Ralph Irrizarry is a monster of polyrithm, the independence he has is amazing and the accents on cowbells are spot on. He also pays the hi hat snare and rototom as effects in a tasteful way.

I just recently heard this great congero, Sebastian Nickoll. After listening to other many great ones: Pancho Sanchez, Carlos “Patato” Valdes, Mongo Santamaria, Francisco Aquabella, Paoli Mejias,Tatajuines, Giovanni Hidalgo, Sabu Martinez, “Big Black”, Shiela Escobedo, Candido, Eliel Lazo and Ray Barretto I believe they all are great. Each does his "own thing”. Do you have a great one that you want to add to this list? I am sure I don't know them all.
