- Welcome to episode 47 of liberty Junction
Featuring unbiased award ceremony, hot offers, hot news, hot everything, it’s so fricking hot it’s almost melting your screens !
As I always say thanks a million to all my subscribers, and thanks to everyone that watches my videos, if you haven’t subscribed please consider doing so, I like my subscribers quite a bit more than my none subscribers I almost love them, not quite love but better than friends😆
Thanks to the commenters and folk that share these on, they’re intended as light hearted entertainment, some are absolute crackers some a bit more serious. I love the model railways, I love filming them going about their business and I love chatting about them. No one in my house is interested in listening to me chat about them, hence I chat to you guys. Feel free to ask any questions.
The intention of this channel is to come at a different angle from the usual and do my own thing which may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
It gets me some peace up here in the loft though so I’ll keep it going. I only have a small fleet as they’re all the new sound fitted models and it’s a new hobby so don’t expect a different loco in each video. Hope you like this one, cheers! Dave

A MINI adventure ! Love the disclaimer Another funny, interesting and amusing video, bringing much needed enjoy to our hobby. 😀
Apparently they all needed new tyres after that little stunt! 👍 thanks for watching
Hi Dave,
Well done to Cavalex for winning such a prestigious award. And what an excellent deal on the Mini Owners club too.
Cheers Kev
Cheers Kev, mini club is expanding nicely now 😃
Yeah, The Cavalex 56 is top top loco. I love the twin fans . winner all day 😊
👍😃👍 absolutely
Great update DoD! Totally agree with you on the Cavalex 56, they deserved something for the effort in producing so good, I’m hopeful of getting up to the nec on the Sunday if I can, cheers Darrell 😊👍
Still waiting to find out if I’ve got the leave… ⏰⏰⏰ not sure what the hold up is 🤷🏻♂️
Absolutely top class video from the People’s Republic of Liberty Junction. What a great start to my day. How I wish I owned a mini van…..but I gotta save up for a Cavalex 56 now. Cheers Dave.
Mini vans were so cool! 😎
Lethal weapon was actually filmed in my back yard.
Top video as always Dave, Cavalier deserved the award 🎉
We’re both spitting facts out like Encarta today 😎
Hi Hylt. Was Joss Ackland your grandad, or is that another piece of OO Dave hyperbole??
@ oh no, my surname is out in the wild now 🤣
Hi Dave, Our certificate hasn't arrived yet 🙄. I'm only just catching up on videos. I'm behind after going to the 009 exhibition at the weekend, Dylan did really well with his part in the lecture, and lots of people came up to talk to him about and to look at his layout 😁👍
The buildings were looking superb when I saw it last 👍 you guys doing the NEC?
@doubleodave no, we're not going to the NEC. The next one we're doing is a small one at Wirksworth, then it will probably be Doncaster next year 🙂👍
I’ll probably do Donny - ps I blame the postman for your certificate going missing
@doubleodave maybe he was the postie that got chased by the dog on our postman video 😁. We'll be at Donny on Sunday 🙂👍
Decent - could have been.
Is Donny still February time?
yep getting tickets to NEC for the Sunday! looking forward to it :D
Decent fingers crossed I can get the time off 👍
Double O Dave, I just bought a plastic machine don't want to say what kind incase some old grandad get idea's. Anyway I'm going to start knocking out retaining walls when I designed a mould(s), probably start one that's the same size as the common ones that people use so they can swop them out to plastic if anyone wants, it's not coming till 3 to 4 weeks. Probably going to have to get a large 3d resin printer to help making the moulds plus get some material samples but when I've got something finished I'll send you some and brick walling. Going to try and do a nice blue brick as well as the normal, give me 3 months.
