It’s true that the Russians are making mistakes, like bunching their units so close to each other, making them wait outside the city for 2 weeks, this makes them targets. However, don’t be disillusioned. This war is already over. It finished in the first week. Russia has won. What russia is doing now is trying to save lives and civilian infrastructure. Ultimately the Ukrainians will capitulate, and if they don’t then they will be neutralised. If you pay close attention you will see western MSM focussing on Kyiv, but the fight is not there, it’s in the east. They won’t show you much of the east because they don’t want you to see the reality.

Not quite right. Brovary is important near to Kiyv town. Armored batallion is enough to take it. But they got into artillery ambush and had to flee with minimal losses.
Hell no they don't. The Russian morale on the front lines is absolutely MISERABLE and that's putting it very very lightly. The food is expired, logistics is shit and they have no reason to go fight, no motivation. They wanna be home with their families

Best analysis I've heard was that he/russian intel expected the Ukrainian governement to flee due to the opening invasion moves and then without this leadership the Ukrainian miltiary & people's resistence would shrink and shrink until he could parade new 'russian' leaders in > a foreign-led military coup with an 'acceptable' amount of ground battles. That Zelensky and the government stayed and 'dug-in' there-by reinvigorating Ukrainians to fight is what scuttled the initial russian plans and now it's degenerating into a slug-fest....which is a failure for putin considering russian manufacturing under the sanctions will not be able to match the western MIC for shipping in weapons.

I think Mike Tyson's quote was just an adaptation of a quote made centuries before by a Prussian General, 'no plan survives the first contact with the enemy'.
The 40 mile convoy was a deliberate attempt to scare the Ukrainians into submission but since it didn't work and they took heavy losses, they decided to go back to conventional methods and move in cover. Give them hell brave Ukrainians! 👏
No, i think the rain and warm weather turned everything into mud so they had to take the roads to press forward. it got cold again today, so they will disperse. too bad the Ukes didnt have the artillery and mortars to hit the convoy hard
zyblack is 100% correct ...there is simply no way that the Russians got so stupid they forgot that you NEVER bunch up your tanks and support vehicles into an easily taken out 40 mile long convoy ...so this was all about imaging , messaging and propaganda designed to do a number of things.... one scare the Ukrainians by showing them the might and arms placed against them .... and two try to tempt and see If NATO or some country would do a drone strike on them which would help Putin's Propaganda Strategy to continue to say this is all about the West and the U.S.

If I were a Russian soldier, very young and just finished school and basic military training, I would be anything but motivated to fight in this war. America doesn’t follow that lmao. Everywhere they have been they’ve lost or retreated. Trillions spent, 75% of the people living on borrowed cheap money and on the edge whilst they spend trillions on defense whilst basic healthcare is not even available to millions. What a waste of time, resources and misguided leaders.
Probably because they knew they had no opposition from the air. So they could stay on the road. Now they are dispersing and surrounding … or breaking up if you prefer.
As others said, the poor frontline soldiers were told it was going to be a cake walk, the population would cheer them and to be sure to pack your dress uniform for the victory parade in Kiev. There are likely some thugs mixed in, as with any army, but for the decent people in the Russian army who just wanted a job or to defend their country, the knowledge that they are “the bad guys” must be awful, having to either not fight (and be called a traitor and lose everything), fight (and be the bad guy) or get killed/captured - all bad options.
I'd be really surprised if they didn't know all this at a theoretical level. It seems pretty basic stuff. So I can only guess at why they are displaying such poor tactics, but it it might be any combination of lack of training, lack of situational awareness, and a lack of fuel. And perhaps most importantly, a lack of sufficient numbers of infantry.
What happened is that the weather turned very cold due to a cold snap, and the ground froze. Prior to this, because it's the rasputitsa, if they were off road, the vehicles will sink. The problem is that it's just that - a cold snap - it's temporary. This means that unless it stays cold, their vehicles are all going to get stuck in the mud.
Ironic how russians have been saying all this time how rasputitsa and low temperatures are their allies, how it is notably difficult to capture them because of it, and because of General Moroz and whatnot, only to fall victim to these very things when they invade neighbouring country.
I read that a bad cold snap is coming to eastern Europe next week, temps down to minus 20. That is a different problem than the mud for the Russians. Don't think they're equipped for that, since they thought this would be over with quickly.
They screwed up when they put that 40 mile convoy on that road. They also screwed up by dispersing it into the fields, because they're gonna get the vehicles stuck in mud. Ukraine opened a reservoir and flooded both sides of the road. The Ukrainian fighters are probably the most fiercest fighters in the world.
Let's be objective here. Rasputitsa is nothing new to the Russian army since 1941. Their tanks are designed to work in these conditions, unlike the heavy tanks made by the Western armed forces. Much of the fighting is done using military drones for intelligence gathering and precise strikes on fortified positions. There are no accidental hits. A lot of the technologies used today were tested in Syria fighting terrorists. Look it up. Most of the Ukrainian armed forces are either in a huge vice or surrounded, it looks really bad.

