Eddie Guerrero’s story sounds a lot similar to Brian Pillman’s case. Two wrestlers underestimated by the company and having serious drug problems that resulted in their deaths. Even though Eddie eventually stopped doing drugs I think the damage was already done and that’s what eventually lead to his death. Pretty ironic WrestleLamia would do a Behind The TitanTron story on Eddie right after doing one on Pillman.
I still periodically wear my Eddie shirt. Damn tragedy. Him and Benoit both. And yes I still am a Benoit fan, just cannot watch his matches anymore, injured brain or not.
It's strange how the most talented people in wrestling, music and acting are very emotional self destructive people. The brightest stars burn out the fastest Eddie and Chris were two people who like them or not were very influential in making positive changes in professional wrestling
Undertaker Actually Self Destructed Twice If You Know Undertaker You'd Know That To Chris Benoit's Knowledge That Undertaker Is An Sadistic Cruel Individual Undertaker: I'm Sadistic? Bro Do You Even Know What Sadistic Means Chris Benoit: A Satanic Ritual? Undertaker: Exactly
Eddie would still be alive today if his doctors were able to spot the damage to his heart. He would probably have to retire from wrestling for sure, but at least he would still be alive and spend time with his family.
Unfortunately, Eddie Guerrero died before I got into wrestling in 2010 so I never saw him wrestle on TV but from what I saw on RUclips, he was amazing, especially when he won the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at No Way Out 2004. #RIPEddie #VivaLaRaza
Eddie was the walking personification of redemption!! He battle addiction, alcoholism, inner personal demons and won!! His death hit hard!! RIP LATINOHEAT!!

@ 11:02 "Sudden Death" The picture was from the 04' PPV Armageddon in Atlanta, Ga. I was there that night sitting ramp side. This really brings back memories and breaks my heart, he passed a year later, he was so full of life and had one hell of a 4 way match for the WWE title. I'll never forget that night. R.I.P. Eddie "Latino Heat" Guerrero. #Wrestlelamia - Thank you for all your hard work that put into making this video. I really appreciate all your videos. #EddieGuerrero #LatinoHeat #LieCheatSteal #Mamacita #MexicanWarrior #ThankYouEddie
So proud to say that I was there and in attendance for his last match. As a mega fan of his at the time, this is one of my most treasured memories of all time. I bought his "im your papi" shirt while I was there and wore it until it fell apart basically. That chair shot echoed so loudly and I can still hear it when I think about it. Eddie and Chris's deaths really killed any innocence or joy that I correlated with wrestling. Insane to think that it has been 17 years since Eddie last laced up his boots or made an appearance.
The Early deaths of all the amazing professional wrestlers is truly sad. Eddie was one of the most talented and underrated superstars of his time and possibly the history of professional wrestling. One death that hit me hard was Bam Bam Bigelow just because I always rooted for him. While some saw him as one-dimensional, I felt like he could have been pushed harder and his promos were spot on. For his size and weight, he was incredibly nimble and quick. Lastly, RIP Eddie and Godspeed to his family and friends.
We lie we cheat we steal! And now I cry again for one of the best wrestlers and hard working performers of Wrestling. Great vid man! Can't wait for the next one but take your time and don't rush.
Got to give it to hbk after 8 years off he came in like he had never missed a day and was still the best performer on the card he's truly the best to ever do it

