  • Why I moved to Africa || Tanzania
    Here are the reasons to why I moved to Tanzania Africa. Hopefully it gives you guys somewhat of a background story to what motivated me to make the move. I have now been here for almost 5 months and the time has flown by! Can't believe it's been this long and sometimes I found myself hesitating. Making this video really helped me remember what this move was all about.
    Hope you guys enjoy the video!
    Hugs, T

    She says something very important, why should you travel to Greece, Italy and spend money there whereas you could spend it in Africa and help the continent - just remind me few days ago I had to convince my African business partners to try to hire a Kenyan software developer instead of getting someone from Poland. We Africans need to be smart the way we do things to help ourselves, no matter how much successful you are if Africa is still behind, you will be disadvantage one way or other somewhere in the world ! All I am saying is that we need to mobilize our own resources before asking someone else

      PeoplePower HeartOfAfrica Totally agree, we need to change our perception of ourselves and be confident in investing in ourselves in terms of business. Why would anyone else be interested in spending their money on African travel or labor force if we don’t even trust it

      I agree. Africans need understand that you only learn how to succeed when you take risks, make mistakes, and fail.

    That's true. The global community of black people should spend their money on Africa, instead of European countries, some of which are very racist towards black people. There are many incredible vacation hot spots in Africa, including, beautiful beaches, mountains to hike, game parks, etc. For the ones who love city life, there are several beautiful cities all across the continent. So visit, vacation, invest, relocate to the motherland. Africa is the future.

    You made the right choice darling.
    I went back to Nigeria for a year when I finished uni 10 years ago. I myself was raised in the UK and still live here now, but that was one of the best decisions I made in my life and I one day want to move back permanently. Europe has been cool but it's never felt like home to me.

      It’s a shame there’s so much corruption in Nigeria. For a country with such a rich heritage and history the Nigerian people deserve so much better. Corruption is the biggest poison infecting Africa right now.
      One thing I will say is this. I am not African myself but as an Armenian I just want to express how proud I am of you Nigerians. Every day Armenians are leaving the motherland because they would rather run away then stay home and try to make things better and fix our corrupt administration. Nigerians leave Nigeria but I have heard many of you guys either go back eventually or at least collectively donate millions to your motherland to help lift her up. I wish half of us Armenians had the pride and patriotism of you Nigerians.
      God bless you and grant you and your people prosperity. You deserve it.

      @tinasarafinas4962  6 лет назад +1

      Yes! For example, most tourist companies that offer safari trips, kilimanjaro climbing and Zanzibar hotels, restaurants are overwhelmingly westerners.

    Thank you for making this video. I am an African American man who #1 has my B.A. in business administration #2 worked in corporate America for years, ran face first into the "glass ceiling" and got tired of it enough to become self-employed. #3 refuses to spend my money in countries that do not value blacks. #4 have researched all 54 countries on the continent of Africa and wishes to see as many of them with my own eyes as I can; damn western media...always accentuating the negative while minimizing the positive of any black "nouns." #5 Tanzania has an awesome President who is making government officials shape up or ship out. That impresses me. As the leader goes so goes the nation. #6 the dual citizenship issue is challenging because I'll be looked at as obroni...akata...foreigner wherever I go...like you. However, I am not dismayed. The Motherland is the place to be...not just from a spiritual perspective, but an economic one. Africa...specifically sub-saharan Africa is projected to experience substantial growth in the near future. The sheer size of the population...combined with the relative lack of overall development equates to great opportunities for those business savvy enough...those with high levels of intestinal fortitude...to travel to the Motherland with eyes that see the diamond in the rough. I wasn't going to comment...but...you hit home with me...even though you are from Sweden and I'm from a small town in Arkansas. Smh lol. Thank you.

    • @blackholdingsllc
      @blackholdingsllc 6 лет назад +26

      #1) My ancestors fought too hard for me to inherit it. #2) Married with children, cannot risk not being able to enter USA to see them. #3) I'm able to generate lots of money for myself stateside...having the ability to make USD and use that money in Africa...from a business owner perspective is very advantageous. My intent is to maintain my company...my identity...my everything stateside...and use it as my base to expand abroad. I have no illusions about the difficulty i will face trying to penetrate a new country with the perception that I am not a native son. I want to be able to utilitize the inherent benefits my USA citizenship gives me to help better my chances of achieving success in Africa. I want my wife and children to be able to have a second home in Africa, with our own business(es) so that the natives do not feel we are "taking" jobs from them...but see us as "creating" jobs for them. Dual citizenship, for me, simply makes my transition easier. Unfortunately, only Ghana has somewhat been open to granting it for African Americans...(to the best of my knowledge).

    • @tinasarafinas4962
      @tinasarafinas4962  6 лет назад +12

      Wow I’m so glad that you did decide to comment, makes me realize that black people in the diaspora face similar challenges/excitement when it comes to experiencing, learning and working in the African context. Very inspiring to hear that you managed to create your own business and hopefully one day you’ll find an opportunity to extend it to an African country creating jobs if that’s what you wish to do. And yes, the current Tanzanian president is doing some massive clean up in the government and private sector trying to eradicate corruption on all levels and tax evasion. I just hope that his tough tactics does not lead to increased bureaucracy and control which will deter FDI.

    Thank you for making this video. After finishing my undergraduate degree I visited Kenya (where my family is from) for two months and made a promise to myself to go back and live/work there for at least a year as soon as I can. For the next two years I am going to work on saving, gaining work experience, and paying down my student loans so that I can position myself to live in Kenya for at least one year and travel throughout the continent as well. I haven't even entered the work force yet and I'm already tired of the rat race - I just feel so distant from all the things people value in American culture and I would be like to be closer to my extended family. Right now I feel so far away from my goal but seeing stories like you reminds me to stay hopeful and motivated!

    Dual citizenship is very important to retain assets like you, I hope you will be staying for long, for there're millions (literally) of fascinating things here in Tanzania that need dimes like you to be risen to surface, keep up the spirit....slowly Swahili will come (its easier than many think it is)

    You are an inspiring young lady this video I enjoy watching it. It gets really dull out in western world as well. I live most of my life in Canada born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Now I realize what is going to make me happy to establish myself in motherland. We have almost similar idea traveling the hall african from Madagascar to north africa from west to east africa. At the same time supporting tourism africa instead going to any part of the world. I am sick and tired of north america lifestyle. We need to spend time, money and energy into the motherland that way we can support local businesses. I hope I can visit Tanzania one day.

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the subject of moving back to Africa. I am Kenyan American and have always wanted to move back home to Kenya. It is constantly on my mind. Hearing your rationale especially why visit Europe resonates with me 💯. Also I want to visit as many African countries as possible. Hearing other Africans in the diaspora return home gives me the courage to try. I enjoyed the background music too Saida Karole lol

    what an amazing person you're!! and great choice too. feel at home in TZ. You also came in a right time - Afrikan countries have just signed an agreement of a free Trade and mov't of people from one country to another. they are in the process of bec'ming one. That will ease it for your to travel Africa and do Businesses. Hope you find your full happiness in our mother land.