This is complicated, and some of the disputed areas have been disputed since before Christopher Columbus ever set sail.
Maybe you should dig a little deeper. The whole situation is a bit more complicated than that. In fact if it weren't for the Western powers getting involved in Ukrainian business, this would never have happened. And the Ukrainian government isn't totally without blame either. This is not a black vs white thing. Putin is not a madman, he just isn't. The Western powers were playing dirty games and overplayed their hand. And now Putin has called their bluff. This whole situation has been avoidable. It's really sad it ended up this way.

Remember what happened in Cuba when it happened last time. With the exception that the Soviet Union agreed to remove the missiles, and when Putin asked to move NATO away from Russia's borders, on the contrary, massive arms supplies began.
It’s clearly because Russian troops went in being told to “March” not knowing what they were doing and Russia thought that their large presence and early Nuclear hint would intimidate Ukraine and the World allowing them to literally walk in and take over City’s. @@vilena5308 The Washington Post: U.S. to Aid Ukraine in Countering Bioweapons By Jo WarrickAugust 30, 2005 The United States and Ukraine agreed yesterday to work jointly to prevent the spread of biological weapons, signing a pact that clears the way for Ukraine's government to receive U.S. aid to improve security at facilities where dangerous microbes are kept. The agreement, the result of more than a year of negotiations, was announced by Sens. Richard G. Lugar (R-Ind.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) during a visit to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. The senators credited Ukraine's reformist leaders, ushered into power by last fall's Orange Revolution, with breaking bureaucratic resistance to the pact. One lab to receive funding is the I.I. Mechnikov Antiplague Scientific and Research Institute, in the Black Sea port city of Odessa. The institute was part of a Cold War network of "antiplague" stations that supplied highly lethal pathogens to Soviet bioweapons factories. "This agreement will allow us to begin addressing the problems faced by the Odessa antiplague institute and places like it," said Mark Helmke, a staff member for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which Lugar chairs. Under the pact, the United States will fund security upgrades at key Ukrainian biological institutes and support peaceful research by Ukrainian scientists to fight the spread of natural diseases, Helmke said. The amount of funding has not been determined. The senators' visit to Russia and Ukraine was disrupted Sunday when local authorities refused to allow the delegation's military plane to leave Perm, a city in Russia's Ural Mountains. The officials demanded that they be allowed to search the plane, then relented after several hours and allowed the aircraft to proceed to Ukraine, a spokesman for Lugar said. Yesterday, Russia's Foreign Ministry formally apologized for the incident. Viktor Yushchenko, left, the president of Ukraine, greets Sens. Richard G. You know, it really feels like the Russo-Ukrainian war might just be the most incompetent large-scale military campaign of the twenty-first century so far. While Russia's overwhelming numbers and firepower have won them a handful of victories, taking border regions and inflicting casualties, they've flat-out failed at basically every single one of their operational objectives and suffered humiliating casualties, delays, and defeats on the battlefield, in the newsrooms and in the stock exchanges. The sheer quantity of indirect fire weapons they have may be able to burn Ukraine's cities, and the fighting will still exert terrible costs on all those involved, but at this stage I almost expect the Russian invasion to just collapse-they've suffered horrendous losses and have long-noted failures in their logistics that have reared their heads so aggressively that the Russian army-the terror of NATO, the prime threat to European democracy-ran out of gas sixty miles from a friendly border less than a week after fighting started. My lord, my prayers go out to all those poor, ineptly led, confused Russian conscripts in the field that they can get back home-and to the Ukrainians to inform Russia's leaders of their mistakes with as few deaths and as much success as they possibly can
There's a worrying issue if and when Putin faces complete failure at this level.....his ego, plus nuclear firepower. I just deeply hope that their nuclear operations are as poor as everything else....since the only thing they can do is fire big rockets from a distance, they're probably quite capable to nuke effectively
To me it looks like Russia is getting it's ass kicked. Did you hear Japan has claimed 5 Russian islands belong to Japan? Russia may have to pull troops from Ukraine. Russia does have an eastern front. And they aren't defending it. Seems Russian strategy is backward at best.
Historically Russia n Japan have disputed several islands between them. This Ukrainian Invasion may present Japan with the Winning poker hand now. On these disputed islands.
Japan has been routinely claiming those islands, it just got hyped more this round of claims because of everything going on. I think they are waiting for Russia to collapse so they can make a deal with the new regime, not necessarily take them by force.
I am as anti-russian as one can get, but does Japan really think that 2 nukes are not enough for one country? They don't have to fight, they have to wait a little and the islands will be theirs anyway, Russia will have to give away everything in order to have the sanctions lifted after they deal with Putin internally

