Holy cow! Where did that extra verse come from? 32 years later and I'm still hearing new Feat/Lowell??!?!?! F-ing incredible!!! Thanks for posting! Miss you, Lowell....
So sweet, especially with the additional verse. Funny how you can listen to a song for decades, then you hear this...and it sounds new again. RIP Lowell G! Thanks for posting this!
Great version! "II met her in Atlanta, she left me in Savahanna" Lowell had a way with words and an ability shift pitch and tone like I have not heard before..Its very unique to him.. I love his daughter's ( Inara) voice too..Where are the L George's today..Its not dating myself, or saying I am just old..Something has really changed ( which it's suppose too) but the replacement stuff is lacking, people in the industry are saying the guitar has seen it's glory days! Listen to Lowell's slide work all through Feat's stuff, I hope this remains When I listen to Lowell the complete package is there..His slide guitar, coincides with his vocal tone/pitch which coincides with his lyrics and finally that look..His appearance was so akin to his lifestyle, nothing hiding here..The man loved his food, his heroin his women, and yes his music...I have never forgotten the Feat shows, especially the Roxy theater in Los Angeles 1976...They opened for the Faces @ Anahiem Stadium 1974, where the Faces equipment never arrived, so little Feat was the show!
cant figure out what to say exactly about this song, first time i saw them in a small room in 73 or 74, should remember, ithink it was 73, nixon was on tv, but back to the point, it mattered alot, i went with a woman who still makes me think of this song. i mean its thematic basis, and yeah, we still talk, and there have been sequelae, but none in the new century, and meeting her with the other women that i"ve been with sefs, well, funny isnt the word, i cant pick a word.. and it feels...same thing..when i'm single which i am now. i dont cry but it would almost be easier to, except that i believe we only cry for ourselves. and its not exactly a sad feeling, its more like being near whatever remains of the ancestors in the place one visits on decoration day.same there's they, but only in a way, and thers me. same thing: theres she, and heres me.
Wow.. huge surprise. Not just the verse, but different accents and altered chords.. makes you wonder how many other LF songs that LG cooked up also had these fascinating "transitional forms"! So Mr. childang, what's the story behind this recording?
Actually, the "Doctor of Rock and Roll" albiet titled in this instance, "Physician to the King". But I do agree withyou. Doctor King, the Bomb. Its all what it is and as God said, "It is good."
The Ultimate Long Lost Genius of Rock n Roll!

Songwriter, singer, slide guitar: What an amazing talent. Lowell George was nonpareil. R.I.P.
All right now. You are so right on. Don't you just love every word.
he was a genre unto himself
He just does it for me...what a pity that he was lost. Just amazing well-rounded musician.
LOWELLは、他に居ない音楽家です。