+Wrestlelamia three questions. 1. Why can't Joe fill you in in any of your videos. 2. I don't know if you did a BTT The Invasion. 3. Was ECW failure in 2006/2010 was way worse than WCW 1999/2000/2001.
Just a thought, but maybe change your title. “The life and death of Eddie Guerrero”... most of this video does not center around his “final days”... it’s more a condensed career biography. There are literally about 2 minutes that have anything to do with his last days.
I remember the day i discovered Eddie Guerrero, i was like 11 or 12 and i was playing wwe smackdown vs raw 2006 and one of the stories modes was playing against him and man what a pain to defeat after that i got curious because man the personality they gave him was so cool so i went on the internet and i started to watch all of his fights i was so impressed with him and then i discovered the worst video that destroyed my heart in 5 minutes that filling of being to late man horrible
No doubt this guy was one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. And one of the people I like to meet in Heaven cause of Eddie strong faith he is there.
I didn’t start watching wrestling til 2007 and I remember playing SVR 07 and always played as Eddie and went to watch some old matches that I could find at that time (no streaming services at that time lol) when I found out he had died I was devastated.. had his action figure and everything I remember crying on my own but man Eddie was special and the way he fought his demons as a man he took accountability and rose up to be one of the greats! RIP to Latino Heat 🔥
I met Eddie at the hotel after Wrestlemania 21 and despite being and looking shattered from the ppv he still took the time to take pictures and sign autographs even with Vickie and his children with him. ❤
Eddie was/is my favorite wrestler so thank you for the video. Haven't watched it yet but I know it's going to be great! R.I.P Eddie Guerrero aka Latino Heat.
Awsome job as always. I have been watching wrestling for 40 plus years. You always come up with something I don’t know about a wrestling super star. Keep up the fantastic work.
That song was very emotional. It reminds me of how you must let out all the pain and suffering and find a way to move forward in life even though it's not very easy. Eddie's HOF tribute theme made me very sad and emotional.
He was doing an autograph session. And Eddie overheard me tell my wife i had a headache. In classic Eddie fashion he signed my photo stood up and put his hand on my head and in Spanish said a old comedic spanish prayer. Then he shook my hand. He was a class act. RIP Latino Heat

I am too.chris and Eddie we're my 2 favorite wrestlers
The editing is perfect the narration, graphics, commentary! Love this.

Can you do a behind the Titantron on the final days of Chris Candido
That'd be great
That would be awesome
I think that should be next for Behind the Titantron
Chris Benitez
Tim Bartsch yes that would be awesome
Behind the in-ring moves and Championships it's a lonely, ugly business.
Eddie would still be alive today if his doctors were able to spot the damage to his heart. He would probably have to retire from wrestling for sure, but at least he would still be alive and spend time with his family.
A man that inspired so many....a true legend!!
Why haven't I come across this channel before?
Absolute quality!!!
Watch Rey vs Eddie at Halloween Havoc. IMO one of his best matches in WCW
SincereReview that shit was top notch
Right On Brother. !! !! !!
if eddie was alive, benoit would be alive as well. Rip best memories of my young life..Great job wrestlelamia.
You can't say that
Ehhh IDK about that.
Chris benoit had an enlarged heart he was gonna die in a year anyway.
So true
Sadly it seems both Eddie and Chris were doomed regardless.
Eddie was the walking personification of redemption!! He battle addiction, alcoholism, inner personal demons and won!! His death hit hard!! RIP LATINOHEAT!!
absolutely loved Eddie, just made me love wrestling. and his humor was infectious. his last match was with Mister Kennedy. and it was typical eddie!
I'm from El Paso, TX so it's an honor being part of Eddie's hometown
Dude me too, I remember the matches from Juarez with konnan and Ari romero
@@se03kazana Same here, Eddie was definitely my child hood hero. Viva la raza.
Listening to this i feel just as WCW did not care about it's talent back then. That's exactly what WWE is doing today.
It is heartbreaking that once you turn your life around you are still at risk to lose it. R.I.P .Eddie :(
i really believe that if Eddie Guerrero was still alive none of what happen with Chris benoit would not happen and he would still be alive..Eddie was the only person that could get thru to Benoit.
@SPACE MONKEY1102 obvious somebody don't know the importance of having a friend
If u did all those headbutts during your life you wouldn't b the same either Eddie was the only one who Benoit trusted
@@geminikid609 yea cause having a friend will totally make your already concussed damaged aging brain to go away you heard it here first guys all you need is a friend and all your problems will go away, are you really that ignorant?

