What barcode scanner do you use sir?
@@jayhollingsbee8503 most of the time I’m using the barcode scanner in the eBay app. I also use the Amazon barcode scanner. Google image is another great app to use. You can take a photo and it will search the internet for picture of that item. I recommend using them when you are out sourcing.

i had two in box famicom systems in my pile and the seller took it out and handed it to another person. they guilted me into giving it to the other buyer. awkward situation though I had reserved a big pile of stuff worth $1000 for $60 when I wasnt supposed to reserve.
This video outlines perfectly how not to act when going to a yard sale.
Also acting like someone was trying to scoop all the toys that weren’t even brought out yet… lady was trying to find a gift for somebody… giving resellers a bad name… seen many resellers handle this much better.. like.. “if there’s something that interests you point it out and it’s yours”. Instead use them as your thumbnail and clickbait.
I was the first one at the sale and they had two toys on the table. She told me she had more to bring out but asked me to wait. At that time I explained i was interested in buying them all. I waited 20 mins for the items to be brought out. They should up later and let them know I was waiting for her to bring me out the items. The seller told me she had to put them out in the table before she could give me a price for them all because she didn’t know what was in the box. It was her brothers collection. I respectfully waited. I already informed her that I was making an offer on the items. She continued to pick up items. When she told me she was looking for a gift and asked about the Barbie I gave it to her. She decided later she didn’t want to pay the price the seller was asking fir and brought it back. I’m sorry that you feel that was not handle correctly, I tried my best in the situation provided.
@@pickingandpunching it’s just how it comes across in your video.. I watch a lot of different resellers (this is the first video I’ve seen of yours) and I understand your agreement with the seller to make a collective deal, but you still put up an argument with the Barbie “I haven’t got to that yet” to see if you’re interested, instead of saying it’s all yours. 🤷♂️ I think the resellers who are also content creators that are super successful (like Froggy Flips, Commonwealth Picker, Hairy Tornado) have a common theme of going above and beyond to be genuinely kind to not only the people they’re buying from but also the others patrons purchasing. I never seen them haggling quite like this when there is so much meat left on the bone. To each their own though.. I’m just one viewer with an opinion.
@@teligaming1991 looking back and watching the video, I could of handled it differently. There is always room for improvement. Sometimes it’s different when you are in the heat of the moment and other things are happening as well. I understand things can come across differently. I honest wasn’t sure how much some of that stuff was going to go for. Part of the reason also was that 90% of the corpse bride and nightmares before Christmas figures were opened and put back in the package. I wouldn’t of negotiated the deal if they were all brand new which they do look like at first glance. I appreciate your feedback. We all have room to grew. She knew I was a reseller and earlier she even asked me to look stuff up for her. Normally I wouldn’t do it in front of people.
I used to not look things up but sometimes the sellers dont know what your doing. One guy asked me if I was looking up the value to resell. I said its so I know what to offer. we both nodded in agreement and he walked off.

Full time resellers are the worst leeches in the world.
Resellers make it difficult as a collector to find good prices on video games and toys.
This is true to a point. I’m a collector first and foremost. I collect vintage 80’s toys (WWF, Ghostbusters, and TMNT). I also collect NES, SNES, PS1, and Dreamcast. A lot of collectors have turned into resellers to help fund their collections.
Resellers are the ones who dig through dusty bins oftentimes, or dig through inventory at thrift stores, research the item, get said item in resellable condition, list it, then wait for the right buyer. I'm a reseller myself and I have ZERO qualms with what I do. Most resellers aren't ripping people off they are simply trying to make ends meet like everyone else. If collectors want the most amazing prices on video games and toys they can be the ones doing all that work. 100%.
@@robindaffern2941 except a lot of collectors do that when they can but they have other jobs trying to make ends meet and don’t have time to go to 20 garage sales on a Saturday like resellers. I stand by what I said. I never said they want to rip people off. Resellers just make it more difficult to collect on the cheap.

She said that the figures were her brothers who passed away. She wanted to put them on the table to go through them. She told me to make a pile there. Which ended up complicating things more than it should have.

Actually we already had an agreement that I was buying them all. She wanted to lay them out to see what she had in the tote. Her brother passed and there were a couple she wanted to look at.

