- I saw this Dieffenbachia at least a year before I was able to get one myself. I particularly loved the Aglaonema pictum 'Tricolor' style look of this, even though Dieffenbachia aren't one of my favorite plants. They tend to grow a little "caney" but this one has stayed relatively stable for me. It's #301 in "365 Days of Plants".
In this video I'll discuss where it is originally native to, where I'm growing it in my home, and basics like light, watering and fertilizing.

I literally just got this one last week, it’s very pretty. Thanks for the info!
I just got one of these.
This is not a "Reflector", though...
I collect and grow Dieffenbachia from the wild. It's amazing the natural variation!
You sure have manly features period🇺🇸
The ones ive seen that are mature look a lot more camo than this one, like very camo and very interesting...
that pot is beautiful
That pot and saucer are both gorgeous. Quite eye catching. 💕
I had mine for about 2 years now (not more than 3) and I fell in love when I saw it. I found mine in Lowe's and they were all in a 8-10 inch pot. I don't normally buy plants that big b/c I have limited space. As we know there are always exceptions to the rules (lol). Thank you for your video. I feel like this diffenbachia does not get the love it deserves.
I was thinking of getting one. The one I saw at my local nursery had a lot of the lime green spots or splashes on a deep background. I imagine light conditions would affect the amount of variegation it gets. Thankyou for this video it was very helpful
I love this plant but it's hard to come by and if it does it will be so expensive ♥️💚🌿
A dumb cane is as classic as a pothos. A true timeless plant.
this is a beautiful Dieffenbachia and I would love to have this in my dining room. Thanks for the video Summer.
I literally just got one of these last week! So this was very helpful!!
Is this similiar to the Camouflage Dieffenbachia in the sense of them becoming "stemmy?" My Camouflage is bushing out into too many different directions.
I have the Starry night..
Literally just got this 🙏🏼 anyone know best way to propagate?
I have this and it’s a fave. Thanks for the warning on its tendency to get “stemmy”. Mine are still young so I’ll move them to a little lower light.
The Reflector Is One Of The Dieffenbachia That I Feel A NEED For!!! I WOULD Want IT To Look Like The One You Showed Us. I Am Such A #FoliageFiend!!! The Dieffenbachia Like SO Many Others Is REALLY Coming Out With Some LOOKERS...I Mean US #PlantLovers Just DON'T Stand A Chance!!!
This is probably my favorite diffenbachia!
Sounds like it struggles in the sunny heat.
Mine has not stopped putting out leaves since I got it last summer 😍
Very attractive foliage!!
Fantadtic ptant!!! 🥰
Really cool pot
I have one of these. It growing alot of branches..it growing so fast
I have had this plant for 6 months and every leaf it has put out looks completely different from the last then it decided to drop half its leaves because i forgot to water it 😳
I have this plant , it's beautiful..and is 2 feet tall already..its leave sparkles under bright light too
I am from Singapore
A very pretty plant!
I love this Dieffenbachia and when I find it will probably grab it. I have the common one, and wondered if I cut off the tops and tried rerooting them I could have a fuller plant, thanks for the info on this beauty, now I am going to try propagating mine. Thank you Summer, as always you have so much useful information that I truly appreciate. See you soon, bye for now.
I just got this plant a month ago, I love the colors on it 😍
Doesn't look like a reflector...
B. Alex it’s not the best example of one
Agreed, don't feel like I need one anymore if this is what it actually looks like
I like this one and I think it might be underappreciated for its leaf markings. It's on my list :)
