Another good vid mate, looks and sounds like the booster plug installation has slightly helped to smooth out the throttle action. And even though it wasn't as much of a noticeable improvement that was being claimed, I like your positive attitude that any improvement is always a good improvement 👍🏻
Thanks mate. Yeah it is definitely better. You'll have to dust off the VMax and we'll go for a ride soon. Christmas break soon and I'm taking off two to three weeks. So plenty of time for rides for me anyway! 🙏👍🏻
@@motoant Count me in for that mate, the Vmax has been sitting there under its cover for about 3 weeks now. It's definitely due to be back out on the road 👍🏼
Tnx for sharing, enjoy watching your rides, though i can't hear or feel the Versys im familiare to, my -18, top spec. Is it due to less horsepower, or only emmisions standards? i'm from Norway, and my 'Lizzy' have 69 plus horsepower i think, and runs smooth, with that fantastic sound from the p.twin engine. on low revs and up to plus 7000rpm. Keep sharing.🙂
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I think Euro 5 fuel re-mapping started MY19 (2020). Because of the lean idle fuel/air ratio you also get aggressive engine braking and some backfiring! In Australia we can only buy the reduced power version. We can get a dyno tune done to fix it.
Only a slight improvement on my model. I emailed Boosterplug and they said the plug wouldn't be faulty and basically some people have better results than others. I now have a 2023 Versys 1000 and it is less snatchy than the 650 with a plug installed...
@@motoant My 2015 is terrible, you can decelerate and begin to open the throttle and nothing happens for a while. Totally unacceptable engineering from Kawasaki, so I will install the plug soon and hope for the best... Thanks
@@motoant Well my experience is just about the same as yours. I installed it yesterday and tested it today and what I find is noticeably less snatch but some of it is still there and it still feels like you throw out an anchor when turning off the throttle however not as bad. What has always bothered me about this bike is when you let off of the throttle and begin to roll it back on nothing happens for a 1/8 turn of the throttle and I still have some of that. Overall it's worth it but just barely.
@@Bud_51 I also adjusted the TPS (throttle position sensor) and secondary TPS approx. 1mm clockwise and it made a noticeable difference. Fine tune as needed and stay within 1mm difference. There are factory blue marks on them for alignment. Some people check the voltage outputs with a multimeter but I just did the visual adjustment.www.kawasakiversys.com/threads/on-off-snatchy-jerky-throttle-experiment-fix-free.227014/ www.kawasakiversys.com/threads/tps-setting-adjusting.5094/
I bought mine from Motor Works in the UK www.motorworks.co.uk/kawasaki-versys-650-2017-2020-fua10212-1.html You can also purchase directly from BoosterPlug www.boosterplug.com/shop/boosterplug-kawasaki-583p.html
Thanks for your input. I tried everything when I first bought it. As I mentioned in the video, it's because of Euro 5 emissions rule. Idle is too lean at idle so when you open the throttle you increase the revs but also the amount of fuel/air ratio. MY19 model I think is the first of Euro 5.

This is the first review that did not praise the booster plug, everyone has said the the snatch is gone?

@@motoant Thanks for that info. I'm a retired Master ASE tech, I should be able to pull that off...
Are you able to link to where you got it from? a quick google seems hard to find in Australia

Check the free play in your throttle cable it is probably way too much free play which gives the impression of a snatchy throttle.
No, it’s real snatchy due to a lean tune at idle, worst I’ve ever experienced