If you get super good on those 3d prints mate - me and thee can become besties 😊😊😊 I’ll certainly buy some goods off ya 👍👍👍🍔
Almost got one last year but can’t really get my head around how they all work and the software etc
@@doubleodave I'm not looking forward to the software either but I could always do it the old fashioned way a drawing, I know how mould drawings work which is the best way to start anyway because you got to have some idea before you start so I could just send a drawing off to someone to convert or just knock out a mould in plastic or just order and 3d moulded part and do a George Lucas lights and magic job like they did in star wars, 100 airfix kits and a sharp knife and super glue. 😁
Fantastic episode Dave, totally enjoyed it thanks mate. Got to say my cavalex 56 (sound fitted) is the best loco out there by a million miles. Have you got any there there cream left? Please try to keep the nonsense coming mate. 👍
Sold out of the cream mate too many offended people in this one 🤣👍👍
Love that magazine cover ,lot of work gone into that double:’0’ regards Fred 👌😎☕️
Professional printing company mate 😊😆
I have 27 cones and I hire them out at a quid a cone per day. I am speaking from the US Virgin Islands on my personal island from my super yacht.
Word of advice - don’t go to one of P Duffys super yacht parties 😄👍
You managed to beach your yacht again? Tsk Task.
Barry Island, more like! Bore da, 56xx
I'm on the lookout for a Cavalex 56 after watching Red Buffers. Sad to see the official nameplates gone! Can Metro owners come up for a mini meet? Asking for a friend.
Ps name plate not necessarily gone forever 😊
I was chatting to Cav at GETS about the standard of their 56s. Comparing their models to other manufacturers I said I see Bachmann as being like a Mercedes, well made and expensive but you know what you’re getting. Accurascale are like Alfa Romeo, beautiful models but a bit fragile at times. Cav said it was interesting because they see their models as being like Aston Martins, if you want the ultimate you get the Aston. They really are next level and nothing else comes close.
Hi, I spoke to him at the show on the Sunday, he’s a very genuine level headed person, their class 56 is a superb locomotive and deserved the award for the best loco of the year, how it didn’t win is beyond me I guess Accurascale have a bigger customer base, I hope and pray Cavalex revisit the class 91 after they have won everyone over with their class 60. Hornby didn’t do the class 91 any justice at all in my opinion, maybe Cavalex will look into mk3 & 4 coaches in the future.
Absolutely - and this is why there’s none for sale second hand on eBay!
I wish I’d bought a few more when they were available
Cheques in the post for the mini owners club 😂
👨🏻⚖️ “guilty, that’s 2 years”
I'd be let off on grounds of diminished responsibility, I have a reliant Robin 😂
@@DeanRatcliffe 😮
The mag 😂😂😂 - you wanna get one of them z-carz minis, space frame jobbies. Top video kidda
Yeah they’re top notch, I think we’ll have one of those, probably by the next episode 😉
Dave, luv your videos and your humour!!!, i loved the loads which you have in those low ews wagons, looking to do something similiar, any chance you can show what loads you have in the wagons and where to get them from please in a later video? Also where did you get the track workers from please?, bacon butty in the post!
Hello mate course I can I’ll stick it on the to do list, most of the figures that look decent are all Bachmann Scenecraft all the rail worker ones are. Most of the cops, the graffiti lads and a couple of other decent ones I think we’re all modelU that I painted. Then the ones that look half dodgy bad are cheap eBay China ones but I gereslly keep them for Bach scenes or if I’m going to cut them up for stunt scenes 😃 - I’ll talk through the wagon loads in an upcoming video as until I go and look I can’t really think what’s what lol 👍 cheers pal
Dave, thank you for the video!!, I.m off to get the wagon loads!!!!, bacon butty in the post !!!!!!, thanks mate , Zak
@ top man brown sauce on it 👍👍👍
Joss Ackland was related to Hilton, he died recently, a great actor.
Ah the “diplomatic immunity”bloke! :(
I didn’t realise he was that old - time flies
I would agree. The Cavalex 56 is an excellent model. Definitely locomotive of the year. I ordered one when they were first announced upon receipt. I was that impressed. I purchased four more and will do it when the second batch is released.
I will be attending The National Festival of Railway Modelling 2024. On another note Rails has once again helped it's self to my cash by sending me another locomotive I don't need. Oh well, never mind.
Another 31? - if I can get the time off I’m gonna get a ticket bought, forces me to make the effort then 👍👍
@doubleodave I have two more Class 31s on order. No. Dave. more Cavalex Class 56s
I ain’t sent any offers coz you need an Accurascale 31 😁👍 top vid as allways pal and I voted for the 56. 31 is gonna tek some beating for next years I tell ya!
