I think this is great warm up ride for the “Dragon”…but if your looking for less traffic and shenanigans Cherohala is probably better. Thanks for watching!
Great Video! We are wanting to do Cherahola this Fall. Tapoco Lodge is a great place for lunch and refreshments! We enjoyed meeting you at Main Street in Schuylkill Haven! See you on the road!
I certainly won't tell you you're wrong! One of the best single rides I've had was the Skyway (and I've been riding for fifty years now). I got on at Tellico Plains, late morning on a Wednesday in October, with two cars ahead of me. They both made the turn to Bald River Falls, and from there on I had the road entirely to myself! Not only nobody coming up from behind but very few going the other way. Incredible ride. Different story when I got to the Dragon, didn't enjoy that much at all with how many were on it (especially the two yahoos on GSX-Rs who chose to pass in a really stupid spot, second guy nearly blew the next corner in front of me). Too bad it was so damned cold when I went to ride it again this past October, cold front came through overnight and I was told it was still only 25 degrees up there at noon when I was about to head up, had to skip it, wasn't dressed for that!
When I lead a group that has never been on the Dragon I start them off on Cherahola to get used to the curves. Then I take them on the Dragon The skyway is much easier to ride on any cruiser but can be a tad boring for sport bikes.
Do them both one day ride, dragon is over rated many roads in area that don't have the crotchroket racers trying to kill you riding wrong side of road and passing in curves.
Interesting. I found the TOD to be exactly as advertised. I enjoyed it immensely. Then again, when I was riding it, I only owned a motorcycle and so road everyday on the bike. I would also practiced in a parking lot weekly to keep my skills tuned. Riding was second nature. It really depends on what you are looking for when planning your routes (i.e. the why you ride), the skill of your riding (NOT your perceived skill), and what motorcycle you are riding.
The Dragon and the Cherohala are two very different rides. Whether or not you consider one “better” than the other depends upon your intent.

You hit the nail on the head.

It was so nice meeting you as well ride safe!

I rode the dragon in January with snow and ice on the ground…watch for that video 🤣
I agree! But, I always ride both in the same day and then am home by dark! I love living in north Georgia!
We did too...We'll probably do it again soon!
I love the Cherohala Skyway and agree that it's a much better ride than the Dragon.
I think they are both special in different ways
You are exactly right. I live an hour away and am up there often
That's awesome
Looks like lottsa kudzu growing in that area. Don't leave the bike parked near it too long, it will claim it overnight.
That’s what I’m sayin’ …I love the kudzu
The Cherohala is a much nicer ride than the Dragon. It isn’t nearly as technical, but it has beautiful views and the road is awesome.
I can’t wait to take my MT-07 on it…we went in January and there was snow and ice on the ground …we decided to not chance it with the elevation
I love them both for different reasons . Skyway is longer, faster and more flowing. The Dragon is shorter tighter more technical and keeps you busier.
I enjoyed both…and I agree with you …sometimes it’s nice just to flow and enjoy your surroundings…
Until we got rained, foggy and smoky (controlled fire) on our descent.
Was this video taken this year? last time i rode the skyway alot of the overlooks were overgrown
We rode last summer in July
You are correct!😃
Glad you think so!
Cool
I live really close to the Dragon 🐉
😎👍
That’s really cool
Looks like a nice ride
I agree
Ur very much right about that
Thanks for watching…I can’t wait to ride it on my own bike and not as a passenger
Cherohala is good spot to warm up tires 😜
I would agree with you…I can’t wait to ride it on my own…
@@ridewithme413 those long sweeping corners are really nice for newer riders and it is not as busy as Dragon... TN-360 is fun road also...

We have a group that wants to go and we actually thought about doing the same thing.
Boring? Alrighty then
@@davidrutledge1482 not boring if you're a beginner on a HD cruiser.
The Mt Washington auto road rivals both.
This sounds interesting …I read it’s the highest peak in the NE, nearly 6300 ft!
@@ridewithme413 Laconia 100th anniversary this yr. Come up. Oldest motorcycle rally in America.
@Chief Joseph what are the dates
Not even comparable, except for the views.

I enjoyed riding it but I agree that it can be overrated
nice dancing!
Cherohala is amazing! TOD is way overrated.
I haven’t had a chance to ride it myself…only as a passenger

These are great ideas and suggestions
Baseball
In normal circumstances I would probably agree. I’m not really a sports gal. However, my question refers to an Easter egg in the video. 😇😎🥰
Tail of the Dragon is much better
🥰 I don’t disagree. I think both are special in their own ways.