I'm from the US, and arrived in Ukraine, Kiev on the 23rd. I chose to go to UKR because I wanted to save my friends. We faced a lot of problems along the way, we saw some bombs going off in Kiev city (we were far away) and nearby, people desperately trying to get out of the country, intense firefights, civilian and military vehicles destroyed, military aircraft destroyed and on fire, some places abandoned and/or destroyed. We also saw some dead people, we helped some people who were injured, we took some with us. I was able to do these things because I had some contacts in the region and they helped me there. We cut several paths and arrived in Hungary on the 28th, and at the moment we are in Germany (my friends and I). The four people who came with us chose another path. We're better. While we were traveling, we recorded some bizarre stuff that deserves to be shared with the world, I'll probably post it on YT. .

I like to listen to military professionals. I have great respect for their analyses, when the media ask them. Regards from SPAIN and thanks to the CNN too, to all the journalists in general.
Things I currently think about Russia invading Ukraine. 1. Russia severely underestimated Ukraines willingness to fight. 2. Russia severely overestimated their vehicle maintenance and supply/support. 3. Russia severely underestimated the Wests response, but also globally to their invasion. 4. Russia didn't expect Western shoulder fired AT missiles and AA missiles to be such a major factor in their losses. 5. Russia didn't expect their conscripts to be so disheartened with attacking people they consider family. The Russian soldiers simply don't understand or see reason in this war. Or why they should attack and kill Ukrainians. 6. Russia's military went from 10ft tall giants to basically better equipped North Koreans. Their military has shown the world they are divided and corruption has crippled their efforts in a real war. 7. Russia's military hardware is vastly made up of Cold War tanks and tracks that have proven over the decades to be excellent at two things. Breaking down and blowing their turrets to kingdom come when they get hit. They store their ammo INSIDE the turret without blowout vaults like Western tanks. So basically anytime you see a Russian tank shooting flames from the hatches like a Roman candle. You already know the entire crew is being vaporized instantly. Which is horrible, but also a mercy they don't feel anything before they go. 8. Russia has now made themselves vulnerable to Chinese investments and encroachment. Because now if China wanted to they could invade Russia and NO ONE would stop them. Because no one wants to mess with nuclear armed lunatics openly. Which is why Ukraine is a "Proxy" war right now. But China can also just use this to degrade Russia financially as well and make them dependent on them because of sanctions. This whole war and all the sanctions is basically going to marry Russia and China going forward into the future. 9. Because of Ukraine and how things are going. The question remains of whether China still thinks they can take Taiwan or not. And whether their military is good enough. Especially after how badly Russia's is doing. And Taiwan falling puts Japan in direct conflict with China due to territorial waters overlapping if China takes Taiwan. And the US definitely doesn't want Japan or us to be put in that situation. So Taiwan has a high chance of getting direct military support. 10. CNN is still a parasite network that literally was drooling for Russia to invade Ukraine because their ratings were and still are in the toilet. But those war ratings right?
China doesn't want to attack Russia, lol. They are quietly supporting them behind the scenes. China is one of Russia's only friends. China + Russia have been married for a long time. Anyone who knows anything about international politics knows that, which makes your comment quite suspect. And CNN has nothing to do with Putin attacking Ukraine. Nice try at deflection, but no. Fox news has basically given their on-air "news" people a pair of pom-poms and a script in support of Putin. Disgusting. If any news outlet wants Russia to win, it's Fox. They support Putin because he's a right wing loon. They root against a sovereign country and for an evil dictator. Trump is the de facto leader of the GOP and his leader is Vladimir Putin. And so here we are, Fox news anchors chanting "P-U-T-I-N!! If he can't do it no one can GO PUTIN!" And we all know why. TrumPutin are both evil and republicans made a deal with the devil.
do you think you will scare the Russians with this? You only make them angrier, you're watching the history of Russia! 33 million Russians were killed in the Second World War, and do you think that stopped them? You are naive.
What you state is true and if Russia alines itself with China instead of being a big dog it will be a pup as the west has learnt never put your eggs in the one basket.
Love the way American strategists and retired generals get on globally accessible media and tell the Russians where they are going wrong and how to fix it... Whose side are they on anyways?