Thats just how some people sell. its a yard sale not that organized. Some people wing it. Who knows she might be sad her brother died and is tired or depressed. ive been to sales where the seller hasnt even woken uo yet and no one wanted to ring the doorbell do I did. Seller opens his garage and everyone runs in to grab everything. I took 2 pop figures one worth $400 and another worth $90. I got it for $5 each and the seller says the ones up there are rare and not for sale. I had already paid and realized I paid $10 for the rare ones by accident and the seller didnt even realize it. So ya things get mixed up because garage sellers arent the brightest.

She knows some of those toys are valuable that's why she doesn't want to let go of them cheap. Also she knows you are going to resale them and make a big profit.
The backstory is that this is her brothers collection. Her brother passed away and she got all of his stuff. She told me that she knew certain figures were money. She wanted to put them all out on a table because she didn’t know everything that was in there. She knew I was a reseller. That’s why she was willing to sell me a bundle deal. We still got a good deal.

The owner's brother passed away. She wanted to pull everything out and put it on the table to go through it before she sold it. It just put everybody in an awkward position.
I hate when people show up early when I'm trying to set up a sale.
When I do show up early I always ask permission and try to be respectful. I have no problem waiting for them to finish setting up.
If i ever had a garage sell if i see people pulling out their phones id check their prices and meet them halfway 😂😂🤣🤣

In this situation she knew I was a reseller and told me to look some of the figures up because they were expensive.
If someone wants to show up at my yard sale doing that they would be paying overpriced or leaving with nothing

My number one pet peeve is people who do not price items and are not willing to put a price on them when you ask. I prefer stickered prices, but have not issue if I have to ask. I walk away when they say "I haven't priced, looked up, or am willing to part with it".
I agree with you. I don't mind it sometimes because people will just come up with random prices that can work to your advantage. This situation was a little different because her brother passed away and she wasn't sure everything that she had. She did tell me she he had some figures that were worth some value. Normally though, I do the same as you.

I always buy out all the jewelry at the end of estate sales, sometimes it gets awkward, when I am trying to pack it up and all the sudden people want to start picking through it. lol
It happens like that all the time. I had told her I would buy all the toys from her. She wanted to put all the pieces on the table to see what she had first. They were her brothers and he had passed. She wanted to keep a couple of pieces, which I fully understand. We could have just did it off to the side. This made things more awkward.

Brotha the Disney glasses and one of those action figures pays for the $440… literally going to 3x that. Why was saying yes such a struggle there? Crazy. Thought that was a totally fair deal.
She said $330 for the table and the glasses. I agreed to that with no issues. The debate was for the remaining items left over in the table. The remaining figures had a slow sell through rate. Which we ended up agreeing for an additional $110 which was for the items left over in the second pile.

@@teligaming1991 the $330 was for the price of the shoes, cups, and figures in the first table. The second table that had the DC figures and the lord of the ring figures. That’s what we were negotiating back and worth with. Those figures we settled on $110 for. Putting it for a total of $440 plus $5 for the call of duty game.
Nice little score on the comics and a big score on those Disney mugs right on!

You do realize that we don’t look up everything at garage sales. Sometimes we don’t know the total value until we list everything online.

Open boxes are a big problem, especially when some were backless & falling out.. ~ The Disney Mugs you kept crashing them into each other & it looked like there was a fragment (exactly like the missing one you showed) on the table. I agree with you but this situation was a little different. It was her brothers collection who past away. I offered to buy it all before she put it out. She told me that she had to put it all in the table to see what was in the totes before she could give me a price. I was trying to avoid that situation but it’s what the seller wanted to do.

I don’t spent a lot of time on buying glassware. Unless it’s something unique or something valuable. They take extra time to package, ship, and list. I try to be very selective with them. We will do great on those Disney Villian mugs though!

Most of the people that want the benefits of eBay without doing any of the work are the people that don't understand the difference between listed and sold prices. That's why they think there's some magical number they can find to cash in a big score. I got the feeling at this sale she just didn't want her brother's efforts to have been wasted. She's more interested in something coming out of something that he loved so much.

She should have just put the boxes down in front of you and you look through them and keep the box. She wasted a whole lot of your time for sure and steps. I grew up in restaurant work and too many steps will kill you if you can't shorten the process. LOL
Yea, I was trying to get her to do that but didn’t want to be pushy. I think she didn’t know what all was in the boxes and wanted to pull out a couple of things because they used to be her brothers.

