MisaTango by Argentine composer Martín Palmeri is a daring mix of sacred music (sometimes reminiscent of baroque polyphony) and tango! All the ordinary of the Mass is sung, but with a syncopa ted and energetic dance groove. Featuring the bandoneon􏰄the emblematic instrument of tango􏰄the symbiosis between sacred music and Latin American tones and the unconventional combination of 􏰅Tango􏰆 rhythms and classicism creates unique music full of passion and intense emotions. 2021 also marks the centenary of the birth of Astor Piazzolla􏰄the famous Argentine tango composer, bandoneon player, and arranger􏰄whose works revolutionized the traditional tango. As a tribute to the composer, we will also showcase his tango music performed by Trio de la Sombra as well as a unique composition and commissioned arrangement for choir and orchestra of Oblivion by Vincenzo De Filippo.