If Putin was open to criticism and advice, he wouldn't have been in this situation in the first place and if he had competent generals, they'd know all this in advance too.
Thats all basic stuff that you implement during training everyone knows it. If they have never trained for it they are not going to start learning it now in a war zone being in survival mode.
The illusion that the Russian army was something special by using Syria as an example...without throwing shade on the Syrian rebels fighting as hard as they could, they were never on the level of a competent European army If the 3 weeks of fighting in Ukraine has showed anything, the Russian army just doesn't have the ability to go up against another army that knows how to fight, has the capabilities in way of an air force and a modern standard of combat and walk away with the same grandiose as they did going up against in Syria what were really just random militias May explain why Putin is so quick waving his nukes around, as it looks like he hasn't much else that stand a chance
"Competent European army" is such an overstatement. Nowadays no European army, perhaps excepting France and UK, are in a state of facing a total war such a Ukraine. We can but dream about facing a war and being capable of stopping the enemy, but as the old saying says, "plans are clear until first enemy contact".
@@oscaralbertomendozachavez5611 Well compared to a ragtag band of militia groups, the Ukrainian army seems to be a completely different league than anyone the Russian army has being going up against for years. @@eddoura That's pretty much what I'm saying...if they had the supplies and equipment of a even a small modern European army, the Syrians would have demolished the Russians when they rolled in
You forget though that Putin didn’t plan on waging a real war, mostly targeting military infrastructure, not even Ukrainian forces. He wanted to have as few casualties as possible hoping that it breaks it’s shocking enough to break resistance. Apparently, it didn’t work out. I guess, a full scale warfare would have been way more successful but also much mire more tragic for the people
Clearly the interviewer has not read his history when it comes to Molotov cocktails. The Czechs used them very effectively against the Russian tanks in the 67 uprising by blinding the drivers view first which forced the hatch open then dropped a couple inside. This tactic worked especially well in built up areas where they could get above the tanks.
These are modern tanks though. They *should* be able to resist that. But as the general pointed out, in a kleptocracy maybe they never got the upgrades they were supposed to (its looking like that a lot)
Look up what happened to the people who decided to meet tanks in Kherson with Molotov cocktails. Poor souls, tens of them lying dead next their bottles.
@@Sergei__v Nothing is ever guarantied in war other than plans will go wrong. Molotov cocktails only come into their own in a built up environment and so far the Russians have proved to be totally incompetent and making basic mistakes. The only thing that is keeping them going is shear weight of numbers but they cant sustain the kind of losses that they have had so far and hope to maintain a cohesive fighting force.
@@McBlammy I agree they should have got the upgrades but given the level of corruption in the Russian government anything is possible. The one thing that I learned through my time in the military was that the more technical a weapon is the easer it is to break
Patraeus said "Starve it until it submits," when referring to the enemy army. This is classic military leadership. Do not view the enemy as a collection of people. View the enemy as an "it" that is to be destroyed. War is a cold-hearted endeavor. Being distracted by the human component of the enemy never helps and always hurts. The time for concern over humanity comes when the fighting is over
Accept the concern for humanity does not come after the war . For the most part afterwards humans disregard humanity and seek to " punish" the people you have just conqured It's very naivie to think humanity comes into it just because the war is over.
@@hannahdyson7129 You speak in absolutes. But there are many exceptions to what you just said. The U.S. showed tremendous humanity towards the Germans and Japanese after the fighting ended in WWII. Each nation was able to rebuild and achieve a high standard of living for its citizens within a few years of the war ending due to the help we gave them. The U.S. showed this same humanity toward its ally, South Korea, following the Korean War. The humanity shown by the U.S. to the residents of Kabul was evident even while the fighting was still going on in the mountains of Afghanistan. Schools were built in which Afghani girls were encouraged to attend, for example. Even after the Cold War, NATO allies welcomed former Warsaw Pact nations and former Soviet Republics into the alliance without any reprisals being levied. East and West Germany reunited peacefully, The list goes on.
@@davidsuro986 I think they learned the lesson from how forcing Germany to pay such high war reoperations after WW1, that it caused the rise of a Hitler.
