  • Hello, it's "Thursday"! This week we are making baby dinosaurs! They also look a lot like dragons! This might be the hardest pattern I have ever released, combining post stitches, colour changes, surface crochet and joining in the round into one roly-poly package!
The written pattern for this will be available on Etsy and Patreon - SOON.
Get access to all my RUclips written patterns on Patreon:
    / complicatedknots
Or post photos of your creatures on instagram:
    / complicatedknots
I also have an Etsy for anyone looking to support the channel, but I do keep most of my patterns free here on RUclips:
    complicatedknots.etsy.com
You can also follow me on tiktok now I guess:
    / complicatedknots

I really appreciate your instruction style. It makes good sense with the visual guide as you go and feels intuitive. You and Skein spider are my favorite crochet creators.

I love your process, and always marvel how you consistently don't use a row marker!
I started amigurumi because I love sculptural projects.😊 You never disappoint, I have learned a lot from you.

I really do love this pattern. Thanks for teaching us how to do it❤.
For the reason of the squeaching hook my grandmother ones toll me that it comes from the oils and sweat of your hands and/or Lotion. So she told me if it appears wash it with grease remover like dishsoap and the dry it of alcohol also works🤗
I'am very sorry if there are any misspellings I'm from germany and writing in english isn't my best😅

you posted this video exactly when i needed it--i was yelling at trying to do short rows for my typhlosion since that was the technique i knew that could achieve the direction swap--the surface crocheting is incredible and much easier to understand! excited to swap to that instead.

Hello, hope you're having a wonderfully fantastically blessed day.
This is the first time I have watched a video that makes and explains the process of an amigurumi. Loved it!
As for the squeaking hook, I buy the small alcohol wipes or the eyeglass wipes with alcohol to remove the residue from your body oils and the residue from the yarn. Rub vigorously. Hope this helps. 1:19:52

FIrstly, i love this adorable little guy! also, I really like the technique for working back and forth. Whenever i'm making things in the round and i have to work back and forth, the difference in texture of the stitches bugs me so much and I thought there was nothing I could do about it! so thank you

This little guy is so cute!
Also, btw, I think I've figured out how to do short rows without having to deal with the stitches looking "different." Just pick the side you want to be your "right" side, and then on rows where you have the "wrong" side facing you, you keep the yarn on your side and stick the hook into the stitch from the "right" side of the work. I did that on a plushie, and honestly I can barely tell which rows had been worked from the "wrong" side. It's a little finicky, since you're so used to "having the yarn on the side of the work furthest away from you and sticking the hook into the stitch from the side closest to you" so "having the yarn on the side of the work closest to you and sticking the hook into the stitch from the side furthest away" feels *wrong,* but I personally consider the extra hassle worth it for a cleaner look. (If I'm being honest, the only *real* difference between the two is just the barest "tilt" to the stitches where the stitches of one row are "tilting" a little in one direction and then the stitches of the row above/below are "tilting" the other way; but you have to be LOOKING for that to actually see it.)

so cute! you are so freaking creative and talented, i love your work!
about the squeaky hook, i've really only noticed it when my hands were a bit damp, so if i just washed my hands, or picked up a drink with a bunch of condensation on the cup, etc. once my hands are fully dry, it tends to stop squeaking.

ETA: I just had to trust the process. My brain wasn't accounting for turning and it worked out fine. The kid said that the tail looked like a croissant so I was successful!😂
Thank you for my awesome croissantasaur that my kids will not be allowed to steal.❤
The end of the backrolls seems wrong to me. Row 30 is 21 stitches, the next is 18 somehow then row 32 is only worked into 15 stitches. This would make it not so symmetrical too. Am i missing something here? 2:17:30

On the hook squeaks: For knitting, (I'm a crochet novice forgive me) I notice the squeaks when the yarn is too tight around the needle. Maybe it's the same for the hooks?
