Ah The Ninja Warriors music. Another tune that takes me back to visiting seafront arcades as a kid back in the 80's. I think the Atari ST and Amiga had pretty good versions also but had a bit of disk swapping. Thanks for the video.

Great video again OSG! Not sure if you tried these games, but Hessian, Double Dragon '89 (which is the Ocean remake), Samurai Warrior - The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo, and a rare game called Robotron (not the arcade game) that was released, in Australia, on a compilation pack called ECP Gold Ribbon Game Pack. Nothing truly amazing, but it was a little bit of fun when I was a kid.

I used to love Fist 2 (and way of the exploding fist) back in the day - was surprised not to see it!
Also that bop n rumble? Game I had it but it was called street hassle!
Never did play the Bruce Lee game but I used to love zorro and they almost seem the same!

I think bop n rumble had 3 different release names. I got Barbarian II with my C64, and played it before the original. I can totally understand why you'd be thrown off by how different the sequel was to the original. As someone who first played the sequel, I felt exactly the same way about the original. I thought "is this all?" Took me a while to appreciate both games.
By the way, I'd love it if some indie studio developed a spiritual successor to Barbarian I, with retro-style graphics (maybe 16 or 32 bit style), tightened up gameplay, the use of multiple buttons, and beefy single player and versus modes. I think there would be a market for an indie sword-and-sorcery fighting game like that.

Funnily enough I was watching "Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey" earlier today. Not just a great martial artist, but a spiritual warrior. The problem with micro computers beat'em up was that developers were rarely able to convey a feeling of really beating the enemy, so the games felt far removed from the arcades originals. TMHT2 rarely gets any praise today but I used to think it was a great conversion. Well, I actually liked a lot Double Dragon 3 and even Last Battle on the C64, but today they are considered crap, probably rightly so. It would be great if somebody converted NES Mighty Final Fight to the C64. It sticks out like a sore thumb that only the Speccy has it.
