If you are not savvy in writing code you can just record yourself doing the task and you will have a script.

I want to schedule the shifts of the operating room personnel by applying restrictions with the software automatically? What software do you recommend?

Where did you get the source of script that you pasted into?

It's been a while, but I was able to locate it on the Microsoft Learn site.

What language is the script? Is it Java script?

That is a great question, and thanks for asking it.
Office Scripts are written in TypeScript, which is a superset of JavaScript. If you're familiar with JavaScript, your knowledge will carry over because much of the code is the same in both languages.

You shouldn't need to download any add ins for this feature. This is a feature that is built into Office.
But as per the documentation, it appears that the ability to use this feature now needs to be enabled by your company admin. This was not the case when I made this video. You can view the documentation here: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/introduction-to-office-scripts-in-excel-9fbe283d-adb8-4f13-a75b-a81c6baf163a?ns=excel&version=90&ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us
The following site has information all about the scripts as well as links to guide admins on how to enable it for their organisation: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/scripts/

i cannot see the automate tab

      Sorry to hear that.
Microsoft loves to roll these features out in waves and as a result it hasn't gotten to all users just yet.
It's currently available to users in the Office Insider Beta channel as well as a smaller number of users in the public channel.
You could sign up for the Insider program to force it, otherwise you may need to wait another month or so for it to roll out globally.

@@shanleung311 Unfortunately, Microsoft likes to roll these features out in waves, so it may be possible that it hasn't gotten to you just yet.
It is possible to force it by enrolling in the Office Insider program and updating to the latest version there. I have included a link here that details which version of Office 365 you need to have installed to get this feature.

Yeah, I don't know WHY, but Microsoft locked Office Scripts to business licenses only. I really wanted to play around with Office Scripts at home so I could see if I could figure out some solutions for files we have at work, but by locking me out of even trying out Office Scripts there's really nothing I can do, and we'll continue to have to use hacky VBA solutions that emulate collaborative editing
