I think this performance give justice to Hikaru's ability. Sometime people lured by Keiko's charisma (who doesn't, she own the stage). But i think the one who carried the massage and story is Hikaru, she is an actual stage monster for me
I agree with you... Hikaru embodies the music and atmosphere of songs she performs, totally. 1:16 Look at how she touches the tips of her thumbs at the same time as the cymbal and then stretches out her hands to that incredible back bend (on stairs!)... wow! Her movements blend as one with the music, already bringing you into the mysterious atmosphere of the song. Not to compare, but the others movements are like dancers, Hikaru is like it comes from her core... 5:44 She expresses the lyrics, "there's pride in these hands" with her own hand. She's living the lyrics per time! 6:03 enjoyed the way Hikaru and Keiko's vibratos came close together giving that feeling of a quick ripple of waves. And at the end they blended into the background like they were never there! One of their best productions with lighting and dance being incorporated into the storytelling of a song.
Love this song, the perfomance and everything! *-* The girls have grown so much as perfomers. Feel happy for them. Thanks for the upload and the subs! :)

Yeaa i really like that kind of effect, it gives more nuance, or experience, to the music. That kind of thing is much better than their awkward dance during bridges (of some songs i don't remember) haha
The worst part is that it wasn’t even their fault. HOWEVER, the post-Kalafina benefits are that Keiko stayed with Kajiura (this was actually the reason she “left” Kalafina first), who I think knows best how to promote her voice instead of some random agency. Wakana actually desired a full-on solo career, and Hikaru desired a singer-songwriter path, and they’ve both gone through with their dreams. I was very surprised that Wakana didn’t also return to YK, as I’d be very shocked if she didn’t know that Kajiura *ABSOLUTELY ADORED* her voice. Her post-disbandment works have been . . . okay, but HIKARU (a.k.a. H-el-ical// ) is the one I personally gotta applaud. She just released her 8-track album in Japan and it is HEAVENLY.

Though I personally think only 2 or 3 of her new songs has managed to capture her angelic voice, compared to Kajiura-san who knows how to make the best out of her extremely gorgeous high-pitched voice.

I think they should've just left the dancing part in the hands of professional dancers, the performance would've been really beautiful that way. They're singers so singing should come first
well, this is why they are getting help from a profissional dancer/choreographer. And they don't sing and dance at the same time, i don't see any problem with it, they vocal performance is good as always
hikaru has been doing little dances even before kalafina started to have official choreography and damn i'm so glad they started doing this. there are times when it's a bit awkward but they'll develop with time. and dammit i say hikaru really can dance
I agree, but not for this song. This song's dance (or choreography?) suits the song, at least for me. I even like the opener act when they just swayed with the BGM, it looks mesmerizing with the lighting play. Some of their other dances were just awkward and weird haha (what i can remember now is Usuimurasaki from the same live) But tbh I prefer less choreography like what they did with Red Moon live, or in FJ. I like how they move freely while singing, I can kinda grasp their personality - how cheery and bubbly Keiko was (sometimes she just cutely danced on her own), how expressive Hikaru was (intensely dramatic, i would say), and how elegant Wakana was (and how she did yoga moves haha). Altho I guess it would be boring for those who watch it live, not through DVD, so I understand why they added some dances here and there. Professional dancers won't always make perfomances better. I saw some clip of Kokia's live performances with dancers (the titles are Chouwa Oto and Exec-Cosmoflip, if i remember correctly), and they were amazing. But I also watched some Flipside's live, and they often use back dancers for their anisongs, but honestly for me they were just distracting and unnecessary. But alas, there is no more Kalafina live 😭
