This show is confusing to watch.
I haven't seen Chinese drama in a long time, since Fair Princess.
But, this Ruyi drama is more confusing to us, which didn't from start, than Yanxi Palace.
Why?
Because I can't differentiate the maid vs the royals, the eunuchs vs the guards vs the emperor.
The clothes is similar, just slightly different. Both are at the same qualities.
If you see Qin Lan dreesses as an Empress, you'll convinced she's an Empress, she got the beauty, the dress also fabulous, the hair ornament is a masterpiece and a compliment the her grandeur.

So I use Yanxi Palace, since they were also Chinese (mainland).
And, somehow I got the same vibes from GOT on Yanxi, the easiness to Recognize the characters, just from their outfit/costume.
Yes, The extras mistresses, I still can't remember who's Jia, or Chun, or else 😁 but I can tell they are not a maid. The contrast of their outfit is clear. Rich vs homeless.
