+Mmeronk thank you so much. I've learned Flowers, Eternal Reflection, Horizon, Eclipse, Feather, Luv (Sic) Pt. 3, and Aruarian Dance, most of the songs i learned was from the tutorials from you! My dad showed me this artist Nujabes and we both listened to him 24/7 and we kinda got addicted to him. Fast forward 1 year later, my dad dies. It made me so sad and the only way to make me happier was to listen to the Modal Soul album by Nujabes. I still to this day listen to the album every single day and its what keeps me happy everyday. I wanted to learn these songs on the piano and u helped me do it! playing these make me feel accomplished and so happy. You are a legend to me. Thank you. (I'm 12, it'd mean the world to me if you responded or liked it or just did anything to show u were there.) (P.S. I'm self taught i started out with my first song being River Flows In You - Yiruma and i've gotten way better at piano from your tutorials. Keep up the good work :) )
+killadead Thanks, that is awesome. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. It is beautiful that you were able to share in that connection with him by both your love of Nujabes. I know what Nujabes' music can mean to a person, especially for me, aruarian dance, kumomi and imaginary folklore have huge emotional attachments for me. It meant so much to me during my time studying abroad in Japan, and it immediately takes me back to a place of a deep, wonderful feeling that knows that "everything's gonna be ok," and that was crucial for me at certain times in my life. I'm happy for you and I hope you keep on playing and feeling good inside.
Mmeronek - Pianobreaks I can't thank you enough, really. Also the fact that you took the time to respond back means the world to me! I have every Nujabes album and some of the tribute albums. It brings the same feeling of safeness. You made my life so much better. I plan to learn every song on piano by Nujabes. And you're helping me reach that goal. I can die happy knowing every song because i feel that's the only way to connect with my dad. You are amazing. Again, thank you. - Xavier
I’m sorry for your loss man and for you to have to deal with it at such a young age, I’m 13, but I guess now you’re definitely older than me. It for some reason, always makes me nostalgic/sad when I see videos or comments from years ago and knowing the people age and thinking about how old and how different there lives are now but I know I can’t go back in time because this is just how the world works but what I’m trying to say is I hope you’re doing well right now in this time and everything’s working for you. Again I’m sorry for your loss, Goodnight.
I remember only learning half of part 1 maybe 10 years ago… now I’ve got some free time before I start working and figured I should finish the rest :) thank you for making such a helpful tutorial for such a beautiful song that has stuck w me through all these years.
Thanks! Yeah I'm sure it helps with chords especially, a lot of guitar players tell me they love being able to visualize chords on the piano too (I started with trumpet, so melody/right hand was easier for me). If you're looking for more lessons, I just released a bunch that teach this style, so definitely check out the "Jazz Piano Chord Lessons" on this channel, I think it will be perfect since you know a bit about music already.
Aurarian Dance, Feather, A piano version of Lady Brown that blew my mind, and most of all, Another Reflection. All those songs have convinced me that Piano is the instrument that i'd want to learn the most. If only I had the money for both the lessons and instruments. Hopefully someday. And also, The songs, "Puke (Analog version Side B)" by Hidetake Takayama, and "The Housewive's song" by Joachim Kuhn are truly beautiful...I'd kill to perfect and perform those songs on the piano. lol.
@aquacy hahaham same here, awesome tutorials, and even though I don't play the piano, just learned a few things, and never tried anything this complicated, I feel like learning both of these :)
Awesome tutorial! If you showed Nujabe's Blessing it that would be amazing. It's originally Pharoah Sanders - Save our children. Those chords are so handsome I can't find them anywhere.
I noticed you play E flat with your bass clef when you hit B going down with treble cleft.... when you play E flat B G flat and F. I was wondering why It sounded a bit different when I played it. very well done! :) I learned the whole thing.
Nice tutorial... I just couldn't wait for a tutorial like a couple years ago so i just printed out some sheets and learned it that way but mine were different from yours... Anyways good job!
Thank you very much for this, I realy like it. But could you give us notes, or just write down which keys to play. That would be very helpfull. And again thanks for just sharing this tutorial, this is already very good.
Mmeronek words cannot describe how much I love your piano tutorial videos!!! You play so gracefully I can faint! Oh and what kind of pianos do you own? How long have you had them, how much did they cost, and what store did you get them from?
yw! :). I only have a keyboard, a Yamaha PF-500 I bought a long time ago (the keyboard you see in the lessons). When I was younger I used to use my parents' piano and school pianos every chance I got. The PF I got at a guitar center.
With beginners, do you mean absolute newbs? because I kinda am one of those, but I stopped by to check your awesome tutorials and decided to suscribe. Thanks you :)
sure, go for it, I am making a piano tutorial website with a bunch of free content as well as a membership with a ton of videos that teach how to play this style of jazz, would you mind if I put it up on there at some point? I would give you full credit for it
Love you bro, 12 years later and still learning from you!
Little this person know, this song is now popular in 2023

That is a beautiful song, and noone has done it yet? Wow... that one will be a toughie to teach though! lol.
Note: The chord from 7:10 to 7:30 is actually
B-Eb-A
(instead of B-D-A)
I don't even have a piano that big but I'm watching this despite that I'll be able to learn
Is there any possible way you could put up a tutorial for "Another Reflection”?
You should do a tutorial on DJ Okawari - Bluebird Story. That would be awesome since there is none youtube :)
Mmeronek words cannot describe how much I love your piano tutorial videos!!! You play so gracefully I can faint! Oh and what kind of pianos do you own? How long have you had them, how much did they cost, and what store did you get them from?
