I agree with you having more than one hobby in art as it tends to cross over into different mediums and you start to think about using it in other ways. It makes sense to me too. Thanks for showing this. 🌹
Im glad this makes sense to you too!! Thank you for watching!!
Thanks for doing this! I am thinking about doing embroidery on a canvas for my art class and wasn't sure if the actual puncturing of the canvas would look good. After looking at your video, I think i am going to go forward with it. Hopefully my art teacher follows as well ☺ once again thanks for doing this
You're welcome! I'm really glad you found this video helpful! I hope your project goes well!
Wow! This video is so nice and I completely share your point of you, it is so important to try new things, I have felt blocked so many times while thinking I had to stick to one style or medium, even "themes" in my art... Trying not to change the from a subjects or techniques.. but indeed, what you say it's true! Experimenting leads to discovery, to new ideas! I love your little canvases, thanks so much for sharing!!
Came to learn embroidery, leaving with much more 💡 ! Wonderful advice and great video 💕
That's amazing to hear!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, thank you!!
Today I quilted and tried oneline art and added sequins to a vintage VS gown. And I have finished nothing, don’t know if that’s a good thing or not but I do have a lot of hobby/talents
i love your videos!! they inspire me to do more creative and outside of the box projects!! keep up the good work!
Thank you, I'm really glad to hear that! Good luck with your new projects, I'm sure you'll create some wonderful things!
Hi, I really like your video! But I didn't understand how to remove the tracing paper.
Have a nice day! 😊
Thank you !
You're welcome!!
Thanks for this video.I would like to know how you removed transfer paper?
You're welcome, to remove the paper I just tore most of it off, and for the bits under the stitches I used a needle or tweezers to pull the bits out! It's not always the easiest thing to do!
@@EliottBulpett thnx for ur tip
How did you take the original drawing off the canvas after you started the drawing? I have been thinking of doing this for a while. Now I can see it can be done. Thank you.
So I’ve been looking for videos on what I can use to easily transfer my images onto my canvases. What did you use and how did you remove it without damaging the work?? Please help
I draw the design onto tracing paper, then tape the paper to the canvas. I sew straight through the paper onto the canvas and then tear it off from under the stitches afterwards. It’s a bit fiddly but using a pair of tweezers can help
Hi, I'm thinking of doing this too? what kind of thread did you use? is that a yarn? what is it called? thank you in advance. Great video btw
Hi! It’s called embroidery thread, it’s a bit thinner than yarn! Have fun with it, and thank you!
Thanks for this video. Can I know whats the size of the needle u are using please?
Awesome!! Which can are u using? My needle couldn't gk through the canvas I bought..
Hi! Unfortunately I have no idea what kind of canvas it was since it was such a cheap one it had no info with it! It could be the needle you’re using, my embroidery needles come in blunt and sharp versions so maybe a sharper needle could help if you aren’t already using one! Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
@@EliottBulpett oh😔 it's okay!! My canvas board just seems like a cardboard . I bought camlin kokyo canvas..
how many strands of the silk do you use? ive done my own canvas but found a full strand of silk (6) is quite thick - do you thin it out at all?
For these I used all 6 but looking at them now, I think using less would give a much nicer effect! Especially as they're so small, the thick stitches really stand out.
How did you get the wax paper off
I tore off the big bits and then you can use tweezers or a pin to to help pull off the other pieces from under the thread!
@@EliottBulpett tysm for replying!
How did you make the little canvas?
I didn't make it actually, I bought a set of them from my local art shop!
What size is your canvas?
They are 7x7cm!
Maybe next time use carbon paper.
Then you don’t need to bother with getting the tracing paper off
