If anyone’s interested in the topic of the New Testament autographs, check out Craig Evans's book Jesus and the Manuscripts; he has a fascinating discussion on how long the autographs would be in circulation, and he brings forth that the autographic text could have still influenced some of the existing manuscripts we have today because the autographs would still be in circulation for a very long time before they were discarded.
Evans references George W Houston, who is an actual classical professor at North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Great Q&A, I really appreciate Dr. Licona’s work! I will say though I’m not crazy about the explanation of how “God was not the one who died on the cross” as the questioner put it.
Christians have historically been comfortable saying God died on the cross when speaking of the crucifixion because of the Hypostatic union: Jesus is fully God and fully man, and so something that happens to His humanity can be attributed to the single person. I think a key part of the problem is thinking that dying equals non-existence, which we don’t believe as theists. Karl Barth went so far as to say that it’s a test of your Christology if you’re willing to say that Mary is the God-bearer/Mother of God.
If the NT confesses that Jesus is God, we have to proclaim it boldly regardless of what JWs and Muslims think. Also, using complimentarian categories to explain the Trinity (which is a form of social trinitarianism) is very recent in the history of the church and it leads you into all sorts of issues. There is no subordination within the Godhead. I think this is a blind spot in evangelicalism.