Hmmm hmmmmmmm I’ll see what other liveries look like when they come around 👍
As much as I like my Accurascale Class 31 as I hopefully will do the next two on order. I am sure locomotive of the year 2025 will be Accurascale Class 50.
Hi, great video update, there’s no way the Accurascale class 66 was the best loco of 2024! It might be better than the Hatton’s original except for the speaker downgrade! For me the Cavalex class 56 was the best hands down by far, maybe people were cheesed off because they didn’t produce enough of them while the class 66 was readily available, if the Accurascale refurb model had space for the EM2 speaker and the dashboard lit up then I would have purchased one, it didn’t so I’m happy with my Hatton’s and Bachmann models, the Legomanbiffo original sound in the Hatton’s 66 is awesome and hasn’t been matched since, I hope Cavalex revisit the class 91 because Hornby’s effort was a let down in my opinion, I’d rather a Cavalex class 60 because they know how to go all out for what they believe in and put their heart and soul into their models and it shows, thanks for sharing.
I’m still yet to experience an em2 speaker I bet they’re next level!
@@doubleodave If you ever come across an original Hatton’s class 66 that you like livery wise buy it, I bought mine dcc ready and happened to have the special 21pin sound decoder from Modellbahnshop-lippe for about £60 and had a EM2 in my possession for a while I was going to fit into another locomotive but used it in the Hatton’s model, I got the sound file from Charlie at DC Kits and then fitted it along with a driver, take it from me it’s one of the best sounding locomotives I have and the bass is thunderously deep! You won’t be disappointed and that’s a promise.
@@doubleodave They really are next level, luckily they are helped with a Legomanbiffo sound file.
@@StormmyStormmy I’ll keep an eye out for one
A cream for the offended? Nice.. Have to be Big TUBS!. And Damn!! I never made the commentary list!! Crash and Burned have I! Noooooooo. Where's that Via duct? Think I may have to dive off LJ. As for The Cavalex. Do not have one yet. YET! But by all accounts including yours. A Damn fine Piece. was actually very suprised they won nothing, considering the hype around it. Anyhoo, heading to a dark closet so i can sulk for a bit...... Good Video though Dave. sniff.....lol
I know mate it’s crazy times these new technologies telling me who’s done this who’s done that. You must have just scraped under 😞
At least you can snuggle up to kylie minogue with a nice glass of Australian red and hum the tune of Neighbours together whilst avoiding all those big huntsman spiders 😱
Another interesting and amusing video, bringing more enjoyment to the Hobby.
Keep up the Great Work.
x The Bigfella x
ps. Any chance of an overall view, of the layout, or plan of layout, or a drone view ..
This request is top of the list for the next video big fella, I promised you this before i remember now but forgot to write it down and then forgot! This time it’s wrote down 😃
Richard is at the dublin show with accurascale this weekend.if I see him ill remind him about your loco😂
You’re a good un 😆👍
Anarchy at LJ!
"Backhanded shenanigans"? Bit difficult when it's the public who vote in these awards. It's basically a numbers game. More people have bought/know about Accurascale than Cavalex. The same happens with the Model Shop award.
That 56 does look great, though.
Glad to see/hear no criticism of St Charlie's hat trick 🙃. He's a Cavalex fan too.
Haha I’m just playing silly games 😇
I like you DMU or EMU what ever it is? My layout plan for my first layout (for 30+ years) is going to be 4 lines of track for 42 yards.
When I bought it I thought it was a DMU as I didn’t read the advert and just looked at the photos, then when it came the box says EMU which is crazy as we don’t have electrification here so we’ve actually had to manufacture a smaller version of a nuclear reactor similar to what powers nuclear submarines, cost us a fortune but it was the only way round it.
Four lanes sounds like it’s gonna be decent 👍
@@doubleodave I like the DMU's and EMU's, nothing after the 70's theo. I'm thinking of buying one of them dapol rail buses or car and try and do a good job at one, motorised, nice paint job, glass, 2 geared motors and a bit of bling. Any idea about a good airbrush Dave good enough for spraying OO gauge (cheap you know I'm Steptoe) without looking like the skin of the rice pudding?
