    That price is not all Trail. That pretty flooring, the vent fan, the upfitter switches are all non Trail package add ons. The seats being leather and electric was also not part of the 12K Trail Package price tag. Well at least not in 2023. The price also does not include AWD or the Engine upgrade. We got ours in early February. Waited 6 months. WE got the Extra long and Extra high unit. Added dual alternators, 360 Camera and I think its a 33 gallon fuel tank. Came in at $74000. We are very happy with it. Like you mentioned, great drive train.

    Just before covid I was able to get a 148" mid roof with heated leather seats and few options for $30,500. Full sticker was $38k with options and delivery. Today the same van costs $52k and there is a very long wait. They know if they build less than the demand, they can dictate prices.

    The new Trail package for the Transit really interests me. To get tires, wheels, suspension, body lift, flares and a cool grill all from the factory makes so much of the do it yourself van build so much easier. Also the 3.5 liter eco boost with a ten speed means you can tow something as well

    I’ve had a similar mid- length mid-height Transit w/Quigley conversion for 7 years and I am ecstatic about it still. It’s body is a boron/steel alloy of some kind will never rust and tough as nails, unlike Sprinters which are dripping rust everywhere I see them.

    • @YT-MY

      I've seen dealer transits with rust spots above windshield on large curved sheet metal. Surprised the dealship let rust go.

      @keweenawbee Год назад +1

      When I was drilling holes in the cargo area and floor to mount things I went through a lot of bits and I have seen no rust on the body in 7 years. As usual though having caliper problems on every Ford I ever bought 😂. Just got a F150 reg cab short box with aluminum body and I’ve heard the horror stories about the denting of the cargo box so I have two layers of different absorbent protection layers on that.

      Where can you FIND one.. Every time I search online all that comes up is 2023. The Ford website only has "transit" there is no "Transit Trail" at least it won't pop anything up for me. it just tells me my zipcode is invalid.. then shows me regular transits after I click on trails

    I love this ❤ vehicle maybe our next one in a few years at a used price. I purchased a 2013 Transit Connect XTL for $2500 with 200k miles to turn into a travel van . Of course everyone thinks l am crazy for rebuilding it to my liking with a $20k budget. It needed a transmission/other work). We have other daily vehicles and it will only be used for travel. I am enjoying the process.

    So some stuff you didn't cover is the purpose of this van is that is setup to do a seamless transfer with registered upfitters (companies that do aftermarket conversions) for a van life conversion (why is comes with a vent already installed) or already set for a person to do their own van covversion since most are nervous to cut into the roof themselves (also some extras with electrical and so on). It also has a nice lift on it for the same reason. It is not marketed to companies for cargo movement.

    Extensive review Ben. It is sad GM does not have a competitive van that competes with this Ford Transit, Ram and Mercedes Benz Sprinter. I know they have GMC Savana and Chevrolet Express that own their portion of this segment, but the do not have vans like this with the Euro design. They had them when they owned Vauxhall and Opel, but they do not have that anymore. I thought Ford stopped importing the Transit Connect. I know Nissan was in this segment too as well. I know Hyundai competes in this segment, but they do not sell it here in the United States. Thank you Ben.

    • @mdwood87
      @mdwood87 Год назад

      I agree, the body lift doesn't do anything to help with off-roading. It seems that it only affords a bit of extra room for the larger off-road wheels which, again, without an actual suspension lift won't do much more than help a bit with traction, but you're not going to be able to go over any truly rugged terrain.

    An absolutely ridiculous MSRP. The van looks awesome, but not a chance. I have a 2020 350 HD long body high roof with the same up fitter kit and options, short of the chassis updates now. I've seen massive MSRP jumps in Transits and Promasters year over year since I bought mine and with the new UAW's massive wage increase now in play that will be translated to MSRP, I am left to wonder how this price insanity can continue or how long the auto makers can survive buyer's exiting the new vehicle market...Thanks for the great review,..,.

      So like I said, here in Chicago@@PKDesigns2011 they have 3.5 liter v6;s, but if you go to the suburbs, they got v10s or v8s

    The raptor has those three lights because it’s width is over a certain length
    Is this van extra wide as well?

      It is. 3" wider. I have got one sitting at a dealership WAY up north that is waiting for a rear camera recalled to be addressed. It was bought 2 months ago. Still no van...

    gasoline power is such a rip off. imagine if we were 100 years into designing the best diesel motors for our vehicles. guarantee one million miles would be standard and this van would be getting at least 50mpg. but that would be a tremendous loss of profit.