Honestly i like you just dont respect resellers as i feel these families are doing yard sales because they need extra money not for someone to be greedy and make it a full time job. Instead just get a job.
I appreciate you taking time out to watch. I will tell more than 90% of garages are done to get rid of stuff that they don’t want. Usually church sales/school fundraiser are the sales that they do to raise money. A lot of people assume that most people do sales because they need money. While there are exceptions to that, it’s usually not the case.
I’m sorry you hate resellers but also not sorry to bust your bubble. Reselling is a job for someone who wants to work for them self and not someone else. When you put in the time to source every day as well as list pack and ship every day or other day then get paid for it, ITS A JOB!🤣🤦🏾♀️
I had to put my eBay store on time away cause I need a break from constantly doing all the work of packing and shipping! I love doing what I do but I needed a break! Kudos to all the hard working sellers/resellers out there!

those Thundar figures would defiantly gone in my Personal Collection I have only seen them in the wild once before 8 years ago at the Chicagoland Toyshow loose and they wanted $150 for the set and I debated hard about buying them then.
I knew they were good but I didn’t know they were worth what they were until I looked them up! I gave them listed on Ebay right now and they have a bunch of watchers. Crazy pickup for sure! Any idea on why they were so rare?

You seem cool but why should you be able to pull items to the side but others cant. And you know the seller can make more selling items individually. Just thought your etiquette could of been better in this situation. I'm not so sure you didn't know when the sale opened either. Early bird gets the action figures.

I do buy pins. They are easy to ship and store. Nightmare before Christmas items, in general, do well.

Her brother passed away and these were his figures. I think she had some type of emotional connection when she was pulling them out.

This was actually a tense video. Not really from the other shoppers but the lady putting in the sale. I was just waiting for her to try to gouge you after she said she knows you're a reseller and she went to eBay to price stuff. But I was happy to see she was really cool and happy to move a bunch of stuff and still leave room for you to eat as well
Favorite item is got to be the doctor fate bro took me right down memory lane I wasn't a little kid when it came out but I sure did watch that show a lot

I saw some of the Corpse Bride figures were open. Does that concern you at all?
That’s a great question. Most people would of stayed away from them because of that. I knew the early McFarlane and NECA toys do really well loose or in the package. Without looking them up, I just factored in that I could get at least $15. A bunch of them bring much more. I’ll do really well on them even though they are open.

Salt life is all over Florida but in the Tampa, Fl area.
So there are a lot of negative comments. This guy did nothing wrong in this video. He is a reseller. His job is not to people please. For a yardsale they got a lot of money and he got a steal. For everyone that's angry that this is the reason you can never find anything good at a garage sale those people are not waking up early and getting to the sales soon enough. You were at the right place at the right time and scored! You shouldn't be pressured by people in the comments to feel bad about it.

@@pickingandpunching I have been doing Ebay for 27 years and I have sold over a quarter of a million dollars in vintage Star Wars toys so I knew instantly that it was a good deal, Sorry to judge so early.
@@scottsnyder2526 Its all good. I been selling on ebay for 25 years myself. There are certain things I know right away that are good deals, while others you are unsure because you have not sold them in the past. Some items may have a slow sell through rate or not a lot of comps. We all have different levels of comfort when making purchases based on our knowledge/past experience. No need to apologizes. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Honestly, I don't like resellers unless the items on sale are yours, not like this guy buys stuff cheap from yard sale or thrift stores.
They ruined thrift store pricing policy now. They are not the only reason, but they are part of it.
I would be naive to think that we didn’t contribute it but we are not the main issues. Shop Goodwill has been selling online since 1999.

I'm planning on setting up some eBay's selling myself I have to wait till next year though. Not in a good place where I'm living and no internet. But I do have some stock. Comic books mostly right now cuz I have no place to put nothing else LOL 25 ft trailer doesn't have much space.

Yeah brother bad form. You are waiting to make an offer but you aren’t even sure if you want them cause you are standing there pricing them first. You want them take them don’t just hog the table like it’s already yours, cause you not only cost the sellers out of a potential sale but you cost potentially buyers out of something they would have actually paid for. Also if you agreed to buy everything you wouldn’t have cherry picked. Once you leave the table that’s on you, those tables were meant to lay out the merchandise not horde your stuff you may or may not even buy. What if she would have made you pay retail, then that so called agreement you mentioned would have went out the window.
My pet hate is garage sellers going on eBay and trying to get same price (usually asking not sold). Stay in your lane, you have no idea what’s involved in reselling. If you want ebay prices, do the hard work yourself.