@@PeckhamHall to be fair the airbrush I use is literally one of those generic cheap Amazon ones as long as you keep it clean it’s fine. I’m gonna try the Vallejo Air paint next though as the enamel stuff is a bit stinky and I never wear mask etc so does me no favours!
@@doubleodave So anything should work if you get a proper compressor, cheers
Top comment on Cavalex 56 DD! I spoke to your mate Richard at GETS and I think they were surprised to win Best Loco. More about best manufacturer I think. I put in a reminder about your Colas 37, which is probably why he is not talking to you now! Sorry 😳
I’ve heard they used mind control devices to modify the results of the awards 😵💫😵💫😵💫
@@doubleodave probably true, but Sam must have special head protection to prevent this: he is not so impressed with the Class 31 😳
I'm going to the NEC are you going to Manchester
Is that another show? You’ll have to forgive me I’m fully clueless as to the shows 😬
I'm just wondering if you get three pats on the back with the "There There" cream? I think you hit on the road work scam that they just put out cones and, in that way, they simulate they are working, lol. You will have to let us know if Cavalex Models Limited come through for you, mums the word. Mini's gone wild! Sorry to hear you have a troll under one of your bridges giving you a DISLIKE on your content but that tells me the troll watches every installment, what's up with that. I'm also wondering if Hylton and his misses will be talking to you after this, lol. I have to say you have the gift of gab. Great video, Jersey Bill
I actually like the dislike persons consistency 🤣🤣🤣
Hylton’s fine it was a true story… ish
😇😇😇
There there cream gives more of a soft circular rub rather than a pat - hope this helps 😃👍
I feel your pain about being ignored for sponsorship from the top brands. It's their loss as much as yours.........well, more yours........almost totally yours actually. Anyway, I promise you this, if I ever secure my dream job of Managing Director of Hornby, you will be assured of top level sponsorship. 🤝🤝🤝 (< that's 3 golden handshakes btw; they're not chickens without legs or a head).
Haha yeah but if i keep playing these crazy tricks I might just trick them into thinking that’s what they should do 😆
It’s like what Arnold Schwarzenegger said when he moved to the USA and no one wanted to give him that starring role “yo Adrian i did it”
@@doubleodave They just don't realise they need some craziness in their lives.
Cavalex we’re never going to get an award for the 56 unless it was in br green or was numbered for western or Scottish region modellers 😂. Sooo many of those layouts featured on RUclips.
Would love to join mini club with my 1275 GT ! But can’t as I’m going to prison for wanting to pay by check.
Nice to see the return to the nonsense, normal service has been resumed. Was going to give you a thumbs down for the hell of it but might cost you two and a half pence in algorithm adjustment. 😝
Haha blumin ekk mate two years for you by the sounds of it 😆 haha don’t you dare thumb it down lol
So entertaining. I loved your comments about introducing advertisers. I notice that a prominent American channel has just started that nonsense which has almost prompted me to unsubscribe.
Absolutely Mel, even more so when they’re pushing absolute crap! Proper winds me up!
I've got a 1999 cab Yamaha R1 engine if anyone wants one for there mini? Cheap
I’d love an R1 engined mini 😈
@@doubleodave Got one if anyone after one, I don't know if you're a mini guy, or just doing the OO Italian job.
You never fell for my 42 yard layout, scale yards. Got to get another soldering iron one with a tight tip otherwise bang no lead in my pencil.
@@PeckhamHall I do love minis, they’re about priced out for me now though. Yeah I didn’t get the 42 yards thing I don’t wake up until after 10 generally 🤯
@@doubleodave I remember back in the day I looked through the express and star news paper and dragged my dad up the road for a metallic blue mini gt1275 front end with a full body kit, it was around 1992 and I was 14 and my dad just didn't see the appeal with the kit on, he used to rent a mini for a day mod the engine a bit and go rallying in them back in the 60s, he was a founding member of the Dudley car club, now you know I'm a yam yam.
