End-of-life care for people with advanced illnesses can present some big challenges.
In Scotland, around 21,000 adults and children rely on hospices, which are designed to give patients physical, emotional and practical support leading up to their final days.
Scotland Tonight's Selena Jackson visited Accord hospice in Paisley, where staff look after around 100 in-patients every year.