So till you decide which one you will buy, someone has to wait for you? Make an offer for everything or allow others to take what they want. I think part of the fault is with you too. Trying to fishing items by blocking everything. Its not your item unless you pay for everything.
I was the first one there and she was bringing out the items for me. She wanted to pull them out one by one to go through them first because they were her brothers. He had passed. There were a couple she wanted to keep. She told me I had first dibs on them for waiting for her. She went to get the integer tote and the other lady started to grab some. It was a weird situation that made things really awkward for everyone.
As a person who has yearly yard sales, if I had a customer who was interested in a product I had multiples of, I would not pull them all out. I would just put the bins or boxes by the customers stuff and when I got it all out, I would go through them and set the price. I'm sorry but the way she did that was rude by setting them out on the table like that.

Actually she did. I was the first person there and I asked her if she had anymore figures. She said she would go get those for me.

There was actually to offers. We did an offer for $320 for the first Batch of items. We were then working out a deal for the remaining items. I fully agree with you though, I wouldn’t do that but it was a separate deal.
When she said the one toys price of $200.00 and you asked her if its listed or sold prices, my guy you know that its sold prices you looked it up yourself, WOW, and scannkng the items your buying at a garage sale and claiming there all yoirs because you wanna jack the prices up is absolutely disgusting.
I’m glad everyone is noticing how you likely just prevented a woman from buying a loved one a gift, not looking to buyout but clearly looking at a couple of the toys (probably to buy for a child) and you still post it with a title “never do this”. I’m not hating just glad these comments ain’t brain dead. You should have told her if she’s looking to get a gift for a young one etc to go ahead and have a look. Live and learn though so hoping you take that from this. You ought to be situationally aware and never do this; cause she clearly wasn’t looking to steal that bulk sale; merely trying to get a gift it seems.

I'm sorry, but if you're going to have a yard sale and sell collectibles you should have done all that already on your phone or computer taking prices to bend people over with. I bet she wasn't even worried about the prices until she saw you with your phone.
It was her brothers collection and he had past. She had knowledge of values of certain items all ready. She knew the Thundarr the Barbarian figures were valuable.

For the record what you are doing is really scummy. Those three figures paid for everything. You should have given her exactly what she wanted at 480. Her brother died and it’s his collection. Really scummy to aggressively push her down on price
For the record, we don’t fully know what we can get for the items when we purchase the items. We also don’t know how long it will take for the items that sell. We have to store the items, list the items, etc. Looking back almost a year later, yes we should have just paid the $480 but sometimes you don’t know when you are in the moment.
Na you kinda moved like a shitlord even putting your phone down quickly when you saw only one ookla listed at $299 and then you cover it up with another toy. Sad stuff
When I run my yard sales I have a big sign in front saying resellers not welcomed. I can spot them a mile away.
Just curious on your thought process on that. I know some people encourage them because they will buy in bulk because the Sellers ultimate goal is to clear things out. I’m assuming you may be more of a vendor selling directly to the end user?

First reseller video I've watched were I got mad at the reseller and not other people! Not sure if it was you or girl selling but didn't make you look good! Would've helped if you had video of you asking to get more toys and asking how much for all! Seems like you held up table till you made up your mind which seemed like forever and then lady put back barbie and with babrie now you offered less! She was a good negotiator! Hit you back with original price now with barbie added 😂😂!
This video was a year ago. I would have added more context to it. The back story was that I was the first person to arrive and asked to buy all the toys. She told me that her brother passed and wanted to pull out all the toys to go through them. She said there might be a couple of items she wanted to keep. As I was waiting for her to do that. Some other lady showed up and started to grab items off the table. She didn’t know about our previous conversation. The situation could have been handled differently by the seller and by me. This is one of those situations where you live and learn. I would have handled things differently if I was in the same situation.
I generally pick up the items I want, pay for them, take them to the car and come back and fill my hands again. Once I pick something up, I don't put it down.
That’s what I would normally do. She said she wanted to take things out to see what she wanted to keep. She told me to make a pile. She made it awkward for us all.
