Royal Thunder, the Atlanta bluesy, Southern-tinged hard rock four-piece Brooklyn Vegan described as "Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde fronting Black Sabbath," have completed recording their debut album, CVI. The album will be released on CD/2xLP/Digital on May 22 via Relapse Records.
Royal Thunder is Mlny Parsonz (vocals/bass), Josh Weaver (guitar), Lee Smith (drums) and Josh Coleman (guitar) Видеоклипы
The talent of this girl is too damn high. Not to discredit the other musicians, but she seems to be something special.
her voice is really amazing
The band just really rocks live. There's an energy you get from the live performance that you don't quite get on the album.
wow, thank you for the kind words! we spend a lot of time trying to make these videos as good as humanly possible. with youtube, you still aren't seeing/hearing this at full quality but it's pretty good. i love this band. agreed, that this rocks on a big TV with a good sound system!! thanks again for the good vibes!! best, matt
yeah, i would love to have worked on the record. this band is soooo good. thanks for the kind words! best, matt
hi, thanks for watching. we are trying to let people know about some amazing new music. Royal Thunder is one of my personal favs! support indie Music.
Gotta love when a bassist can crunch it out & sing🤙🏼
sometimes it's better live because there's great energy in all playing together at the same time instead of modern multi-track recording techniques. i record all of these instruments separately while they play live, so i have a lot of flexibility in the mix stage. bleed from other instruments into the mics are my biggest challenge especially because the stage is not that big. Thanks for the compliments and thanks for watching!!
Loved this band for seven years now. This is still the best clip of them, IMO. Great job!
Great job
thanks for the kind words! it is downtown Atlanta. The studio is at the Digital Arts Entertainment Lab at Georgia State U, corner of Edgewood/Park Place across from Woodruff park.
I absolutely love this song on album. It's probably one of my favorite songs of all time. With that said, I have no idea how you did it, but the song sounds a thousand times better in this video. It's just fantastic.
Smells like old spirit
Well, I've been a diehard Royal Thunder fan since 2013, and I'm happy this recording exists because it's really the band in their prime, my personal favorite era. Mlny is a banshee. Josh is a wizard. I'm glad this one of a kind band is still around today making amazing music.
Royal Thunder , where have you been all my life?
you are the rock n roll
Had the pleasure of seeing RT live when they opened for Monster Magnet in Denver 11.19.13. Didnt know anything about them and walked away impressed. They sounded killer and rocked the house. Definitely gained a new fan.
I saw them in Lincoln, NE, such an amazing band, almost too good to be an opening band, they need to be headlining immediately.
Awesome production, awesome location, awesome band. Just heard of these guys but I'm going to catch them at the Scion Rockfest next weekend!
Shes a badasss singer got my approval \w/ \w/
que rico tema
love this!!!! listening to it over and over.... RULING.
Indeed.

Saw them live in Denver - was absolutely brilliant. Can't say enough good about this band.

Still coming back to this one, after cpl yrs.

thank you, thank you. love this band!!
that shit shivers my spine
AMAZING Video. Matt, you and the team really KRUSHED it on this!!! And the band RAWKS!!
grrrity!
I got their Royal Thunder ep, and cvi both this week finally in the mail (they are too underground apparently to find locally here in Australia), and both are incredibly excellent, and yet I'm most impressed that both the live ATL versions of this and Sleeping Witch sound even better than the various recorded versions!
Hope they find their way south of the equator in the not too distant future.
SO KILLER
rock the fuck outta those drums
This is so well done!
do not miss them live. so awesome!
all these videos are freaking fantastic! keep coming back to this playlist
Wow, they're fantastic.