There are lots of smart and courageous people who can provide an assessment -- do we really need to give airtime to a person who gave classified information to his mistress to write a flattering book about him? There are so many better men in the military.
Don't tell them they're doing it wrong. Praise their masterful strategy (with a hidden smirk). After they are Dead in ambush, that's the only time you tell them they're doing it wrong.
Petraeus should be saying, "It's hard, but the Russians are doing a good job with the tactics they are using. I'd be doing actually what they're doing with those convoys".....The 'Eyes' are watching these type of videos.
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." If this invasion has done anything, it has really put Russia's perspective and fears of NATO expansion into the light. How could they not be fearful given their gross incompetence in this invasion?
No one would believe him. The fact that it took almost 2 weeks for the convoys to do such a basic thing as taking cover when stopped would be unbelievable except it happened. The old give bad advise to the enemy only really works if it is not blindingly obvious bad advice trying here would be on the level that "all Russians should check for jams by looking down the barrel of their rifle and pulling the trigger."
@@seantrevathan3041 if they were so scared of the west, then they'd stop poking the bear. They could probably get more territory out of the deal if they made a deal now, but putin isn't interested in compromise. I think he's finally snapped.
I think the logistical and tactical issue are reflective of deeper problems with the structure of the Russian army and with its generals. It is unlikely that the Russian army is going to suddenly sort itself out while waging a war at the same time.
Remember learning happens very quickly after first contact in any fight. Then it's all about who can adapt and improvise the best. Plus who has the endurance to out last the other. But it's nice to hear an experienced general point out the rookie mistakes: using the roads, bunching up, stopping in the open & not taking cover, and not working with their infantry. That's tactics 101 stuff. The only thing that may explain this is, they must have thought they would meet no resistance. That if they just showed up with overwhelming numbers the Ukrainian leadership would just leave the country for exile somewhere in Europe. Now that's a strategic miscalculation.
The Russian soldiers were not told they were going to war. Many thought this was just a peaceful military exercise and they did not know where they were going. This has based on one of the comments they captured Russian soldier made to the press.
Their guy, Viktor Yanukovych, flew away from protesters in 2014. The Russians probably thought he was brave for a Ukrainian and expected Zelensky's government to flee as tanks crossed the border. If they expected that, leaders wouldn't have to tell the soldiers this wasn't a training exercise. It could succeed without many Russians understanding the plan.
There will be little learning on the Russian side, b/c (for reasons of both career and personal safety) their generals cannot even admit there are big problems -- and therefore can't appeal up the chain of command for additional time or resources to remedy the deficiencies. They will be pressed from above to go on with the men, equipment, objectives and procedures they already have. The Soviet/Russian military is a top-down, zero-fault-tolerant organization that suffers fully from the rigidity, calcification, and irresponsibility (all responsibility lies ultimately with Putin himself) of the government as a whole. The General Staff will simply point to the country's military doctrine -- which is sacrosanct -- and blame field grade and junior officers for not executing it correctly. We cannot mirror-image the Russians and assume they would learn and adapt quickly, as the US would.
Why are you even discussing the m8stake of the aggressor... exposing their tactics' error will just make them correct it and make it harder for Ukraine. Media is not helping with this type of reporting.
Russia has a totally different idea on how to wage war. These forces moving into the city are just probes. And Russia always sends in their worst forces first. Then they try to surround the enemy and pulverize them with artillery. They'll strangle them slowly. They can send in better forces as shock troops if needed once the enemy is already weakened. This way they will lose more low quality forces and equipment. But almost non of their higher quality forces. Their losses are easy to replace. And their lower quality forces that survive will build up experience. In chess the pons move first. They either die or potentially get promoted to a queen. This is only a fraction of the Russian army. They keep all their best forces in reserve so they can respond should NATO get involved.
One of the best analysis I've heard on media. Never underestimate your enemies, but Russians weren't prepared and they take their time. When US army went to Iraq, they were under restrict sanctions for years.
Rookie mistakes by the Russians, but equally I would ask, why wasn't that exposed convoy utterly wiped out by Ukrainian air or ground forces when they had this golden opportunity? Cannot keep relying on Russian mistakes.
