Man some great guitars are probably unsalvageable. I can only imagine how seawater would wreak havoc on guitars as a whole . Hopefully insurance companies will fork out some cash and help these people in their time of need.
    Best regards Tom.☮️

Really interesting video. Makes me think of those huge water-tight peli cases you used to get for food stuff, and if the £1000 investment in that sort of emergency storage would be worthwhile for those living in the path of such storms.... or just chalk it up and buy a new guitar with the money. I'm in the UK and many of use saw the recent Florida storms on the news and had a feeling of horror seeing that happen to you guys over there.

While rational decisions can protect the guitars they are often way down on the priority list in the face of a fast moving storm. It took three hours of prep here to get the guitars out of the racks and stands into the cases and then placed high above projected storm surge. It did prompt me to build a loft 10' AGL and 27'MSL to store guitars and equipment in the future.

No worries' I will just make a new neck, and a new body, and install new electronics ... oh, wait, it is 2015 Mexican Squire ... Do I need this experience? Great Video.
Truth is, I wouldn't have enough experience regarding flooded guitars at this point to take the chance with a customer's guitar, so I would send it to someone like you.

Even if the guitar is beyond repair some people need the damage quote for their insurance company
