La Sportiva Ultra Raptor Mid GTX Boots massive goretex lining failed on trek.

- just returned from cutting short my trip on the West Highland Way as my feet weren't in good condition as I had a massive fail with these boots letting in water.
If you apply silicone tent sealant along the gore tex seam where the water leaks in it will in theory stop the leak. This is unfortunately a common failure point with all gore tex boots .
Im about to buy these for bikepacking... well see how they go
I am also considering those boots for bikepacking. What is your feedback ?

Yes Goretex actually contacted me first after seeing this video and were really sympathetic about it, but the shop purchased the boots from asked me to send the boots back which I did. I promptly received a refund as they were confirmed faulty.
@@gavinscottmyadventure So you personally opted for a refund rather than a replacement? Was it just a one off fault from La Sportiva Raptors or there have been some issues in the past from other copies? I have been looking at the Raptors for few days and it is nice to know that Gore-Tex has our backs but I wonder La Sportiva's customer care works.. did you try to contact them as well? What was their response?

I went up a half size in these boots compared to my normal size.
