Oldies On The River set for Sept 16, 2023

Bristol Borough is hosting its 18th annual Oldies on the River Concert, Saturday, September 16th, at the Mill Street Parking Lot, featuring tribute artist Bobby Wilson, son of Jackie Wilson, considered one of the most dynamic singers and performers in soul, R&B and rock and roll history. The concert begins at 5 pm and a rain date, if required, is scheduled for Sunday, September 17th at 4 pm.
Free transportation and parking will be available for all concertgoers at the Lenox Building parking lot located on the 1400 block of Radcliffe Street. Courtesy shuttle bus service will begin at 3 pm and run consecutively throughout the afternoon and evening until 11 pm.
Hosted by Bristol Borough Council, DJ Greg Whit will emcee the concert. Families and friends are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to Bristol Borough’s waterfront venue for this F R E E concert.
Bobby Wilson will follow The Vogues (Turn Around Look at Me, Till, and My Special Angel), Charlie Thomas’ Drifters with Jeff Hall (This Magic Moment, Under the Boardwalk, and Save the Last Dance for Me), The Chiclettes (will deliver their high energy tribute to female artists such as The Supremes, Chaka Khan, and Aretha Franklin), Dennis Tufano original lead singer with The Buckinghams (King of A Drag, Don’t You Care, and Mercy Mercy Mercy) and Vinnie Medungo perennial host of WABC Radio and PBS programming celebrating oldies music.
In addition to a variety of food trucks serving pizza, burgers, and cheesesteaks, concertgoers have several restaurant options serving American, Italian, Indian, Mexican, bar fare, and seafood, all within walking distance of the concert venue. From casual to fine cuisine, a variety of outstanding culinary choices are available within walking distance of the concert venue.
Everyone attending this free event plays an important role in ensuring that it remains alcohol-free for the enjoyment of everyone attending.
This annual concert began as a small-town event to become Bucks County’s largest single-day event.
