These houses are not going to burn, aren't going to sink the planet under a burden of toxic materials, or kill the occupants with outgassing plastics, or make some stockbrokers rich. Good.
Rammed earth homes have lasted 1000's of years but some shown are compressed hay (for insulation) covered with stucco. Problem is getting permits to build them as they don't really promote profits for the building industry nor banks.
Would have been nice if they provided links for each home. The earth covered home with branches inside 1:02 & 1:07 & 1:28 etc was built by Simon Dale and his wife Jasmine Saville in four months for £3,000 (can find in google).
Not all of these structures are cob. Some are adobe, and a few are earthbag homes, as well as one that you showed which was a hybrid of cob and straw bales.
i would love to build me a house like the simon dale one, simple and efficient. problem is, you need tools for that. lots and lots of tools, and they're expencive.

why not design your own? im currently designing my one which will be a hexagonal shape with a stone central chimney column its still gonna look pretty conventional from the outside
Have a question about Cob. Love what you have done, and I see the benefits of Cob. I have the opportunity to buy some land and it has a wood cabin on it already. It should be possible to encase the outside in cob and turn the roof into a living roof. Any suggestions on my idea?
