- On this episode, we find a Ramp Truck on Marketplace and we go check it out. Turns out, it's exactly what we been searching for. It's a 1983 squarebody with a 19' bed on it. It has no engine or transmission but none of that matters. I have a 24 valve cummins to go in this chassis and a C50 cab to replace the 83 cab. We're not sure what brand the bed is so if you have any info on who made it, please comment below. Thanks for watching.

As a father that loves his kids it's so awesome to watch you include your son thank you for the sweet video
That’s a sweet ramp truck! I know it’s a lot of work but imagine how cool it would be to stretch the cab 10” instead of shortening the frame. Think of how roomy the inside of the cab would be.
This kid has the biggest personality and witty.
Dave, That ramp truck is cool and you are teaching Lucas in the process! I will meet you at some point and give you a huge hug for passing on knowledge. You and Wesley are awesome!
You need to be really proud of your son Dave. He's a wonderful engaged young man who loves being around his father and loves to contribute. Great job of finding the truck and parts. Looking forward to seeing how it will come out.
Good to see your family in these videos. Your boy will turn out like his father! Love old cars and trucks.
That's one cool special built ramp truck body. I have never seen one with a hydraulic wheel lift before. Can't wait to see the build series.
First time seeing a ramp truck with a wheel lift. Nice truck man.
Your right. That roll back was a heck of a good deal. If I wasn't in New England I would be all over that. Looking forward to how your ramp truck is going to turn out...🤓
Your kid is smart ! Wish you all the best !
Hahahaha love when he looks at the c10 and says 20 thousand nope we’re all set priceless
Welcome to the joys of owning a ramp truck, best regards from over the pond.
You could add a sleeper /tool box behind the cab !
Hotrod heaven has added to his collection. He only had two or three a couple years ago.
Congratulations on your new ramp truck!!! Enjoy!!! The old cab will look amazing!!
I love the video perspective from Lucas. So cool!!! Glad you incorporate that in your video!
What a score! Hard to find a unit like that any more.Great video!
Dave when and if you chop the frame look real hard for a section of International dump truck frame and after you reweld the ramp truck frame put the international frame over the top where you spiced it. It will hold up better than reinforcing the frame on the inside
You and the little man are making a good team
That's a nice truck bud
And that bed is badass
Just my .02 on the frame length, I'd leave the frame length and build a cross box built into the front of the bed and build a headache rack from that. Or put the fuel tank between a cargo box to hang chain or straps instead of them being piled in a box. you could then turn that open space where the saddle tanks are into more storage on the front sides of the bed. It is more work, but worth it in my unprofessional, none owner of that truck. It is a great set up and I look forward to watching the build... One day I will buy me one to haul my junk around..
Nice score Dave!
Cool truck,I know its alot of work but stretch the C50 cab that would be badass
the kids awesome, and i feel those front wheel covers should stay.
I remember when Finnegan picked up Square Force One locally in SE Indiana..Glad you found you one.
I’d put the c50 cab and build a headache rack with tool boxes and a tow truck light bar with red and white could put your straps and chains in the headache rack and keep your other storage for other stuff
His reaction to that price tag is perfect. "20 grand?! No thank you, we don't need it" lol
Very nice ramp truck, stoked to see it!
Just me, however I would graft the c60 front half to the ramp truck back half. Best of both worlds!
The shipping would cost a fortune, but there is a C 50 box truck complete sitting in my local wrecking yard all the way in Alaska.
Enjoyed seeing you at the swap meet. Hope the spinners work for you. Send it!
Keep an eye out for a motorhome. I'm putting a 55 COE on a 91 motorhome chassis, 30k miles, 10.5K 10 lug rear axle, 14.5k chassis, 4 wheel disc brakes. Only paid $400 for it. Hard part is stripping it lol.
I never seen a ramp truck with a stinger on the back . Very cool
That’s a really nice bed, I would get a Kodiak chassis and put your cab and that bed with your diesel in that, that chassis is way too weak to haul, brakes and tires are too small, suspension isn’t up to it, I’ve built a ramp truck on a f600 chassis because of all these reasons. The roll off truck the end of the video would be the perfect chassis to swap the cab onto and put your motor in
Why not keep the 10" and put a tire rack, slide out tool rack or slide out lift in between? Great content Dave! Your boy's gonna turn out alright.