Magnificent bass tone!
Awesome. Album ordered!
O.O...this is amazing!
right on!
J'adore !!!
Cool
Amen brother!
My fucking god!! This guys are awesome
Wow, so good. Vocals remind me a lot of Kat from Babes in Toyland, which is high praise!
Great band, great video + live recording!
greta voice, great band
EPIC!!!!

we're trying to work out a new session with them. the new record is bad @ss
Tremanda banda que sonido, que voz la de esta vieja...amazing!
What a fucking voice!
Ela Canta muito!
Who ever doesn't like this must have been planning for breakdowns.
agreed!
YUT
Great song. Great video too. I agree with all the positive comments about the production, etc. Now, I'm just trying to figure out where exactly was this filmed. It looks like it's downtown Atlanta, but I can't quite tell specifically where. Anyhow, all good! Can't wait to see them at the Earl tomorrow night.
now thats a singer
She has the voice of a Banshee, awesome.
Mooaaaar!
Sounds like someone was listening to Death Magnetic when they wrote this song. Opening riff/chorus sounds inspired by The Unforgiven III.
Come to Mexico City Please!!!!
Mixed some doom metal, alt rock, indie and prog metal= something half as good as Royal Thunder.
One of my new favorite bands, by far. Indie doom has a nice ring to it.
'indie doom' does not have a nice ring to it lol. just call it hard rock for pete's sake!
Meh, rather indie doom. Maybe I'm just tired of doom metal getting overlooked by everyone and their moms.
TourettesSomething Stoner Rock maybe?
***** Nope. Indie doom.
As I said, I'm tired of doom metal being thrown to the side like metal's retarded half brother. Any publicity is good, even if it's "indie doom."
Skies the limit for this band. Saw em twice live, tight as fuck!
Yes they Should be Huge! Saw them twice, phenomenal musicians \m/
i don't know why but somehow these guys reminded me of black sabbath in a very riffy way..
Que bruja esta pana.
1 июля 2016. Песня огонь
hey! I know that van! ;-)
Don't forget Ashes in the Fall at 2:22 haha
📢
Salt Lake with Valient Thorr! I will be buying their shirts knowing I paid for their fast food trip for grub with my cash!
They're headlining the next leg :)
This is great! But what are the lyrics? I keep hearing Little Cesar...and now I'm crazing a Hot N' Ready.
Here's the reason
It's the way that you are
But I'm letting it go
In this season
I am learning in life
That I have no control
So I thought over time
And made up my mind
To throw you a line
It's dead in your eyes and you don't reply
I'm wasting my time
Now I'm driving around playing back all the words
In my head that I should have been saying
I should have been strong
I knew you were wrong
But I just let you break me
Here's the reason
It's the way that you are
But I'm letting it go
C'est la vie
And cry salut
Let it go
Let him choose his own road
And you can push us out
And you can do what you want
But you're on your own
And no one's listening
No one cares anymore
Now you're all alone
So I thought over time
And made up my mind
To throw you a line
It's dead in your eyes and you don't reply
I'm wasting my time
Now I'm driving around playing back all the words
In my head that I should have been saying
I should have been strong
I knew you were wrong
But I just let you break me
You lie
You cheat
You steal
You hurt
Here's the reason
It's the way that you are
But I'm letting it go
In this season
I am learning in life
That I have no control
And you can push us out
And you can do what you want
But you're on your own
And no one's listening
No one cares anymore
Yeah, we let you go
Thanks, I can't unhear Little Caesar, now :p
FUCK FUCK FUCK YES!!!!
Fucking Sick !!!!!!!!!!!!
Alison Mosshart twin?!?
I like how u saying agreed gets 2 likes but his comment gets none
Daa FUCK!!!! that voice make me feel as if my innards were wrestling each other!
Sexy. This is better than the album version in my opinion.
шикарно хуле!
KOMATARA
Let me put it this way motherfuckers - SIMPLY FUCKING BRILLIANT! 'nuff said!!!
that's odd. what do you do??
SUNN amp O_O
guitar has a notable amount of gain here.
that women can growl.
I like "Time Machine"! :) Check out FABIUZ - 11/15! ;)
Singer sounds & looks a little like the singer from WASP. (Blacky Lawless)
Yeah, it sounds like they couldn't catch a break with (what seems to be) their engineer on the album. The bass has no definition, and the kick sounds like absolute garbage. The balancing is good, and the guitars and vox are EQ'd nice, so I'm assuming that the mixer didn't have much to work with with those things. Hence my theory on the engineer.
I wish the engineer who worked on this session did the album. :(
I couldn't agree more. The drums in particular sound terrible on the album. The kick drum sounds like it isn't mic'd properly. And the snare overpowers things in some songs. Damn shame cause they are such a good band.
not.
Sucks