not sure about ground forces, maybe occupied elsewhere or waiting for more intelligence first, hard to say. For air forces, Ukraine is mostly struggling to maintain an air force, they haven't lost it, but I imagine it had been difficult to go after them with Russia pushing to get air superiority. Just speculation on my part.
You don't have to be a general to know you don't line up 100s of trucks head to tail in the open road for any length of time. So why have they done it? Easy. To show the Russian might/strength by showing off the huge volume of their numbers, ie, to scare the enemy that they are severely out numbered. And that leads me to why the Russian army personnel on the front line seem so unprofessional. Because you don't put you best soldiers in trucks that are sitting ducks on the road out in the open.
@@tayler2396 I didn't say the scare tactic worked. Clearly, it did not. You only tell unprofessionals that they are going to do training exercises when in reality they are actually going to war. Paid professionals follow orders, even if it means shooting a neighbour.
No matter which country they come from, soldiers are soldiers and they admire each other's bravery and accomplishments. We have heard American military people lauding the assasinated Major General Vitaly Gerasimov as one of the world's best generals and Putin's top strategic military specialist. Therefore, it must be very hard and even embarassing for General Petreus (ret.) to watch some of the most clumbsiest military moves ever recorded or ever heard of from any battle in the history of our civlization. We have heard how Alexander the Great took great risks and used strategies that no sane commander would attempt, but he won battles against the Persians and others because of expert military skills. What I am saying here is that as a former military commander, General Petreus (ret.) must be astounded at the illogical attacks and poor generalship of Russia's military personel. Putin has made one of the worst military blunders in history and the unbelievable loss of so many Russians not even three weeks into battle must be devastating for the morale of his troops. Russia is showing itself as a depleted fighting force. Seeing Soviet tanks blow up is of course good news to the Ukranian fighters, but each tank has 3 young Russian soldiers who don't deserve to be incinerated by rockets that can blow up tanks so efficiently. Lastly, may I ask General Patreus (ret.) if this makes sense? We know NATO and the US cannot send fighter jets over the border into Kiev, but could spare parts be made available and sent into the Ukrraine to make-shift, moveable factories with specialized crews who put together the jet fighters on the fly? This might get past NATO's regulations and whatever Putin might consider reason to attack NATO countries with weapons of mass destruction, and it would slowly give the Ukrainians a fighting edge and it would be legit. We've got to try everything. I'm an inventor; I try ever idea that comes to mind. My mentor is Sir James Dyson. He tried 5,237 times to get his vaccuum cleaner to work. It took him 5, 238 tries to get it right. We have to keep trying...
I dont think thats the case in Ukraine, they cant admire bravery or accomplishments when civilians are being deliberately targeted in a war of aggression.
Molotov cocktails vs tanks, who wins; isn't the right question if the armor *isn't going* into Kyiv. You can have all the cocktails you want, but good luck throwing them 10 miles away where the armor is just sitting in a perimeter, and good luck standing next to your supply of Molotovs when a rocket or air-to-ground bomb comes knocking. The real question is whether Kyiv can defend itself from a cruel long-term, sustained barrage with little or no help.
Well.... since their range is 2 miles during the day and less at night that wouldn't be a problem. The Russians would basically sit there out of range and be picked off once by one with javelins and other missiles.
I dont think we need to hear from retired military people about what Russia is doing wrong. It sound so wrong the way their fighting this war it would not surprise me at all if their not watching the same news to get pointers about what and how to proceed since we are saying their doing it all wrong.
"You can't sustain those kind of losses day by day and still have combat-effective forces," thought everyone who has set out to defeat the Russians. The Ukranians might be on track to join the Finns and the Mujahideen in the "Stuffed the Russian Army" club though.
WW2 was largely fought with lend lease equipment. You can't keep fielding new battalions after all your equipment is abandoned to the enemy and your economy (which was smaller than Canada's to start with) is shutting down.
Fortunately for the Ukrainians, the Russians are employing WW2 tactics in their advance towards them. There is hope for the Ukrainians to put up a stiff resistance with the massive arms shipments arriving daily from the West.
And blessings to the people of Syria and Palestine and Yemen too, even though right wing CNN never reports on the violence still being directed at them

