
I owned a Triumph Trident of 1992 vintage for a while, so that gives me rights to claim Speed triple ownership as my bike led to the progression. Yeah so there! Loved it and want another when I retire.
And the SV 650, is a bike I had on demo for a day and loved, just before I bought my used Trident. Plus, I recommended the SV to a work buddy as a perfect bike to buy to gain his bike licence on. He did have a 125 a few years before, but never took the test. He bought the naked SV and loved it to bits for five years after passing his test, then graduated to the SV1000!
Since subscribing to Yammie all the way from South Africa... I’ve fallen in love with naked sports bikes especially Kawasaki Z650
i can feel that in this voice over you had your t-shirt tucked in
Guess my favorite 😎 However owning a Tuono V4r, I still miss the raw and raunchy oomph of the original 2003 V2 Fighter. Yammiedude you ought to get yourself a taste of Tuono if you get the chance. ✌👍
I also own a faired SV650s and yep it's fun, but pales in comparison.
Yess! for the K12R BMW.
Have one, Love it!
Did my Direct Access training and tests on an SV650, good bike
Great list! I guess the 03 SV1000 wasn't around long enough to make a dent, but I love mine.
Buell xb9sx or S1 lighting belong in here. They started the whole "streetfighter" thing.
Not a chance. They came way after the Monster and the Speed Triple.
Alright Yammie, i wanna run this by you for a potential new video or just feedback. I bought a '13 Duc Multistrada 1200s with 17000 miles and God do I love how it rides. What I don't love is that the maintenance has been rediculous and after the last 1600$ bill I'm thinking about switching to a naked bike. What are great every day bikes that will last a long time and not cost insane amounts to maintain while still having some serious power and fun. Looking for somewhat used bikes. I ride every day. I'm thinking a FZ or Speed tripple but I don't trust any decision since my last was a poor choice. I'm not rich haha
Every one of the bikes in the soundclip has an aftermarket exhaust, which every proper owner should do! 👍
Oh Yammie. Now you got me missing my CB750F
Yammie: let's set some rules, no bikes before 1990
Yammie: so first bike is from 1960
Everyone: are we a joke to you
Great Video.
Starting at like 8:35 when youre talking about the superduke youre showing footage of a nuda900r. You likely know this though im guessin
Thoughts on the Honda CB500F? Planning on getting it once the quarantine is over as my first bike even though I have been practicing on my brothers Yamaha r3.
Just picked up a 12’ ducati monster 696😻 i love it
It's a better bike than the Suzuki SV650!
The KTM super duke 990 was pretty cool too always wanted one when I Was younger.
Thanks for the sound check.
Nice list Yamster. Too early to include the new StreetFighter but it does seem to be the ultimate in nakedness. Was thinking “where is the s1000r” but you do have what is sort of the predecessor BMW super naked on the list, so fair enough.
That sweet sweet Beethoven music playing in the background!
Dope vid
I had a 2001 SV 650s used with 17k km for 1800 € in 2008. Was a great bike 👍
I do not know if You got this list right, but it is very entertaining and thought provoking . My personal favorite is the Honda 919 Hornet.
You got this list rake for sure
Yes bro you know your stuff man and you do your back ground checks verry good..You knows bikes and as a old school rider and bike lover..keep doing what you love doing best..respect and you have my blessing after god..he is your and our 1# & 100%👌👊👍
Had a 2008 B King and it was absolutely ridiculous. I miss that bike everyday.
I had a Honda 919 hornet it was a torque monster I also had a 03 Kawasaki z1000 fast bike had a 08 Yamaha fz6 and a 06 vrod vrscr the original street rod its basically a vrod for track you sat straight up the pegs were set back instead of forward controls it was fun hitting curves I love naked sport bikes
Honorary mention: Buell XB9, XB12 & 1125C/CR
Oh yes you got that #1 right! Owned 1st Gen 1999, 2nd Gen 2007, and currently 3rd Gen 2017. Most fun bike to own and mod, like a blank canvas, just waiting for ones imagination.
