Please... just don't lose the channel... it has become important to so many of us! Your content is NEVER boring and always has been informative and fun. Congrats on the new digs!
Tom, sorry for the loss of your friend. Condolences to his family, loved ones and friends. Congrats on a new project (house). Let's see some of your handiwork as you go along. Any video would be great. We love the channel and value your input on anything.
So sorry to hear about Lee😢 I am retired and have a lot of time on my hands since being hit by a drunk driver! I look forward to everyone of your videos with much eagerness as to what you will talk about next! Not much worth watching out there nowadays! Your channel is my favorite by far since I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s and can relate to much of you hunting and rifles since I am a long time rifle collector!
I too have a .35 Whelen built on a A3-03. It was on my bucket list for years. Found one Georgia about 3 years ago. Got my first scope kiss from it. A right of passage.
I own a .35 whelen, love that cartridge. Sorry to hear about your friend. Always leaves a void when someone close passes on, even though they did go to a better place. I don't comment any, but I do enjoy your channels.
Tom I’m doing the same thing right now, I’m renovating my grandparents farm house that was built in 1938. Once it’s finished I’m going to sell my house and enjoy simple living.
Rest in peace Lee. Best of wishes on your new house purchase Tom. Thanks for your help in the past and all of your wonderful video’s you’ve made over the years. I wish you and Mrs River the best always, as well as all of your family members and friends as well. Take care and God bless. ✌️😎👍
Thank you for this video and for addressing the times we are facing, as a nation and a society as a whole. I have no experience with a 35 Whelen though as I'm getting a bit older I've grown an attraction for that cartridge and rifles that would suit it. Every time I think of it now I'll also think of the Black Bears of North Carolina, which I've no experience with either. I'm a Northwestern fellow.
I'm ok with folks having all the space they need. I don't stop listening just because some friend isn't speaking. Take all the time you need, your clean wisdom is worth the wait. Blessings
Tom, you've got to do what you've got to do. Take the time you need and don't worry about us. I'm not unsubscribing or going anywhere else, and I suspect I'm not alone in this regard. Homeownership is a lot of work and takes time; such is life. I'm sure we will be here when you find some spare time. Just be sure to take time for yourself to decompress with all the hot items you have on your plate.
Sorry for the loss of what sounds like a great man. I couldn't agree more with you about the direction of this world. All I know to do is try to pass the knowledge we have on to our youth and try to obtain all the knowledge we can from our elders. And most of all is to pass on what Christ done for all of us.
Sorry to hear about your Friend Lee Passing. Prayers for You n the Family there as well as New House Project... Just jump on when ya can n let us know how you are. Check.
I am sorry to hear about Lee passing away. I am from North Carolina, but I have lived in the Philippines for almost 4 years now. The health care here is not very good at all, actually it is the worst that I have seen. I was an avid outdoorsman all of my life until moving here and an honest to goodness gun nut! Keep up the channel because it brings back the great memories of my past. I always remember my father and grandfather while watching your videos and it helps me cope with being in a country that I really do not like, but I need to be here for my kids. Hopefully one day I can return to the US and get my wife her visa, but I need to talk her into leaving this place first. Take care and God bless!
Well get your house done. Maybe things will come to mind for more awesome videos. I do have a request or wondering if you have ever considered measuring your loads with volume verses grains? Reason I ask is I have spent alot of money on digital scales with all stop at times no matter how much I recalibrate them. I recently have blown 2 primers out the back an when returning home an breaking the cartridges down I could see with my eyes differences in volume in the cases. I shoot at my local range every Thursday along side Larry Broes, world record holder in Bench rest. He uses the spoons an his following its very quick an somehow very accurate. He simply told me powder density changes with every pound of powder I buy an the load that now works may not to some degree my next bottle but if I measure in volume not grains I will be more consistent. Have you ever played around with it? Like yourself I'm a simple living minded person that loves shooting hunting an demands accurate ammo an barrels. Thank you an Lord bless you an his grace be with you on your new adventure.
God Bless Lee and his family during this time. On another note, I will also be surprised if you can get the house work and swap completed. It is going to be one for the books good sir.
Congrats and good luck from the sandhills of NC. I really enjoy your videos. Found them at the beginning of the summer and have used them in my delve into reloading. I have 5 of my 6 rifles shooting "less than an inch" for this hunting season. Best part is they are shooting the bullets I like. Thanks for all the "help" and I look forward to whatever is coming from the channel.
I get called the crazy old guy at work for making some of the same statements about the next couple generations. I guess that’s ok with me if what they do is considered sane then I’m content to be that crazy ole guy. Prayers for Lee’s family.
