Walz is my governor and he's accomplished so much, including making sure all school children have free lunch and breakfast! He's a strong supporter of reproductive rights. Walz is also a great communicator and calls it like it is. In his latest interview on Fox, he immediately triggered Trump. He would be a great VP!

After pros and cons, i still want her to pick Walz. My other favorite is Buttigieg, if he's still being considered. I think his appeal to conservatives transcends the fact that he's gay. He received a standing ovation at a Fox news town hall, that's saying a lot.

You're not kidding. All of these potential picks are great, each in their own way. The one who would be certain to make Trump's last marble melt is Mark Kelly. A white, masculine, no nonsense former Navy pilot and astronaut(!) who is 20 years younger than him!? No amount of makeup, hairspray, Spandex and shoe lifts can make Trump look strong and vital compared with that! And he would be a big hit in every community that has had a mass shooting or experienced gun violence.
We need that Senate seat.

As someone who lives in Arizona, I really hope people leave Kelly alone. AZ is truly purple. We can’t afford for him to be removed at this time.

I totally agree! The people that are already in position in the states as governors or senators I think they need to stay with their position. We need more people out in the field as well and we need to make sure our Senate race adds people, not to take them away from their current position.

I don't disagree. But a lot of Pennsylvanians feel similarly about losing Shapiro as Governor. And Kentuckians about losing Bashear. That's starting to eliminate a lot of the better options.

I am not between ages of 18 and 34. I am in my 60's. I am not gay, and my choice is Buttigieg. Those of you who don't know Buttigieg, should go check him out. He is smart, funny, a family man, he has 2 children, and has great answers to Trump and his supporters.
Totally agree very calm ,well informed does his homework by the way I am 80 and not gay. He does a fantastic take down.

The VP has to be the person who "delivers" the Electoral College ("EC") - full stop. The EC is the ONLY thing that matters. Both the 2016 & 2020 EC votes were EXTREMELY CLOSE. Folks, we are talking about ~21,500 votes flipping changes the EC winner.
Example: In 2020 election it was very close [EC wise]. If ~21,500 votes had flipped in three States (AZ WI GA), the end result would have been a 269-269 tie in the EC. Which would have sent election to House where Repugs controlled 26 State Delegations! It was very, very, very, close. For 2024, losing the EC is losing democracy in the USA.
And a veteran, unlike the orange draft dodger.
Watching from Australia - I hadn't heard about golf cart rallies so I googled and watched a few vids of happy, energised, kind people, feeling brave again. Taking back the American flag. Go Kamala Harris and whoever her VP pick is 🙌👏

Way back when he was in the gubernatorial primaries, a very progressive left friend of mine from college wasn’t happy with him because in her words he was “too conservative”. For me, that was the endorsement I needed, because my net political views lean towards the conservative but I am not a straight Republican voter.
I do get the impression that he genuinely cares about *all* of Minnesota and not just the 5 county metro area.

The problem is that everyone is just expressing who they like (mostly because they know them, as 10% or less of Brian's viewers would know all THREE fairly equally and well).
In what really matters though (winning the election, otherwise WHO ran as POTUS OR VP will be irrelevant), winning PAs 19 electoral votes is nearly TWICE as important a MNs 10 votes.
And "only" 60 years old means 68 after two terms as VP, and the return of "too old" if he's to run for POTUS. Shapiro is 51, so only 59 in 8 years; younger THEN that Walz is TODAY. 74% of Americans polled want their POTUS to be in their 50s or 60s.
He's really good at messaging too. Trump was pissed when he was on Fox earlier today.

@@jamesd5118 Except for the fact that Roy Cooper removes some of the age argument. I know 67 isn't exactly the 78 of Trump, but it's still retirement age. I think she needs to aim young to capitalize on the idea of a generational change.

Excellent communicators with 7 fluent languages would be an outstanding pick for Secretary of State. Besides he'll be everyone's pick in 2032 for POTUS.

Tim 'Balls to the Walz'. He served in the MN National Guard for 24 years, geography teacher, was union member, pro labor. With a single seat majority, got free school lunches for all MN kids among other 'progressive' agenda. His college-aged daughter keeps him grounded and he appeals to younger voters and families with children. Very PRO-CHOICE. Midwest "Mind your own damn business" when it comes to individual rights and keeping politicians out of the doctor/patient exam room.
I like him, but he comes across a bit old. I’m not sure how that would work out right now.
He has the unique ability to PERSUADE, in a clear, clever and witty way. Plus he'd appeal to white, male baby boomers. We're going to need them.

Kelly was actually born a month before Walz, and they were both born in the same year as Kamala Harris, but many people might rely on what they see rather than a simple fact check. I do, however, think Walz sounds strong when you hear him speaking.

I am on board 100% and excited with the thought of Kamala Harris as President! She is extremely likable and so accomplished. I loved to watch her while she was Senator Harris. She was straightforward, never mincing words.
I choose Tim Walz. He’s experienced, informed, knowledgeable BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, he’s so likable and seems approachable, not so threatening.

I’m in Michigan /swing state there are people who I know would vote for this guy with Kamala instead of throwing away their vote for Kennedy which is there plan now Kamala can’t be everywhere with her energy , he’s got grass roots, military, government experience The others are smart lawyers like Kamala but aren’t bring the energy. Walk is the real small town person who relates to folks unlike JD Vance. He can speak to rural Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin and he already has a relationship in those states too. Only had to hear him once and remembered what he said and how he made me feel when he said. I can’t remember what the other talking suits said and felt nothing. I immediately started telling my friends about Tim Walz though. He seems humble and respects Kamala as well.

Brian's analysis and assessment of Arizona and the 2 Senate races (temp and permanent) is seriously flawed - you're assuming a presidency of a 'normal' or 'normalish' President. If Trump wins, it won't matter if the elected Senators of Arizona are the most ideal Democrats in the Universe - we have to focus on winning the Presidency NOW, not about a Senate vote later. Mark Kelly not only was an Astronaut that flew a Space Shuttle, is a Senator of a battle ground state bordering Mexico, both his parents were Police Officers (Democrats are accused of being soft on Crime so that should bring some confidence to the ticket), and he was a fighter plane Pilot in the Gulf War - these things should help men from hypermasculine families to vote for Democrats saving Democracy and perhaps persuade some of their peers to do the same.

Personally, I like him better to do that job than those three. Still my favorites are Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse or of coarse Rep. Jamie Raskin.
Pete is an amazing politician and a major asset to our party, I think that a Kamala/Pete ticket may be too progressive for the country for this election - Pete is great though!
I want him as VP too but I don't think he'll be picked. I do think he will get a huge promotion like Secretary of State. He will still be a massive asset going into the election. He has no fear going on Fox and every time he does he kicks ass.

Tim Walz. Do not overestimate the influence of 'moderates'. More importantly, who appeals to young voters and women? Walz is the most effective and progressive. He connects very well with younger voters due to his long history as a social studies teacher of young voters and he served for 24 years in the Army National Guard. Andy Beshear is vey effective in Kentucky where his father was also Governor. He is a srong candidate in Kentucky, but that may not generalize to a national general election.

Can or would he be able to make a call that would hurt some to save many if needed. I really like Pete Buttigieg but being a kind hearted person with integrity could make it difficult for him to make certain tough calls that simply have to be made on the current world stage.
