Hey Carter - I just changed the filter to "Created is after Today" and it fixed. But just wanted to congratulate on you content and videos. *SUPER* helpful!
Oh snap, thanks for this! I didn't realize it was broken until your video! I changed the formula to 1 second though and it still works. Don't think there's a need to wait 5 whole seconds
Thanks for the video man! I was looking at the quick capture module yesterday and was confused why it wasn't working. Now its working with the work around, thanks!
lol, I like JUST purchased your template and I noticed that it wasn't working, or on my other templates that are set up with a quick capture. I just changed the filter. Thanks for puting up a video. I really like the template too btw! I've purchased some REALLY premium templates in the past and honestly the design was terrible and the organization only made sense to them. But yours was super intuitive and buildable, I could easily add and customize it for what I need. Thanks!!
I didn't realize this as well. I thought "that's the way it is" (and used the blue "New" button .. which still worked). Perfectly explained, perfectly working. Thanks (I had to adjust 10 databases..)
@@ProductiveDude I created a pretty comprehensive platform, The Food Court. The different items to capture are: dishes, sources, creators, shopping, library, groups, menu, eating out, visits, country, city (actually 11). I would be very happy sharing the template (platform) with you for getting your comments and suggestions. How can I make that available for you? There is an elder version on Gumroad. However, this version is old and does not include many of the new features.
Funny. I just discovered the quick capture video today. Implemented it but noticed that bug. Wierd. Okay, found a workaround by filtering everything out that has been created before several years in the future. That works too but will bite you in the butt in a couple of years tho. And several hours later there's your video on the topic 😁 thanks! Your workaround is better by the way
I think I found the solution. Set the view's default template back to an "empty page", then filter on the "title" property being empty. The issue might be caused from setting a default template.
Ah No wonder i couldn't add a new task, thanks for this video!...thought it was because my own Notion app was buggy. Have been clicking on the "New" button instead, and it still captures new items in the database too right?
Woudnt it be easier to filter the notes on created time is empty? By doing this you would keep the quick capture clean and don‘t need the additional properties. Do I miss something?
@@covaloo That is a "list" view database, you can type into notion /column and then select the two column layout, from there you can drag your "list" view of any database over there and follow the tutorials in the quick capture video and this video to acheive this look. Thanks. Maybe I'm doing something wrong because I'm getting an error when creating the capture status prop. Type mismatch prop("Created Time +5 Seconds") is not a Number.
Hey Marc, if you feel comfortable with it, please send me a shared link to your workspace over email. I can check into it if you and get it fixed. All the best, C
Well, thanks for the fix, but why exactly was it broken after the update? I ask because I watch tutorials in order to really understand things and not just be told how to do something 😉
Honestly, I have no idea what broke this or why Notion stopped users from being able to use list views with filters that hide pages from opening pages in side panels. I've heard from others that it still works with gallery view so it's inconsistent. If anything this feels like a bug to me more than it feels like a patch. This tutorial explains how to get around this by momentarily (for 5 seconds) adding the page to the quick capture database. I hope that was a sufficient response. :)

Hey that’s great, I went overkill with the 5 seconds haha!

Keeping it simple and clean is important. Keep an eye out for 2.0 it’s gonna be amazing. :)
I've added a second filter `Task + Is not empty` to the "Advanced filter". Also works fine!
Nice!
Thank you for this video. I bought your template, and because the export/import does not import icons and spaces... it is easier with this workflow.
Great to hear!
I didn't realize this as well. I thought "that's the way it is" (and used the blue "New" button .. which still worked). Perfectly explained, perfectly working. Thanks (I had to adjust 10 databases..)
Woah what all were you capturing to have 10 DBs?

Wow! Thanks!
Thanks for your effort, but what if I used the gallery view instead of list view? I mean without adding new property or formula
Give it a shot, that might work!
Wow dude you were right on top of this issue. 👌
Glad I could help

Yes! You’ll probably have a bunch of untitled notes and tasks! 😂🤔

“Created Time is Empty” broke and it wasn’t allowing users to press the “+new” button to open the side panel.
I set a filter for created time is tomorrow and seems to work out too!
Nice 👍
thank U. Is any tutorial, how to put this block "capture" to sidebar?
It’s not possible to put a database in the sidebar as of right now, sorry.
@@ProductiveDude I meant that in your template there is shortcut to "new task" in sidebar? How is it posible? How to put it there?

It works with filter created time is empty. And using gallery view. Clean ui on mobile.
Thanks for the heads up
Funny thing is, even without this fix is still working great on mobile.
Wow! Thanks for the insight
I managed to resolve it without adding in the extra properties, by turning the layout of the view to gallery.
Interesting! Thank you for the idea. It’s bizarre that the list view no longer allows it
THANK YOU!!!!
You're welcome!
The filter's still showing at the end over here, refreshing the page didn't work :/
Did you tap “save for everyone”?
Thank you

Oh this one!
Yes :)
Sorry, but I can’t understand why is it better to use quick capture like this instead of using button?
Because this video was made before buttons were a thing
@@ProductiveDude So is it the same idea with buttons now or there are some advantages in your way? And by the way, your are awesome explainer!)

Or just use buttons! 😅 (A very new feature, no more than 2 weeks old as of when I'm typing this comment.)
I just got a video up about this haha!