Sorry for your loss . The loss of a good person diminish all of us. Tom , may our Lord bess you in your endeavors with the hose. I grew up in a family that never borrowed money or took out a loan. My Dad could teach Dave Ramsey how to save money. Can't say the same for myself. Only time Dad spent money was when he could not build something himself. Needless to say we were constantly working on some project. I was his oldest son and a very good reader. He made me read books on organic gardening, cattlemen magazines, tractor repair manuals , and my favorite, gun books. We did everything a farm and ranch could need. We wre good at about any trade required. I do miss those days. Now I try to do as little as possible but don't have much success at it because my wife replaced my Dad as a boss.
All your videos are worth the wait. Make sure and try to squeeze in some videos of the house renovation process. Might be hard with all the other videos ideas you have. Good luck!
Sorry for the loss of your friend Lee, Tom. You gave him a very nice tribute. Good luck on the house work and transition. I share your concern about the economy. I'd like to be surprised, but true surprises are rare.
Sounds like heaven gained another good soul, sorry for your loss. Keep up the good work on the channel friend. Me and the wife are in our early 40s and the two boy's are 15 and 10.... we never miss a single one of your videos. You are a greater influence than you know.
Sorry for the loss of a friend. Regarding your renovations, it appears you're 1/3 of the way there - the demo. It's always sticker shock when paying to take away and build again. Hopefully, the unknowns have been discovered and mitigated. Good luck!
Thank you for the update Tom. We're sincerely sad for the loss of your friend Lee as he sounded like a great guy. Congratulations on your newest project with your house, best of luck and hope all is finished in a timely manner so you and your family can move in and enjoy. I'd like to thank you for your channel, you have a plethora of knowledge and common sense, and have taught me a lot. I like your down home persona and charisma, but most importantly, your love and passion for our country, firearms, self perseverance, and your willingness to share the deep knowledge bestowed upon you with all of us. You're one heck of a man, and we all truly appreciate you! Take care Sir! Cheers from Texas! -Steve-
Hi Tom, I am so sorry you lost a friend. Friends, real friends, are hard to come by. I wish you good luck in your new home… it sounds like you have a lot of good things there in your future. We appreciate you and your calm headedness. And i agree, although i am not near as polite as you are, the under 35 crowd doesn’t know Jack! Hell, half of them can’t even change their own tire!
This video reminded of an album I bought back in the late 70's by Robin Williams where he said " reality , what a concept " . Love your videos . I live in rural Nova Scotia Canada . Good luck with the house .
Good for you Tom!! All the best in your home rebuild. Did you actually get more property and a more remote location? Sorry to hear of your South Carolina friend's passing. Your right about the passing of knowledge and experiences. It's a shame it can't be saved especially if it is not passed on to family. Glad I had the time I had to spend with the older generations of our family. Today it seems the young are not taking away much from family or even spending time to gain from older generations. 🤔 Sad really!! Good Video to catch us up on your future plans!! And again sorry about your fellow Carolinan! Rick in Ole' Virginny!! 😊
Well Tom, it’s obvious that you are a Christian man and I’m thankful that you aren’t bashful about that and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. As far as the dismal state of our nation and our entire society, yes, we should continue to try to show others the light of God until our last breath, but reading Revelations in the Bible, it is clear that things don’t end well for non believers. Many prophecies in the Bible have already come to pass and the rate the prophecies are currently being fulfilled is increasing. I guess depending on which side of the fence that a person is on, that reality could be troubling, or encouraging. No man knows the day, or the hour.
Iv watched your linseed oil finishing on an old rifle stock that had some off color combinations and pistol grip who ever it was should of at least used walnut lol. U did a great job. I'm fixing to start on a new walnut stock for my 700 I'm gonna do your method of sanding it on and rubbing it in.... sorry about your loss and congrats on your new house I'm in the process of buying one also dang it's hard finding what u want in your price range I'm just a working man. Keep the vedios coming.....there is only male and female. When the truth is hated then it's time to be self sufficient and let the world rage. It's all ya can do.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. The part of life that sucks. Keep up the good work and getting that knowledge out there. Hopefully for future generations. I have hope for gen alpha.....
Sorry to hear about your friend 🙏 My daughter lives close to Saluda SC. I’ve spent a good bit of time around there. Always like your hunting videos. Hope you still get to shoot some deer while House I’d going on. Sounds exciting!

.35 Whelen is one of my favorite calibers. I'd love to have a Ruger M77 or Winchester Model 70 chambered for one.
Rest in peace Lee.

Sad that the loss of previous generations took with them knowledge of what public bathroom to use.

Too bad about Lee. I always enjoyed reading his comments. He seemed very knowledgeable.
God bless you and your friend who has passed. We will stick with you through thick and thin.
