Sometimes it is politics and only the players that's playing know that

With all due respect, with ALL due respect, Rashad was more talented than JJ as JJ was a shooter. JJ played 15 years in the NBA because he was a professional and worked his ass off to stay. A NBA team will not keep you just because you can score, you have to adapt your game and become a positive on both ends. As great a play as Rashad was, there were 100 players just like him. He never set himself apart. Can't blame Roy for the NBA failures.

One of the best comments typed about being accountable and taking responsibility. The NBA is a very tight community of players, ex-players, certain coaches that sort of live through active players. The talent level in the NBA is extremely small no matter what the stats say. I'm a die-hard UNC fan, but I can't criticize the comparisons of JJ Reddick not initially competing with hoopers if that story is true. JJ Reddick appeared to have worked hard to stay in the league. I watched JJ Reddick's first few years with the Orlando Magic. It appeared that JJ was way over his head during his rookie season. But I also saw his game gradually improve each year after. Honestly, I know Rashad McCants was hands down a much better NBA talent than JJ Reddick, but his game as talented as he was appeared to remain at the same level - I may be wrong.

@@toddsands6000 Rashad was a better overall player & JJ was a better shooter in college. JJ figured out how to make himself an asset to a team and Rashad didn’t. It’s pretty much that simple. Rashad had issues with Roy and blamed him for a bit on him not sticking in the NBA. Roy would tell teams, Rashad was great depending on which Rashad you got. Roy said this when Rashad was in college and while he was in the nba. No NBA team will refuse to sign a player that they feel will help them.

The same could be said for Salim Stoudamire as well

It’s always someone else’s fault with this guy. Extremely talented but no personal responsibility

I'm a UNC alum and Tarheel all my life. Rashad and I attended the same High School in Asheville. With that being said, Rashad McCants is full of BS. There is a reason none of his teammates talk to him and he has no friends.

If Rashad put the same amount of time into shooting that JJ put into being an all around player, he would have had a better career than JJ in the NBA. But Rashad didn't so his career in the NBA was a short one. This coming from a UNC fan.

This was a stupid comment considering his numbers before he left - B.M.A.C.
If you want to hate have some facts sir LOL

@@binyourlanetv It's actually common sense. Rashad never shot 80% from the line in the NBA or 46% from the field. There is your facts for you buddy. Oh and his numbers before he left was not what I commented on and are therefore irrelevant to the issue I brought up. Bring more than your opinion and a junior high level disparaging remark before you comment sir LOL.

just not good enough for that type of NBA(tweener size guard), great college players. He would have done MUCH better in today's NBA; much better!

This guy is delusional. Still making excuses and pointing fingers to this day. Mad cuz JJ had a long successful NBA career and this guy was playing overseas with the quickness.

JJ Reddick had 3 times as long a career as McCants. Yea he stayed his senior season but he had a longer career. It's easy to hate JJ but you ain't touching him in the big leagues

Rashad McCants was still an overall better scorer and player then JJ Reddick all JJ can do is sit there and shoot threes or jumpshots thats it . McCants had an all around game , he can shoot jumpshots and drive to the basket and he had a better NBA Body than JJ Reddick . McCants obviously was blackballed to only be in the league for 4 years

      @@puttingextrasonit blackedball? By who? Himself?
      1) Rashad was a terrible teammate. Everyone knows that and you can see when he tried to expose his alma mater. Where is JJ respected by all his former mates.
      2) JJ came into the league and worked on his game. Rashad did nothing to add to his game.
      3) JJ has a high IQ and is coachable. Rashard didn't even show up to training camp and got dismissed from team USA.
To sum it all up Rashad is the only one who's sidelined his career. JJ had the right mindset and is why he has had a better career. Rashad out here wearing fake J's.

Rashad, Rashad, Rashad... The college game never relates to the NBA no matter where you go.
NBA and staying in the NBA is on the player.
I know Roy bent over backwards for you. Do you bring up the multiple months you sat out? If you had not sat out you would have broke that " mystical record".. Please Rashad, I respected you as a player and former national champion but you need to take some accountability and respect for coach Williams . I stand behind you on non coach Doherty but Roy? Can't do it. I knew him as well as you and we both know... let's be real
