I(Isobel Jobe) I can watch many RUclipsrs going round Thailand visiting different provinces which is great, but when I want to dream I come to you! You take me where I would just love to be!
Thailand is my first destination everytime it starts getting cold, and last time i was there i had to leave in a hurry to not get locked in... now this year i probably still won't be able to go because i refuse to get the jab. SO your videos is my lifeline, it's my getaway, i absolutley love the slow pace enjoyable videos reminding me of my thai times
My story is the same as yours Viktor. I'd rather not get the jab. I'm thinking about 10 quarantine in Phuket. Also wrestling with the fact that what I will be returning to is not exactly the Thailand I left. But also being able to see Thailand without tourist and seeing some of the beautiful sights without it crawling with tourist bus and boat full of tourist is also a once in a lifetime experience. But ultimately things won't be back to normal until restrictions are eased or done away with all together.
NO WAY! After following you from the beginning you finally brought me back to Tatoo (Taa Tho) lagune were I stayed in 1999 with my boyfriend and had the most wonderfull time of my life!! Thanks you so much for this! I knew you would find it one day! Many Love from the Netherlands! Thank you a thousand times again!
Thanks for the uploads. Reggae bars with a smoking aroma of sweet herbs are always attractive to me and of course the laid back music. I think it will be another year before things will be good for me to travel from Vietnam to Thailand. I’ve just had my first jab .
wife loves the intro music ,and your right less litigation the better .so happy to see these places with explanatin and hopefully Canada will be on that list in the near future
It just makes my day every single time I see a notification from STL. I could watch hours of these fabulous and informative videos. Keep up the good work👍
Another Reggae Beach-bar aficionado. Sweet. Nothing says tropical island vibe more than chilled reggae beats. Always hunt them out - especially if they have live music in the evening. Thanks for reminding me man. Can’t wait to get back to the Gulf and Andaman Koh’s again! 😎
Just in seconds after vid launched: "At least 10 low-risk countries would be allowed to enter Thailand (with vax) by air with no quarantine requirements" (by Nov 1st, incl UK, US, Germany) And: "By Dec 1, we will also consider allowing the consumption of alcoholic beverages in restaurants as well as the operation of entertainment venues". Also just launched: sidetriplife.creator-spring.com/
As always great vid. Can't wait to get back until that time comes in living through your vids. We definitely need longer vids atleast offer it on a Patreon or something. It feels like a appetizer I'm always left still feeling hungry lmao. Always great video and great info.
Just found your channel as you travel areas well known to me ( mostly ). I must say I am liking your laid back style and not rushing at 90mph from one site to another - doing it the Thai way. Big thumbs up.
For snorkelling and diving, don’t visit during the typhoon season, the water gets churned up with sand and debris, and visibility drops significantly. Choose time wisely
Could watch this for hours... Wonderful... My Dad once said the best thing for road safety would be a row of spikes facing the Driver.... How carefully would you drive with those facing you??? People have to be responsible for their own safety.... If it looks dangerous.... Don`t do it!!!! If I fell over, the only thing I would be worried about is "Did anyone see me??" :-)))
Love your videos. I have always wanted to go to Thailand and enjoy the land of 10,000 smiles. Maybe someday, God willing i can visit and at least spend a winter there. P.S. Don't let anyone tell you they are boring vids. you do a great job.

@@SideTripLife Thank you STL. This happened also thanks to Flora and Note. They did a wonderful video about our cooking class and our lifestyle. Have you seen it already..? From that side many people discovered my channel. :)

Funny to hear your comment on that concrete walkway. I thought the same thing the first time I saw it. I hope Thailand does not let the lawyers ruin the place like they do everywhere else.
Looks great ! Love those little bungalows in Thailand ...they are usually good value . Being a practical type , I'm wondering where the sewerage goes to from these little resorts ...or is it reticulated round the island ? Or is it better not to think about it. 🧐
Like most small tropical islands around the globe, there is no central waste treatment plant on Koh Tao. Dwellings are required and most have septic tanks whereby aerobic bacteria breaks down solid matter and once wastewater leaves the septic tank oxygen-loving bacteria go to work. Aerobic bacteria in the soil then further degrades digested runoff. If this isn't satisfactory the solution is to spend multi millions installing a circulating piped system to all homes and buildings into a central modern treatment plant (and be prepared to pay a lot more for goods/services to cover this;). Keep in mind even 'modern' systems have issues. Example, Google: "Raw sewage dumped into English and Welsh beaches '2,900 times this year'".... Meanwhile, if the beach looks/smells ok as majority do, I just go for a nice swim and don't worry about it ;)
@@SideTripLife ppfff "let out",, not in melbourne still in lockdown, world record for days in lock down, over 250 days, yeah i,m thinking around march, i,ll wait for things to settle down, most countries should be open by then

Thanks. Currently, a jab and/or a test. However, that's all likely about to change. Do you think there will be any nightlife half way in December? I booked a ticket this week and I want to go to Koh tao. But I'm on my own this time I would like to meet other people.
Many restaurants/pubs/cafes are already selling alcohol on Koh Tao (legally again). Also the ferries have increased sailings and last long weekend saw a surge of arrivals. So if things keep progressing as is, along with 1 day quarantine for most Intnl countries from next week, expect to see Koh Tao beaches and beach bars happily humming once again (or at least beginning to). Regardless, you will have no trouble finding places to meet and cheer with others.
I totally agree with you on that! Thailand and the Thai people are AMAZING!!! Plus, the Myanmar people are lovely as well! We learned a few phrases as well. Nice surprise when we visited. 😄 Thailand is such a happy and joyful place to be with stunning views, turquoise beaituful warm water and incredible weather. Growing up on the Canadian Prairies and living in BC a few years myself...one TOTALLY learns to appreciate WARM WEATHER. 😂 I will never take it for granted!! 😅 Viva Thailand!! 🇹🇭 I look forward to the day it goes Vax & quarantine free! I feel it's coming! Then I'm IN!!! 🤗
In the vid I noted current and reg prices for most (example noted reg price of Heaven was 1500 Baht/$45 and Ok 2 bungalows was around 500 baht/$15). No one can say for sure what hotel prices will be like in Thailand in 2022 but before CV19 you could find decent aircon rooms under $30 all over Thailand, or rent a modern condo with pool for 10,000 Baht/$300 month in Bangkok and likely after too. (PS just seen your channel, superb filming & editing D&D :)
Generally, in the daytime hardly ever see them (on the beach, walking thru the village etc). But if trekking thru bush/jungle they love the moist and shaded/leafy areas. Also rainy season brings more mossies, especially around dusk and dawn.
Agreed (mask + wind not helping either;) Have preferred to just keep it simple, no plugging in and charging externals (thus I use a phone with a builtin gimbal). May add a mic but need a Wireless Go 2 & cost is around $300 (!!) Also still have to mess about plugging transmitter unit into the phone (hardly wireless, sigh...) and make sure it's all charged up etc etc... Anyways, can't buy one on the road, so when back in Bangkok may look into it. Thanks