@@kenthegamer Yeah, his autopsy showed he would probably only live another 12 or so months before having a heart attack/faliure

R.I.P. I only wish this video was longer. I could watch these Behind the Titantron videos all day and never get bored
Beautifully put together wrestlelamia. Well done.
After this the final days of Chris Benoit
Luis Ponce he already did that one
@@jonathancoleman7148 it's the death of the Benoit family that your talking about
Not sure he wants to do that. WWE could see that and cause an internet scene
@@thebestcentaur Naw they have no say in anything like that. He's not stepping on anyone's toes
YESSSS DO IT!
I was 12 when Eddie died and that year I wore my "I am your papi" tshirt that whole year ...he was an amazing entertainer
I get tiny bit emotional when I see old clips of Eddie & when he cracks that smile ain’t going to lie
RIP Eddie 😞
Latino Heat is in heaven now. Thank you for the memories.
Eddie was always one of my favorite Wrestlers..
RIP CHAMP🇲🇽🇺🇸
You are truly missed Eddie

We lie we cheat we steal! And now I cry again for one of the best wrestlers and hard working performers of Wrestling. Great vid man! Can't wait for the next one but take your time and don't rush.
Crown Jewel is a behind the titantron episode waiting to happen.
Got to give it to hbk after 8 years off he came in like he had never missed a day and was still the best performer on the card he's truly the best to ever do it
@@jordanwillett8456 Crown Jewel was crap because of many reasons.
@INM
Exactly there will never be another HBK the man knew the buissnes and went out every night to tear down the house for the fans it didn't matter if he was wrestling a dark match or the main event he did every thing he could to give you a show you would remember
I saw this as it happened (like so many others) and it just brought tears to my eyes as I watched it. The sadness on his face was so real
So it wasn't really his final days but a quick recap of his career. Got it.

Eddie's in my top 5. He was great in the ring, on the mic...he could do it all.

I remember tearing up & I remember watching the tribute episode and bawling right alongside Chris Benoit 😢❤ he was a force to be reckoned with and he is missed ❤ I’m so thankful for Rey for keeping his name alive
Some ideas for future episodes...
1. The Fall of the AWA
2. The True Story of WWE King of the Ring
3. Jesse Ventura's Fallout with WWE (has enough to cover from Ventura's attempts to form a labor union for wrestlers to Ventura suing WWE for owing him royalties from his commentary work)
4. Teddy Hart's Messy Career
5. Haku: Scariest Man in Professional Wrestling (covering his infamous rep for getting caught up in enough physical altercations)
This is one of the best BTT's ever. Thank you for this 🙏🏾💯.
+Wrestlelamia three questions.
1. Why can't Joe fill you in in any of your videos.
2. I don't know if you did a BTT The Invasion.

I remember when Eddie died, I actually cried. Never have cried for a celebrity but his hit me hard. RIP Eddie.
Thank you so much wrestlelamia I love your behind the Titiantron series I have been following the series since the first episode keep on rocking
i was given the opportunity to see Eddie Guerrero fight in pittsburgh before he passed back in the day. same with chris benoit. #LatinoHeat
Still miss him. :( Great video.
He was too young rip I've always liked him as a wrestler
I didn’t start watching wrestling til 2007 and I remember playing SVR 07 and always played as Eddie and went to watch some old matches that I could find at that time (no streaming services at that time lol) when I found out he had died I was devastated.. had his action figure and everything I remember crying on my own but man Eddie was special and the way he fought his demons as a man he took accountability and rose up to be one of the greats! RIP to Latino Heat 🔥
I got to watch this before going to jail , finally. Thank you
These videos are a great inside look into the dark side of Wrestling. Thank you for all you put into these 😊
I met Eddie at the hotel after Wrestlemania 21 and despite being and looking shattered from the ppv he still took the time to take pictures and sign autographs even with Vickie and his children with him. ❤
