    Ok i gotta be honest here... i simply loved the analysis of the chords....even a novice player could easily grasp to them by simply paying attention to your analysis. I absolutely adore how this so simply analysis can bring so easy teaching potential. My grats on the method and the presentation as well!

    Your breakdown of everything you do in the song is amazing. This is easily one of the best and most comprehensive tutorials that I have seen on RUclips.

    One of the most clear and articulate tutorials I've seen. Thanks.

    I've been getting a LOT of requests for tutorials lately, so I'm going to release the next video with a message asking for what tutorials people want the most, and let them upvote the ones they like. I'll probably pick 1 from the top three, so make sure another reflection is on there! Hopefully it ends up being one that you want to learn.

    I learned it in 30 minutes THANK YOU. Listening to good music is great but being able to play it is even better.

  • @mmeronek

    You could use a C7 altered or b9, which would be:
    Left Hand - C G Bb
    Right Hand - E Ab Eb
    Or the RH can play E Ab Bb Eb
    Another you can use for the RH is: E G Bb Eb
    All of those should go back to the F Major 9th chord

  • @mmeronek
    @mmeronek  11 лет назад

    You're welcome, and it IS tricky, it actually took me awhile to tackle it, because I was scared of all the chords and thought I couldn't do it. Once I did it though it wasn't hard at all, and I felt stupid for waiting so long to play it, haha, it was progressions I had already played. Goes to show to TRY things before I scare myself away from them!

    I've been waiting for a Flowers tutorial forever! Thank you so much! When I first heard this song, I tried learning it by ear like I usually do, but it's so tricky. I can't thank you enough! :)

    haha I'm doing some 'remodeling' after getting a lot of requests for selling individual packs, so it won't be a membership anymore, just a straight $20 per pack of 15 lessons. None of that 'pay per month' stuff, I think it just complicates things. I'm working on it a lot right now and should have it up in the next week or two!

  • @mmeronek
    @mmeronek  11 лет назад

    Thanks! Yes, I've been getting some requests for that song so unless other people ask for another, that'll be next on my list

  • @fiftyfivedaggers

    No problem Mark! It was done really well and I hope it stays in your future videos! It makes it a lot more convenient for us avid musicians who can just read the chords while we play along.

    Thanks again mmeronek for the tutorial. I've been meaning to learn this song for a while now. Ever since you uploaded this one I wanted to learn right away. Unfortunately life takes its toll and gives you no time at all. But today, today I had all the time in the world to sit through the whole video. It feels great to be learning and playing again. Thanks again for your efforts!

    Hey thanks, that's great to hear, and for mystline, if I get more requests for it I'll do it, but for now I'll definitely add it onto my list! Right now I will probably do Another Reflection as my next tutorial.
    Sakamichi no Apollon is great, I've been listening to the soundtrack on repeat in my car for the past weeks, haha. It has so many jazz standards I love, and they got a GREAT pianist and drummer to play those tracks, it's freaking amazing.

    THANKS!! I could not remember that term for the life of me, and thank you for the comment!
    If you caught that I'm guessing you're experienced in music, and I don't know how much these lessons can help you since they're for beginners... BUT, if you want to learn more, definitely check out the pdf I made because it has a lot of things experienced players can practice too.

  • @mmeronek
    @mmeronek  11 лет назад

    haha thanks, yeah now I'm making it a point to reply because I realized it seriously only takes like 15 seconds, and yet some of my comments can really make a difference for other people, even if they are just quick pointers or answering a small question. I think I just never thought it mattered for some reason, but it really does!

    I don't have that much experience with buying keyboards, but Yamahas have been pretty reliable for me, and I really like the sound. I've heard good things about Korg and Rolands too. Good luck man!

  • @mmeronek
    @mmeronek  11 лет назад

    Hey I thought I responded to this, what the heck?
    Here are the main characteristics I would look for (in general) -
    -Full 88 Keys
    -Make sure it has 'weighted' keys
    -Make sure it's fairly portable (the keyboard in the video is huge and very difficult to transport, I don't recommend really heavy keyboards)
    -Pedal
    -Great Default Piano sound that you LOVE. You must love it, because you will probably be playing on it a lot.
    -Record and playback functionality

  • @mmeronek
    @mmeronek  11 лет назад

    Hey I just listened to it, and it does have some really beautiful chords. I'll add it to my list of potential lessons if more people request him.

    Hey man nah I don't have sheet music, I mostly play by ear and usually make these kinds of tutorials to teach what I know.
    Maybe in the future I might make some, but for some reason I have always stayed away from making sheet music. I used to use Sibelius a long time ago and it was pretty tedious and a little boring for me. I can't sightread music very fast without chord symbols either so it doesn't help me much to make it. That's mostly why I don't, but maybe I could write out the chords

  • @mmeronek
    @mmeronek  11 лет назад

    on a sheet with the melody notes, but most people I think are looking for straight up classical sheet music with every note written out.

  • @mmeronek
    @mmeronek  11 лет назад

    Hey maybe this will help ---
    - Don't Even Try it -
    The first 2 chords are:
    A minor 7
    Left Hand - A E G ----- Right Hand - C E G
    B minor 7 -
    Left Hand - B F# A ----- Right Hand - D F# A
    Melody goes like - B E F# G, G F# G A
    Then the next part of the song has the same chords, but one extra chord at the end - E minor 7 - LH - E G B D
    Melody goes - B, B A G F#, G

    Absolutely love your Nujabes tutorials, they're a huge help. Would be amazing if you could do a tutorial of the Mystline solo, as I can't find the sheet music or any videos of it.
    Also, was curious if you'd heard of a show called Sakamichi no Apollon?
    If not, you might want to look up the Medley scene from episode 7, as it kicks all kinds of ass.
