Buttonwillow Kart Track - First Time Out In A Proper Kart

First time out in my recently purchased kart (KA100 Birel RY30-S9) and am I addicted. Buttonwillow was a very bumpy track and and physically taxing. Setup felt balanced and gear ratio seemed spot on. Tire pressures were probably a bit high. I’ll have to re visit setup once I actually know what I’m doing.
Re-watching the footage has me eager to get back on track and fix all the mistakes I was making. I didn’t realize how early I was braking and my laziness in throttle application. I also need to build up the courage to not be a weenie and carry more speed through the corners. All things aside. I’m fully invested into the sport and cannot wait for more seat time in this thing. Maybe next year I can get into club level racing. Best time was a 57.41, 6 seconds off qualifying pace. Time to work on knocking some time down.
