That isn’t Ray’s quote. There’s been various versions of this from ancient texts. Chinese, Greek, Roman, pretty much every well known ancient society has some form of this sentiment. Ray’s just quoting what he learned.

The point Ray makes at 15:10 is so true. The crazy part is when I started going outside everyday to the local park and running drills; people came up to me to try to learn what I was practicing. Over the course of a few months, people gathered and I had a consistent squad of folks coming out to work on our games together. Its a big difference between just going out to put up shots vs. dedicated drills and practice.
Sometimes kids would come challenge me 1:1 and once they lost; they would subscribe to my training program and start coming back to learn more haha. The only thing that didn't change was how hard I worked and everyday I would come back to work on my game regardless of who showed up

LOVE JJ mentioning Jimmy taking the JUCO route and making it to where he is today. HARD WORK and DEDICATION to your work brings you places. Mans making more history in a couple years on one time compared to other players entire careers 😂

I love when JJ has older players on the pod. So much more substance than what the young players can provide.

Agree with this. Compare this pod to the Devin Booker one...

The high IQ between both of them and how they break down the nuances. I like how they talk about coaching kids as well how they break down the game for them

I wasn't aware of Rays military background, some things make more sense now with how he was kind of the outsider in that Boston group. Great sit down, Ray is sharp.

God darn this was my favorite so far Ray really broke down the mechanics of shooting. And hes absolutely right about the ball being too big for younger kids causing the6re shooting form to grow unnaturally. 👌
