Yeah hassle back potatoes woo!
A Potato video WITHOUT IRELAND?! Blasphemy! Almost every single one of our dishes have potatoes in it! Colcannon, Boxty, Champ, Coddle, Farls. The aul shpud is class lads. Of course the classic spuds, cabbage and ham.
I don’t usually like it when people are like “yOu miSsED mY coUnTrY” but you have a point
most likely bc they couldn't choose
They missed it
They ain't gonna add all the countries in the world but ok
When I was in high school, we learnt about Irish people that have strong connections with potatoes through literature books that called, Potato People. A very emotional story and I still remember it after 16 years.
Hi, Bangladeshi here! So Aloo Paratha is actually more of an Indian dish; it's actually most popular in Punjab province. For Bengalis, both Bangladeshi & Indian, most popular potato dishes are Aloo Bhorta and Aloor Dom. Latter is more popular in Bengal province in India. Bangladeshis love Aloo Bhorta(mashed potatoes mixed with green or dried red chili pepper, onion, mustard oil, and ghee) which is mainly eaten with plain rice. So we eat carbs with carbs! LOL
Aalu sheddho aar ghee bhaat ❤️
Honestly we Bengalis like that Mughlai Porota.

@@luminessence321 LOL Mughlai Porota is life!! Just had it as breakfast thanks to Maa! 😍😍😍
@@SulwanaH LUCKY!
I’m an Irish-American, but India’s DUM ALOO is my favorite potato dish on the planet. I literally want to teach the whole world to sing 🎤...
Yes, it's my favourite too and thanks for appreciating the food 🍲 (and induced culture in it).
Im irish - indian and i agree
I ate that today in breakfast. 😄😄😄
@@aditiarya492 So jealous. I hope you had some fresh naan and hot pickle or at least hot mango chutney.
@@matthewjay660 Yes, I do. But you know we do not eat naan regularly in India, there is Roti which we eat on regular basis.
By the way, I didn't combine my meal with some mango pickle, but now it is the season of Mangoes and Litchis here, so I am enjoying that.
You forgot about Ireland!!! We’re one of the biggest consumers of potatoes. We probably have 100 ways to eat them
That's why they didn't add Ireland 😐😂.I mean how can they add the 100 dishes
Threy should make a video just for Ireland. I wanna know all the ways my ancestors made potatoes!
Yeh the feckin gowls. It's like makin a video about sausages without mentioning Germany!
@@cacamilis8477 lol I love sausages and I'm going to Germany for my higher studies what a coincidence 😅
Looks lads I know we love the spuds but can we stop pretending that the average paddy will ever eat them in any other way than: Boiled, Mashed, Roasted, as chips or crisps. 'Traditional' Irish food is shite on a plate. Now a spicebag or chicken fillet roll on the other hand....
Every other country :- Complex Fresh home made potato dishes
US :- Chips
Best use of the potato ever!
Literally eaten by the whole world and one of the best snack foods ever invented!
Genius invention
@@savioblanc no, the best use of a potato is vodka.
Not sure how hassle back potatoes or fries are a complex dish but i guess complex is subjective…

Dum aloo, aloo pakora and aloo parathas are common in most south asian countries. We were once the same country after all. Lot of our food and culture is similar.

I may not know exactly from where Aloo paratha is from but it is one of the most famous dish from Punjab in India and people from there have made it famous world over and having it with butter, curd and green chutney will always be lovingly nearest to my heart😋😋😍😍❤
u forgot achaar
Yes, but the way she almost did post mortem on the paratha was....🥴😅
It is a Punjabi dish only, not a Bangladeshi dish since rice is more often consumed in the fertile delta of Ganga and Brahmaputra.
Yeah...aloo de paranthe are from punjab only....Nd im too from punjab,😁
Bangladesh was India so basically, it's from here only. hehe

I have never heard of 'crash hot potatoes' and I've lived in Australia my whole life. Would have been more iconic to show potato scallops/potato cakes instead.
Very very poor research here but that's the way this channel always is. Personally I'll be going to the fish and chip shop tomorrow and be asking for a potato cake burger

Exactly! WTF is a crash hot potato? Potato cakes would be far more iconic.
Its not even Australian
I honestly felt less australian for not knowing. Thank god Im not the only one who has never heard a out it
2:19 As a Turkish I must say that we do NOT put bacon into our Kumpir. We put olives, corns, and etc. Turkey is a muslim country and most people don't eat bacon...
Is it because pork is quickly spoiled in heat?
@@user-ph6nx2xg9v it is because in islam eating pork is haram as the pig is seen as an impure animal, and in turkey over 99% of the population is muslim

Can't believe that Belarus was not mentioned. Belarus is literally referred as "potato country". Even though that's a stereotype that we put potatoes in every dish, it is still very popular food. The most popular dish that we have is draniki. Draniki are the pancakes made with flour and potato. It is usually served with sour cream. That's really worth mentioning.
Welp they cant say all the countries

The fries showing in the video that supposed to be Belgium look nothing like Belgian fries believe me. 😂😂

They absolutely massacred poutine, they used frozen French fries, and said nothing about how the gravy is made
They absolutely massacred most of them though...
In Poland, you can find latke, a potato cake which is also known as bramborak or boxtie, or even placek ziemniaczany. Potatoes are also served in a form of 'mash' as a side dish alongside with cutlet and salad or chopped cucumber in sour cream known as mizeria.

I have literally never heard of the German dish and I'm German.
We do have hot, fried potatoes with onions, bacon and greens here but I've never heard anyone call that a "potato salad". A potato salad is small potatoes with mayonnaise and ham.

Turkey : showing bacon

To be honest, I feel so good that the dishes represented for India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are all found in all the three countries. Divided by border, united by food!
P.S. Don't start an argument about this. If you can feel the wholesomeness of this, share it with others. Or else, don't go about writing a hateful comment due to the tensions between the countries. Be proud of who you are, and respect the others. Degrading other countries will only project an ill-image of your own country.

I love every single dish of potato it is my favorite vegetable. My favorite dish is potato salad hands down. I had covid and lost my tastebuds, but dammit i made potato salad and could not taste it. Do u know how odd that is to feel food and feel the crunch of the celery yet u cant taste a thing?
Did u eat anything with chillies bc i wanna know if the capsaicin still effects u
“Kumpir is a baked potato with toppings such as bacon” 🤔 ummm u sure about that? Pretty sure like 95 % of Turkey follows Islam & avoids pork....also Papa Relleno is eaten all over South America & Carribean Latin areas, it’s not some exclusive Peru thing
We eat kumpir as street food so it has much more toppings than one like Russian salad pickles sausage
what they call bacon in this video might appear as pork but we have some sort of dried meat called pastırma in Turkey which is translated as bacon. they might be reffering to that
People often hate on potato chips, but good ones are actually rather nice.

I'm a Barbadian, your interpretation is not off from our original pudding and souse, it's just that from my side of the computer it seems like you forgot an ingredient which is browning.
We usually use browning to add more color to the pudding.
The reason it is so popular and versatile is because it literally has NO FLAVOR OR COLOR. It can be out into any cuisine and fit. You can make it taste the way you like, and colour it the way you like, and it literally goes with everything, sweet or savory.
