    I don't think it is possible to produce such uniform color from that very contaminated recycled plastic. As it comes out of the grinder you can see it is full of contaminents of various colors. Plus wire insulation is PVC, not PE. I think we are being fooled with this video. The recycled plastic is going to be used for making garden furniture, plastic pallets, whatever. The plastic they used for making the wire insulation must be a different batch, probably PVC, it might be recycled PVC but not in a way what is shown in this video.

      @@mrnmrn1 PE insulated wires exist here in Europe, too. It really just depends on the application. (For example, a lot of telephone wire uses PE conductor insulation and PVC jacket.) Not that the question really matters, since I doubt the wire manufacturing shown is actually using PE.

      Sadly, life over there is nothing like what we have here. Someone gets hurt or killed on the job? Oh well, if you can't work they'll just hire a replacement. You're SOL, no workman's comp, nothing. Get lung cancer? Ha! Sucks to be you. Your device they built breaks on the first use? Too bad for you. Your home burns to the ground because the electrical failed? Bummer. A/C? Only in your dreams. Rest rooms are just a hole in the ground. Live next to a business that has noxious and toxic chemicals or fumes blowing into your home? Too bad for you. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what life with no regulations looks like.

    High Density Poly Ethelene (HDPE) has a melting point around 450 degrees F, and does not off-gas toxic compounds at that temperature. This isn't some zero sum game where they are using up all the carbon credits and protections first world nations create, or an excuse to forego your own environmental responsibilities. Compared to the process of making new plastic, this is stunningly efficient.

    I don't understand why they have to melt the polythene with a blowtorch, burning some of it to introduce oxide impurities, then chop up the blocks to produce the nurdles (which will then be melted to become wire insulation). Why not then just shred the original bags and sacks, and use those shreddings as nurdles?
    I would think that twisting copper threads together (before insulating) would increase cable conductivity and strength.

    So the plastic starts out as small fibers that could be chopped up and fed directly to the hopper.... instead they burn them into a blob that must be broken up before being shredded back into small fibers. 😂😂😂

    • @addanametocontinue
      @addanametocontinue 3 месяца назад +7

      Don't quit your dayjob, Einstein. They are melting the plastic fibers into plastic blocks, from which they can produce plastic pellets. What do you think will happen if they try to feed those bags directly into the hopper? It'll probably just jam up the machine; definitely not getting plastic pellets, that's for sure.

    • @thenextstepp
      @thenextstepp 3 месяца назад +1

      Did I say that they should toss the bags into THAT machine? And I didn't see any pellets being produced whatsoever. The machine looked to me to be pulverized the chunks more than anything (probably because they haven't bothered to sharpen the blades since it was built). Now if the bags were simply CHOPPED UP with another machine or since they obviously have plenty of low skilled labor by hand, then they could be fed directly into the hopper. Actually since they don't seem to be picky about what goes into the cauldron they could add the bags directly into the molding machine with a simple modification.
      There are only a few reasons you'd want to produce actual pellets in the first place such as being easier to transport or to simply the addition of other ingredients, neither of which is happening here.

    • @mrnmrn1
      @mrnmrn1 3 месяца назад +9

      I'm no plastic expert, but they are probably converting LDPE to HDPE by melting it. Although since it's literally burning which converts some of it to conductive soot, and it's contaminated with dirt, the insulation on these wires is probably not the most reliable in terms of uniformity of dielectric strength.

    • @HiThisIsMine
      @HiThisIsMine 3 месяца назад +2

      @@thenextstepp- The who reason plastic bags are being outlawed in many states is because it’s difficult to recycle. If they could just mod the feeder for the extruder, they would have.

    • @thenextstepp
      @thenextstepp 3 месяца назад +1

      That's simply not true. It's been done all over the world and there's even videos of it here on RUclips. Plastic bags aren't being outlawed because they're difficult to recycle, they're being outlawed because people can't really be incentivized to recycle plastic the way they are with aluminum.

    В этих мешках наверняка грязь от содержимого. К тому же от пламени наверняка образуется сажа и окислы, которые так же попадают в массу. Да и производители мешков вряд ли задумывались о их диэлектрических свойства. Короче, этот пластик явно не для проводки, с кучей мусорных включений. Эластичность тоже низкая, иначе бы он не разбивался кувалдой. Я бы не хотел у себя дома такие провода.

    Should make a video of the giant cargo containers that get dumped there full of all that crap from around the world.
    Educate the people they don't know it's mostly their trash that ends up there because they have to many restrictions on doing this kind of work and would never be able to find workers who would do this every day just read the comments men have become women in the developed world.

    This is just sad . Yeah obviously these people have to survive ie; food , water , electric, kids needs, medicine , but the ones that have them in “ slavery “ are there own damn people who own these “recycling” centers! This has got to be the most primitive way to do this!

    No healthy work for thouse young guys. Lots of toxic fumes. I used to live some months in India & Pakistan in the early 80s. There was a lot of waste everywhere but no plastic. Hard to imagine how it looks in 2024.