I'm glad you got a Ramp truck you and Wes but think about a nice car covered in diesel smoke from the stacks
10”sounds like plenty of room to run stacks
Very nice! Gonna be an awesome build. Enjoyed the video, bro! Love your channel!
That's going to be cool when you're done.
A diesel and a C50 cab is going to be killer on that thing
Love the ramp truck. I vote you leave the cab alone , juts install the diesel and go.
I see you still have the Scamborgini!!!
Just an idea, how about extending the cab on the C50? Gives you a little more room in the cab.
Man, that ramp truck looks really solid. I don't know that I would spend all that time and effort to change wheelbase and all for the C-60. It does look too much like the OG Roadkill for your channel, but somebody is gonna want that cab....
@@tonymorse7178 we’re putting it on a 4wd chassis
Don’t chop it make storage unit and a tire rack to haul equipment and luggage
Ummmm my guy, might I suggest just building a toolbox to fill the gap instead of chopping the frame up? It can slide out the side, be a nice tall pegboard and you can hang straps up in it.
Food for thought
That’s going to be real cool
That's a Kool ramp truck
Move the cab forward and put a tunnel box between the cab snd bed then run your headache bar above that
Have you thought about extending the cab for more room inside, To me that would look very cool
Man Dave is living the life I wish I had a shop to work on cars I wish I had an old car to work on
Yep the life I would trade anything for and he’s probably got complaints
@@Robrt32 I promise I don’t have complaints
@ well good deal.
@12VoltDave your a good man Dave Dont let anyone tell you different it just so happen you where in the right place at the right time and Finnegan gave you a chance now your leading a life most would steal and cheat for I'm glad we got you instead of anyone eles I thank Mike every time I see you on RUclips thank you
Put a nurse tank between the cab and bed
Love the content
Or if you’re feeling saucy, there’s a company that makes panels and doors to make the C60 in to a crew cab. Just saying
i like that style of bed also , be better if it was a dodge cab and running gear
I'd add a 10" cross chassis toolbox with stacks
Center the wheels in the opening and fill in the blank you need a place to put batteries big work lights the list goes on
Instead of cutting the frame, maybe extend the C-50 cab back 10 inches...think leg room....
Too cool 👍👍
the best part of this is the kid oh no we're good
All these build a sleeper comments are hilarious. There is nothing to gain by extending the cab 10". Not for for the work involved at least. Anyway, build it to suit your own needs and disregard all these silly suggestions. cheers.
school bus shorten the body put bed on the frame then put air bags so you can lower it to load and unload . the bus part convert to rv !
not sure on bed but definitely not a hodges!!
You could leave it like it is and have a 10" wide auxiliary fuel tank built for it.
I'd mount it and just cut the headache rack and front lip of the bed off and extend the bed forward 10 inches
Stretch the C50 cab 10 inches on the back to fit the frame
Should name it "roadkill too"
Perfect empty engine compartment for a 12 valve!
"Wesley, no." lololoo
Tool box in front of bed always need more room in a single cab
Cut the back of the cab and extend it ten inches. Or have a toolbox built for the space
nice!
don't cut the frame build a box for storage between cab and body .
Kids & cars💪
Yes ramp truck
Put a sleeper behind the cab
Hi don’t cut the frame stretch the cab. Make it a king cab
Come on guys, use the original body and make IT cool!
You should make it a maga cab
🤘🤠🤘
$20k……nope were good😂😂😂😂
How much do you want for the cab?
if you are changing the cab, I am sure Vice Grip Garage will take the square body off your hands
@@derekrogers6240 we’re putting the cab on a 4wd chassis
Never seen a Hodge bed that was diamond plate atleast the ones i had built that was never a option
@@ironsides64 was told it was one of theirs but it’s not. Hopefully someone can let me know who built it.
@@12VoltDave The back of it reminds me of a Harron or Herron bed that was made in Texas might check them out, regardless nice find good luck
Center it on the wheel well and extend the cab making it a king cab. More room inside is what I’d do. No more cutting the frame. Oh and Cummins swap it!
Why would you spend so much time chopping the frame rather than just building a 10" +/- cabinet between the cab and bed and use that for tow stuff storage, fuel cans, etc.?
why not add 10 inches to the cab
Extend the cab
I subscribed just to help you and your family for now, but if your content isn't any good I'll quit watching
Trump!!!!@
NICE! IT COULD HAVE 3 FEET MORE OVERHANG PAST THE REAR AXLE! IT'S A PRIME CANDIDATE FOR TANDEM REAR AXLES!.....