No, he's the best so far on the planet. He learns from his mistakes unlike the murderers in D.C. You can put anyone in D.C., as we have now seen, because the US military tactics are the same wherever they go -- crush, kill, destroy. This report is completely false. They are misleading the American public in to believing Ukraine is winning which shows our government the military do not care about Ukraine. They just want Russia. For Putin, it's not about winning. It's about keeping the West's kleptocrat oligarchs away from his borders with their missiles and psyops (which is all Ukraine is).

The fact that they were not protecting themselves earlier, I think was due to the idea that they thought that they would meet no credible opposition.
I think it was because they thought they would have been greeted as liberators, not greeted with opposition.

@The TacoCat good for them, they finally got their revenge

Ironic how russians have been saying all this time how rasputitsa and low temperatures are their allies, how it is notably difficult to capture them because of it, and because of General Moroz and whatnot, only to fall victim to these very things when they invade neighbouring country.
I read that a bad cold snap is coming to eastern Europe next week, temps down to minus 20. That is a different problem than the mud for the Russians. Don't think they're equipped for that, since they thought this would be over with quickly.

There are still tens of thousands of Russian soldiers running around with machine guns and Zelenski hates NATO to hell after all they did for him.

My mind is blown! These guys are a Disgrace. I think they are the ones who need saving now.
Experience ages out of the system(Last really significant hard fighting they did was grozny). Good equipment with bad maintenance eventually becomes bad equipment(if you dont maintain tanks rigorously you will find they break a lot of important bells and whistles). Right now it looks like the Russians are having to expose higher up officers because the low ranks are full of green troops who cant or wont do things that need to be done for military to advance well.
This honestly isnt all that surprising. Militaries are always looking to keep up with their peers in regards to technology. That costs a lot. If you have to pay that then you might cut corners elsewhere. The Russians clearly have cut corners. Add in the morale issues they are experiencing and it isnt surprising that the Ukrainians are doing so well. As long as the Ukrainians can keep bleeding them at this tempo the Russians will lose before the Summer is over. There is no way they can sustain losses like this.

In fact if it weren't for the Western powers getting involved in Ukrainian business, this would never have happened. And the Ukrainian government isn't totally without blame either. @@vilena5308 The Washington Post: U.S. to Aid Ukraine in Countering Bioweapons
By Jo WarrickAugust 30, 2005
The United States and Ukraine agreed yesterday to work jointly to prevent the spread of biological weapons, signing a pact that clears the way for Ukraine's government to receive U.S. aid to improve security at facilities where dangerous microbes are kept.
Richard G. Lugar, center, and Barack Obama during their visit to the capital, Kiev.

MOTTI Tactics Look it up. It was a Finnish Tactic that the Finns used against the Russians in the Winter War.
They don't have to fight, they have to wait a little and the islands will be theirs anyway, Russia will have to give away everything in order to have the sanctions lifted after they deal with Putin internally

I think China will now think twice before envading Taiwan after they see what's going on with Russia.

Do you live under a rock?
If Putin was open to criticism and advice, he wouldn't have been in this situation in the first place and if he had competent generals, they'd know all this in advance too.
Thats all basic stuff that you implement during training everyone knows it. If they have never trained for it they are not going to start learning it now in a war zone being in survival mode.
I suspect they are leaving out key points. These are very intelligent men and women (kudos to the woman from Canada.)
The illusion that the Russian army was something special by using Syria as an example...without throwing shade on the Syrian rebels fighting as hard as they could, they were never on the level of a competent European army
If the 3 weeks of fighting in Ukraine has showed anything, the Russian army just doesn't have the ability to go up against another army that knows how to fight, has the capabilities in way of an air force and a modern standard of combat and walk away with the same grandiose as they did going up against in Syria what were really just random militias
May explain why Putin is so quick waving his nukes around, as it looks like he hasn't much else that stand a chance
The only time they seem to have a chance is when they have a puppet like Yanukovych was draining the army they'll be going up against, or they're going up against armed civilians

Ukraine can ask for peace when they are ready! And on their terms.

