    I love Act 2, probably my favorite section of the game. I really wish there was some kind of multiplayer option so two players could use their decks and fight and it out.
    There is one thing about this Act that maybe isn’t as strong as Act 1 tho: Act 1 is the “rogue-like” part of the game, so the penalty for losing is pretty severe, to enforce a methodical gameplay loop about balancing decisions.
    In Act 2, the deck builder section, the gameplay loop is about collecting cards to construct an efficient deck over time, and the ability exists for the player to completely alter their deck and core strategy whenever they want. But there’s not really a penalty for losing a fight. Maybe normal grunt battles shouldn’t have a penalty, but the boss battles should. I can think of 2: 1 that’s serious and 1 that’s more of a joke. Option 1: If you lose a Boss fight, you also lose all of your foils. Option 2: If you lose a Boss fight, the Boss gives you a chump card of their type (Grimora, for instance, would give the player a Skeleton every time they lose to her).

      I personally liked starting with the beast deck. It synergises with the other decks really well, and since you're already used to it, you are probably gonna be better with it than the rest of the decks. Also, it's a softer introduction to the other decks, as the other mechanics slowly trickle in through packs instead of being your whole world immediately.

    • @Coulroperation
      @Coulroperation 3 года назад +2

      @@zomburger2573 Yeah the bosses were fun, and I honestly really like the setting as well as P03, but the lack of a real sense of stakes was so lame after the roguelike elements of Act1, and navigating the overworld wasn't fun or engaging.
      I'll probably like it more on a replay, but after beating act 1 and 2 it just felt lackluster in comparison, and I was quite disappointed that your choice of Scrybe in act 2 didn't matter. I know Daniel Mullins loves his meta shtick but it sometimes feels like it compromises fun to me.

    • @smievil
      @smievil 3 года назад +1

      act 3 movement was really clunky compared to first act, and i misunderstood how the cards worked, i thought you had to spam "squirrels" like in the first act.
      would be fun if there was some sort of endless rougelike mode.
      i don't think i'd enjoy his older games much, they look so random, though story is a bit interesting, think i prefer a more narrow genre.

    • @Coulroperation
      @Coulroperation 3 года назад

      @@smievil Pony Island is almost worth it for one very specific moment, but that game is always mindless fun, either side scrolling shoot em up or puzzle solving, his meta angle feels at home in that game.
      The Hex is a bit of a mess, advertises itself as a mystery but gets lost parodying too many different genres and gaming communities (like modders, competitive scenes, indie devs, etc).
      You can play act 1 endless if you just never get the film from the clock, every iteration also adds more mechanics so it's quite fun, but definitely lacking in overall content compared to other rogue likes. I would really like a proper endless mode too, hope something like that gets added in the future.

    • @blaziaxboi157
      @blaziaxboi157 3 года назад +1

      tech is actually pretty easy, its a late game deck, once you have few 49ers, l33pbots and automatons, you can hold out till the 6th or 7th round when you can almost instantly win the game with powerful cards. i do admit it is pretty weak at the start because you can get rare tech cards till you beat grimora or leshy, but with how many beast and death cards you cards get from their areas theyre pretty easy to beat.
