Break in oil for those small engines for me 1-2 hours 50% duty cycle under load…..change. Then change at 10 hours…..I usually run our generator a lot because we bush camp so. It probably gets 40-50 hours between changes then.

Not a bad idea but I might suspect that oil change should be frequently done, especially when these engines have small oil sump. My generator take about 600 ml of engine oil, and with the lack of oil filter, I just change the oil at 15 hours which is acceptable.
However I buy oils in jugs as I will be set for a long time