The time for concern over humanity comes when the fighting is over
Well said.
Accept the concern for humanity does not come after the war . For the most part afterwards humans disregard humanity and seek to " punish" the people you have just conqured
It's very naivie to think humanity comes into it just because the war is over.
East and West Germany reunited peacefully,
The list goes on.
@@davidsuro986 I think they learned the lesson from how forcing Germany to pay such high war reoperations after WW1, that it caused the rise of a Hitler.

This is the best General I’ve ever served under and we worked close with the Russians in Iraq.
Petraeus should be saying, "It's hard, but the Russians are doing a good job with the tactics they are using. I'd be doing actually what they're doing with those convoys".....The 'Eyes' are watching these type of videos.
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
If this invasion has done anything, it has really put Russia's perspective and fears of NATO expansion into the light.
@@FakeSchrodingersCat The dozy Russian demographic might.
Russia is losing a LOT of senior officers. That won't help them learn
@@anguselliott8986 Yes some are dying in combat and Putin has placed 2 under house arrest in Moscow.

Why are you even discussing the m8stake of the aggressor... exposing their tactics' error will just make them correct it and make it harder for Ukraine.
Media is not helping with this type of reporting.
what he said are so bacis things.. we all r so surprised that such professional army is doing such mistakes
I somehow doubt Putin is sitting in his bunker scrolling through the RUclips comments.
@@benanders4412 Yep. If Russia really wanted to they could just roll over Ukraine. Thing is it's better to lose some newbs than experienced fighters.
@@williamhickey2590 Putin spends 15 of his 16 hours he is awake per day on reading youtube comments and 1 hour on coordinating the war.

Rookie mistakes by the Russians, but equally I would ask, why wasn't that exposed convoy utterly wiped out by Ukrainian air or ground forces when they had this golden opportunity? Cannot keep relying on Russian mistakes.
Maybe the lack of resources?
Russia has air superiority.
Ukrainians rubes for NATO expansion and the US military industrial complex
not sure about ground forces, maybe occupied elsewhere or waiting for more intelligence first, hard to say. For air forces, Ukraine is mostly struggling to maintain an air force, they haven't lost it, but I imagine it had been difficult to go after them with Russia pushing to get air superiority. Just speculation on my part.
Actually I think the Ukrainians can rely on Russian mistakes. It is not like Russia can change how it fights wars.
I've read the weather is going to be very cold those tanks are going to end up like freezer, we're going to end up with Russian popsicle
It is time for Putin's inner circle to put him out of the worlds misery. Putin dreams of being Julius Cesar, and the Ides of March is next week!
I vote yes.
I don't think Putin wants to be embarrassed. If he had "best soldiers" they would be in the fight today.
@@tayler2396 I didn't say the scare tactic worked. Clearly, it did not. You only tell unprofessionals that they are going to do training exercises when in reality they are actually going to war. Paid professionals follow orders, even if it means shooting a neighbour.
They are hiding under trees I read
Target the trees.
Cant they just give the jets and be quiet about it.. just thinking out loud
Molotov cocktail Maggie vs 120mm artillery barrage. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Well.... since their range is 2 miles during the day and less at night that wouldn't be a problem.
They already know what they are doing wrong...maybe they really don't want to win 🙄
They can't Putzin banned all independent media in Russia!
Except nobody set out to invade Russia here. Russia is shit attacker.
Fortunately for the Ukrainians, the Russians are employing WW2 tactics in their advance towards them. There is hope for the Ukrainians to put up a stiff resistance with the massive arms shipments arriving daily from the West.
Those Migs that Poland is offering could never help out in a target rich environment like that convoy right. SMDH

Putin is certainly not a good strategist. He is just a “puncher”.
George - I agree. Putin and his generals had the convoy lined up in a 40 mile long "victory parade". He's so arrogant he never expected the Ukrainians to put up any fight much less a spirited one. Now, as you said, he doesn't know what to do because he never thought it this far through.
